Come on Jim, you aren't changing anyone's mind. If Trump says drink the Kool-aide a whole lot of people will. It is futile trying to change their minds.
Kudos on a great blog with so many comments. You said
I would never, ever be so cynical as to suggest the pharmaceuticals companies of the world, or even one country, would prefer to hold the patent on a new vaccine, to one which is already available
That made me realize how cynical I'm thinking when it comes to pharmacutical companies, worse than the anti-christ.
Very interesting observation on your part. I believe in vaccines as I think most nurses do too.
YAY New Zealand. Tampa is a little hot spot and we haven't even peaked yet. I just heard there is a facility a round the corner from me where positive tested people are staying in quarantine. That kind of gave me the heeby jeebies since it is so close. I'm staying home going bat chit crazy.
I've been hankering for something cheesy lately. I have a block of cheddar - I just have to decide what I want to put the sauce on. I don't think I have any frozen cauliflower and as a last resort I can do pasta. However today is fresh coleslaw with a Salmon Patty. I also have a crab salad I made yesterday. I love my kitchen and all my gadgets.
If I go out I can find fresh produce and items on the shelves but now I'm more concerned with staying at home and not going out for the fresh items that I love. The news talk is that Florida is climbing up the list as a hot spot and as most know Florida has always been a favored retirement state so MANY elderly.
Although the elderly are more at risk, they probably can adapt to staying at home easier than the youth. I pity the parents that have to put up with their own children day in and day out, especially if they are forced to work from home. I bet this makes them appreciate teachers more. Of course the challenge of working from home is better than having no job to work.
In my community I am seeing more people walking and riding their bikes so that is a good thing.
I wish we would get posted on how long before he gets symptoms and then what his symptoms are like. Will you get the virus just because you were exposed? Probably a good chance, yeah.
I don't think any of my friends or family hoarded anything. I go to the grocery store way less now and then I go when it first opens with much less crowds, usually. Of course everything is different now. I rarely turn into the news as just too much negativity for me but again friends and family keep me updated on ever changing rules.
I've been purging all my drawers, cabinets, closets and shelves. I have 3 large bags for a women's shelter. I'm finding wierd things to clean like the dang window sills for one and there are a ton of windows in this home.
Long long ago I was very guilty of not obtaining a permit to build a fireplace, I added a room to the house with a bathroom and once a swimming pool. I got caught with the pool from an ariel photograph. I paid the fine. They never caught my fireplace or the added room. Nor did they catch that I rented that room to my ex who once lived in that house in the first place.
RE: On the spur of the moment.
I can't tell you how many times I've thrown my dog in car and just drove for no reason, mostly because the dog loves going for rides.
