In my case I began with Amateur Radio, aka HAM Radio. Back in those days running the equipment often required understanding how it worked and a HAM who had actually built his own radios and legally used them was a better choice for a station job than someone who had just gone to school but never burned his fingers on a hot tube or had a relay get stuck while switching frequencies. Once your HAM license reached a high skill level many stations would consider an application from you. Likewise once you understand how they work, getting a license allowing you to run a commercial station of your own was not an impossible task. These days here in the US much has changed but I still believe a genuine license is a good start. Sure, today it is all digital and packet and satellite and computer controlled, and the license fees have climbed out of sight with no more cheap frequencies and everything going for highest bid at auction, but somewhere deep in the guts of the operation there is a need for someone who knows how to tune an antenna and the difference between capacitance and resistance.
I suppose I could put one up again. Still own the equipment, but there would be some hassle with a new antenna and the changes in zoning laws. Lot of money would be needed for palm greasing (call it legal fees). Is there a valid reason for the request?
Actually I do know. And agree with them that the people do not need to know and they aren't ready for the truth. LoL, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! So true.
Okay, 55 years since we had to memorize that. Apologies for the typo. Not has, but hath. Full version of Sir Walter Scott's poem below. As true today as it was then.
"Breathes there the man with soul so dead Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my native land! Whose heart hath ne’er within him burned, As home his footsteps he hath turned From wandering on a foreign strand! If such there breathe, go, mark him well; For him no minstrel raptures swell; High though his titles, proud his name, Boundless his wealth as wish can claim Despite those titles, power, and pelf, The wretch, concentred all in self, Living, shall forfeit fair renown, And, doubly dying, shall go down To the vile dust from whence he sprung, Unwept, unhonored , and unsung."
LoL, Mormons would of course prefer everyone forget the early days of that Church and stop living in the past (one of the favorite sayings of folks with a history others may not like).
That's two questions, okay maybe 3 from a new blogger. Orange flag flying today folks. This one reminds me of one of the forum posters questions. Are widows stupid? Really? Supposedly someone said that? Then there is the business about getting IMs.. Where is that can of red flags?
Exactly as Nam says, which I thought was covered in an earlier blog same subject. Totally different if you also gave him an outside CS email address or a text number which would require different more complex steps, which is why experienced CS users rarely do that.
"Further more, was the video tape of this altercation obtained through legal means, that is by court order or with the permission of those seen in the tape? Is there not an expectation of privacy on a persons part, particularly when they are paying for services at an establishment such as a hotel so that their actions cannot be viewed by others without their advanced knowledge and concent?"
No, that is la la land. If the video tape was legally made, it belongs to the maker and they can release it wherever they want. As the subject of the video you may try to sue them if you wish to spend the money, but many courts have already said if there was a sign warning of electronic surveillance, shame on you for doing something dumb on camera.
Point of fact there are websites where footage from many such tapes are bought and shown for public view of incidents at bars, restaurants, and even dumb stuff done in front of an ATM machine (warning, most bank ATM machines have the camera on 24/7, not just when a transaction is happening and more than one murder has been solved by police viewing a bank's ATM footage from across the street). Publicly available footage on those websites runs the gamut from changing blouses at the bar but forgetting there is security camera to assaults such as this now famous one in the elevator.
No, Mr. Rice will not be picked up by another NFL team. He has been suspended from the NFL and his NFL career is over because of that one punch.
Apple now holds over 40 million credit card account numbers in their corporate database making it the current largest cell phone database of credit card numbers. Are you and your number in their database?
LoL, OP appears to be reading a newsletter written by someone on LSD and totally detached from this Universe, much less current events in the US.
The T Party has basically been defunct ever since McCain & Palin lost. Hint, that was years ago. "They fill some streets in some cities"??? Which street, when? A) no one noticed them, B) it must have been a small street as their numbers are few compared to the total population, C) It has been many months since the last large G20 or G9 or G7 or G8 protests.
How does one 'liberate' a billboard?
Goldman Sachs gives 1 Billion dollar bonuses? I want to work for them.
Since all Americans are stockholders now that just about everyone has a 401K plan, Americans may be disinclined to follow your suggestion and shoot every stockholder.
This was a covert tactical insight? LoL, the G20 is mucho safe.
It is like the Joplin song, Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.
We have been through both a major house fire and a freezing flood event that each was a total loss of the residence structure in question. The result is the total loss of accumulated bric-brac of 240+ years of family history. Everything from handed down Family Bibles and Journals to silverware made by an ancestor to photos and old wedding dresses. I think everything I have left of family stuff would fit in a shoe box and maybe even a smaller box.
I never liked the .25, not Brownings and not Berettas. A useless caliber sometimes stopped by a heavy winter coat. Alternatively the 2.2 short version is a lot more useful, and moving up to .22 LR we have the deadliest caliber in human history followed closest by the .38 Special. None of them are good choices for bear if one wishes to also survive the encounter, but I guess they are all good for boyfriend's knees.
I would tell him I am an undercover assassin for the Soviet KGB and I have been here for 40 years executing those persons I have been assigned to kill and they pay me in gold, but lately I have so much gold I am getting nervous having it in the house and it is too heavy to carry with me. So I need to find someone trustworthy to hold it for me, ask him if he can suggest anyone and send me their address. Also there are some large uncut diamonds I need help finding a buyer for.
Leopards shed. New fur grows. Sometimes the pattern does indeed shift. Whoever invented the saying knew nothing about Leopards. Spotted or not, it remains a dangerous predator.
Hmm, widower #19 here. All equipment seems to be working properly. Does CS work? Probably. I have been in contact with a few (and still am) that are hot enough to generate enough of a connection IMO that if we were closer we would have met by now. Alas distance exists as do Visa requirements. Sigh, someday I am going to win the Mega Millions and hop on a plane and visit 4 or 6 of the honeys I'be E-met here that have migrated to easier communications medium.
Hi Jenny I was just wondering what had happened to you here and was glancing at your profile to make sure you were still around, then when I come back to blogs, here you are. Happy Days.
No you should not lower your standards. Grab the one who interests you for the dance and ignore the rest. Fear not, one of us males IS the one you want.
