RE: What's wrong with my profile?

BTW, your question, no I don't. Not even sure it is a real profile.

RE: folklore

This particular specimen (trained and friendly) and photo to the contrary, imo, an angry critter this size (over 9 feet tall) is NOT to be played with and I believe choosing a .243 for the encounter would be a really bad mistake.

RE: folklore

And thinking about it, I really would not want .243 as my only option for an angry Grizzly. I think the outcome would be pretty similar to the cowboy Keith wrote about who (briefly) shot one a few times with a German Luger (9mm) pistol. Smack! No more cowboy.

Spring we understand you. Keep on writing.

RE: Nop!

Not necessarily. Heart attack (and yes, youngsters can get them too), aneurysm and drugs have to be eliminated as the cause first before we can speak of Homicide. Nevertheless, it is a suspicious 'non-witnessed] death, so certain protocols should always be followed.

RE: Apparently You CAN Die Of A Broken Heart.

My parents had passed their diamond anniversary when Dad suddenly died. Within a year in spite of almost constant medical attention Mom (who had been healthy before Dad died) was also dead. Perhaps two do become one after all, and one going down pulls the other one down.

So Yahoo

Thanks, but no need to turn it off. Just bemused at both the tactic, and also how some of them were so clumsy on the site that the cite deleted them before I could view them. I mean normally with the 'Hi' emails and flowers, it takes 2 or 3 days for them to be deleted, but fans seem to generate a quicker CS response, which is good.

At T, is okay. No one reads their bible on Sunday anymore anyway. :)

RE: Let's pray for Gaza

Okay, CS moved it to the photos forum I mean. :(

RE: Let's pray for Gaza

Okay, CS moved it to the photos blog.

RE: folklore

We literally have too many around here to relate them all. Strongly suggest viewing the 2013 TV show Mountain Monsters. Some of our local ones are here.
For what it is worth my own trail cams caught a glimpse of something (which I hope and pray never comes to my forest again) really big and scary a few years ago. No idea what it was. T'was less than a second of imagery, but when I did a frame by frame review, holy Toledo (S word actually). Had to be at least 20' tall and bent trees out of it's way. Just the lower limbs imaged, insect like, bi pedal. Footage didn't survive a hard drive crash, so can't share it. Dunno what, but along those lines, something has been eating some of my deer.

This spring this young buck was fairly nonchalant about hanging out in my yard's grassy area watching me come and go when he suddenly vanished and two days later I found him in the woods alongside the grassy area of my yard. I found the struggle area (fur, a bitten off front leg, blood, etc.) maybe 10 feet from the carcass and did a recon and found the spot something just sprang (kicked up leaves and traces of claws in the mud) at him from 15 feet away. Since then two more such discoveries. I do not recognize the consumption pattern. The ribs and spine were removed intact, but all the meat and innards are totally gone. Cause of death would in all cases seem to be a gnawing chomp right through the spine below the skull. Kind of hard to tell though as the organs are gone too. Have picked up and examined the hide shown. No punctures, just a long rip possibly made by removing the spine/ribs. Don't know what it is. What I know, it is an ambush predator, it is stealthy enough to get close to a deer (who are usually pretty paranoid), it is fast enough to get the deer, it is powerful and has a hell of a bite and a fearsome appetite. Figure that was 90 pounds (about 40 kilos) of meat and guts totally gone inside two days.

Tell ya the truth, I am a little more cautious when alone in my woods this year.

RE: Must watch!

LoL, I was going to post that the other day instead of the kids dancing in military uniform. Looks like we get the same facebook shares. You beat me to it. laugh Thought it was great.

RE: Snow never melt

Snow can indeed be eaten.
More importantly, when using it for the water when cooking, please remember to stir the snow when heating it. If you don't it may burn in pot, and nothing ruins a meal like using burnt water as an ingredient.
Truth.

RE: POEM FOR GAZA, VICTORY WILL COME

Revelations. As it was written, so it shall be. Sad, but probably true where that country is concerned.

I did a photo spread in forums related to the renewed Intafada.

RE: Let's pray for Gaza

I took my followup off Blogs and moved it to 'current events' Forums where the rules allow the topic.

Mo it actually is their voices. Recorded in the Hal Roach studio of course, then spliced into the 1936 movie. One of only two of the many many movies and shorts they made in which they sang.

RE: Can You Die Of A Broken Heart?

Yes, it is possible.

Research has shown that in any marriage of more than 30 years, the death of one spouse greatly increases the chances that the other one will be dead within 6 months.

RE: RE:CHANGE OF STATUS

Cavalier
I think all of the single males here would like the woman you describe to be local to them too. Truth is I don't care what race she is, I just want her to be local and interested in me. laugh

Sometimes it also means they are not interested in a man's opinion and will do as they please, and accept that or move on. laugh

In response to the off line spelling correction. Yes, mea culpa.

Spelling error.

RE: My longing in life

Okay. The visa was the big concern. I believe 3 kinds allow school attendance. If you have had one before and nothing has changed, the next one should be much easier.

RE: Give yourself a smile

Happy Birthdayhappy birthday

RE: Feedback anyone?

Going Off line.

A good movie

The name of the movie is "Fallen." 1998 Starring Denzel Washington, John Goodman, James Gandolfini, Donald Sutherland and many others.

@ Wallops it is a mix. A homicide detective investigating a killing trips across an ancient entity and then it gets personal. If by horror you mean chain-saw stuff and things like that, no relax, it is a cop movie so yes, gunfire and dead folk, but no visible goblins or heads being ripped off.

That is as much spoiler as I think you should have. :)

RE: What is worth fighting for?

Lindsy,
"Hmmnnn still leaves me to thinking when is sin a not so in the measure of what is right...? "

Trust me, you really don't want to know, and never wish to be in that position. Watch the specific Walking Dead episode called, "The Grove" as a for instance. :)

Look at the flowers, just keep looking at the flowers..

RE: The Real Gods of Eden

Cat I am not understanding your question. The myths are very specific about who they were, many even have names. So what you mean who were they?

What happened to them? Depends on which one in which myth (tale). Legend has it a female Djinn (shocker, Adam and his women were not (according to scrolls that fell off the table when the bible was being put together) the first things to be made male and female) imprisoned in a jar(?) in a walled up cavern (the origin of the genie in the lamp story) under a Muslim mosque in a specific city in India. The gnostic version of Genesis, the Book of Jubilees, has many of the Grigori Watchers voluntarily drowning at the time of the flood. Which makes no sense, not even to those mentioned in the book, but that is one account. The Christian Bible, Book of Revelations recounts many of the Watchers were thrown into the dark Abyss where time flows not where most will remain until Der Tag. Early Christians thought this meant Hell/Hades, but I am not so sure. Dark, can't escape, no passage of time sounds like something else to me. Also some myths have the godlings growing bored here and going to a different elsewhenwhere. Your guess is as good as mine. Hey, I have an idea. Maybe all 200 cultures around the planet with similar myths about these guys all had some kind of mystic spontaneous mass hallucination, all around the same time period?

RE: The Real Gods of Eden

Yep. I suspect Lilith did just that.
