The Corner

Hangin' out on the corner is,
A fine pastime that educates.
With poems from all walks of life,
It sometimes even leads to dates.

The subjects too are varied wide,
From love to hate and all between.
From flow'rs and trees to cars and boats,
It really is a happ'nin' scene.

It teaches and it entertains,
From minds and hearts around the globe.
With worlds of words that cross the seas,
To hit you in the frontal lobe.

Community, comraderie,
With comments kind in thoughtful prose.
Emoticons add style and flash,
Usually add some of those.

Sometimes our tears are brought to eyes,
From verses touching from the heart.
And others make us laugh out loud,
With silly lines from some ol' fart.

Where do broken hearts go?

When the heart migrates, no one can know, nor can one appreciate, a place it will go. As pain and anger, consume that poor soul. Broken hearts-one endangered, is what "someone" stole. Striped of its standard; the heart-lost love. A broke-heart is hard; it's like a dead dove. A dove any day, is beauty in the sky. Broken-heart, the other way, make you wanna die! A life-time of pain, is hard to bear. Dead-love makes for insane; no more: love-you dear! Stripped of its light, where do broken hearts go? This an un-manned flight, hence no one knows.

~so much to say here~

In this place y'all hang out
What you write's, what you feel
In that moment with your thoughts.

Alot of words that I've read
You all post thru your days
To talk about something
Important in your mind.

What I'm trying to say
There's much that I've read
Yet no comment to reflect.

Perhaps it's a case of the way that I am
It is what it is and the way it's just me~

Kiss Me

Kiss me
and I will fill your world
with rainbows

Kiss me
I will pick you
the sweetest flowers

Kiss me
I will place moonbeams
on your pillow

Kiss me
I will sing you
a love song

Kiss me
I will shower you
with the warmest rains

Kiss me
I will never leave......

Corner Poem

Words succinctly remind us tonight
it is, after all, a no-cost dating site
no more, and certainly, no less
on this defense my argument will rest.

This much, too, I must, dutifully, confess
It is not Forums, nor Blogs to address
nor Videos viewed, nor Games played
not Flowerbox planted nor Photos displayed

nor eCards or Mailbox to receive or to send
or Polls to take or Groups to jump in
No Articles of import inserted to share
nor Online Now to see who is there.

Not one of the Tags, colored, small, large
that shout how different or alike we each are
Nor a post or review of one’s favorite CD
Music categorized for enjoyment by you, by me.

Nor one of the 248 pages of Movies, so far, shared
to see what others watch and get to know who cared.
Nor your favorite Books list complete with fans
where The Secret reigns, so at the top it lands.

But rather Poetry, a corner where poets reside
to share with the reader what lives and dies inside
that pours onto paper from the sweat of the pen
risks being judged “mediocre”, beginning to end

thoughts, hopes, ideas, what appears in vivid dreams
captured in rhyming or un-rhyming verse that streams
byte-by-byte through the internet ether, with hope on wing
to resonate, a tear or smile to each reader might bring.

As words succinctly remind us tonight
we’re connected through this no-cost site
so, by now you can, in good humor, guess,
my “mediocre” poem finds a quiet place to rest.

Suggestions(Lyric)

Embedded image from another site

Why can't i walk down a street
...free of suggestion?

Is the body my only trait
... in the eye's of men?
Within the eyes of man

Well I've got some skin
Do you want to look in
Cause Ive got some

There lays no reward
...in what you discover
You spent yourself boy
...watching me suffer
Suffer your words
Suffer your eyes
Suffer your hands
Suffer your interpretation
...of what it is
of what it is to be a man

Well I've got some skin
Do you want to look in
Cause I've got some

About this poem:
"People are People" Its a camp fire sing a long song

We're different colors
And different creeds
And different people
Have different needs
It's obvious you hate me
Though I've done nothing wrong
I've never even met you
What could I have done

People are people so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people so why should it be
You should hate me

You're punching and kicking,
And you're shouting at me,
I'm relying on your common decency,
So far it hasn't surfaced,
But I'm sure it exists,
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist.

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along
so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You Should Hate me

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

Xmas Hugs

A string of pearls snatched off a table,
ripped appart and scattered over an old floor,
tears fall and bruises form over the hearts of many.

A Poet comes here and picks up a pearl,
She writes with it and it becomes a rose.
A Poet comes here and picks up a pearl,
He writes with it and it becomes a kiss.

And soon all the pearls of hurt from all over the world
are slowly changed into roses and kisses, hugs and love.

The poets are a gentle race who change the world by loving it.

Am sending Xmas Hugs to each of the most precious poets in this place.
every one of you have taken one of my pearls and changed it for me over this year, and Michael took a silver sting and thread my pearls together again.

A poetry tale ...

The time has come again,
To meet old friends and dance,
And match our shouting words,
With arms of Venus flying traps.

Thru joys of thunderous laughter,
And tears of raining moments,
We gathered with a fight for love,
Of an ancient tale that's called 'poetry'.

NOT a poem...just a question

If you were to pass by a book of my poetry in a book store and read a bit...would it be something you just flipped through or would it be something you actually purchased?
Please be honest...I'm curious as to whether I should write a book of poetry or just leave it as a hobby...all comments welcome please...good or bad =) !!
