RE: Ad hominem attacks

YOUR 'Character' Lee ... surely that's an oxymoron of similar magnitude to 'US (or British) Military Intelligence'

You continue to paint a bullseye on yourself, stand screaming 'Roll up, roll up take a potshot ...' and then whine yourself silly when someone takes you up on the advertised offer and gives you what you asked for???

sigh

RE: Holey Moley! Revealed: The REAL Reason they want impeachment NOW! (Its not only about Biden)

Quote from your text
" My logic is simply 'if people have money in their pockets they could careless what the other fella is up to'. "

And that my dear friend is EXACTLY what got the US into the pickle it's now in.

Might I ( respectfully suggest) you go and read the full text of Dwight Eisenhower's 1953 'A chance for speech' and then his 1959 'Farewell address'

You'll see it becomes very obvious when you read it ....

( Ignore the parts in the farewell address when he 'boosts' the MIC - he knew his life was under threat)

cheers

RE: Bercow the most hated man in England amongst the Brexiteers

Bercow is a Tory ...

Tony B Liar did away with almost all of the Socialists in Labour when he called it 'NEW Labour' effectivelly creating The Red Tory Party

David Cameron (Tory MP) offered the referendum ... and promptly resigned because HE was never going to 'follow the wishes of the people' if the said leave.

Theresa May was appointed PM after Cameron left... MAY also is a very pointed 'REMAIN' advocate

It was verging on lunacy for anyone to imagine that there was a much chance as has a snowflake in hell that 'LEAVE' would survive through to it's completion!

The EU 'negotiations' have just been a total waste of time, an expensive stage show, a fraudulent pretence ...

MAY to EU ... Look, you guys know that I oppose leaving, so you gotta throw loads of objections in the way and make it impossible

EU to MAY ... Sure, we'd love to ... but you realise it's gonna cost you tens of billions, lotta people have gotta be a getting their piece of the action ! We help you and we have to deal with a massive backlash all across Europe whn 'The Peasants' realise their vote isn't worth the energy they put in walking to the polling station to press a button on a rigged algorithm !!!

MAY ... No worries, anything so long as you keep me as UK PM and then later on find me a nice cushy number in Brussels and plenty of nice high priced speeches! I wanna make at least 50% more than Tony B Liar got for his deal with the US !

Meanwhile, out on the streets of Great Britain another dozen or so people became homeless for the first time and the Private Business Contractors who act as Recovery Agents for High Court Issued Orders have never been busier ...

RE: Bercow the most hated man in England amongst the Brexiteers

His name should be TerrySteer ... no need to ask me to explain now is there ?

RE: Newfoundland Under Attack

The US probably have a 'current version of War Plan Red' and the movie is to show you your own future in order to keep you Cannuks under the thumb!

It's not 'by chance' that movies are often later seen to be played out in real life ...

No that's probably an understatement ... the Irish suffered horrendously during the potato famine ...

RE: Should Senator Fraser Anning be Punished?

Plainly, he's a mass murderer.

By calling him a terrorist you simply elevate him, give him more power over the public and make him more than he is ... a despicable human being.

And, in the eyes of those with whom his acts find sympathy you make him a hero.

Treat as he is, a common - though prolific - criminal

RE: Should Senator Fraser Anning be Punished?

The head scarf looked contrived ... a stage prop

RE: Should Senator Fraser Anning be Punished?

I don;t have the highest opinion of our leader - but such drivel has to be confronted when seen

So, Charles ... tell me "Why would she ?" ... the requirement for women to cover their heads in a catholic church was dropped about 50 years ago ...

CnP
In the 1970s there was a judgment issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in a document titled Inter Insigniores that basically stated that since chapel veils were not a matter of faith, it was no longer mandatory for women to wear them. In paragraph 4 it states:

It must be noted that these ordinances, probably inspired by the customs of the period, concern scarcely more than disciplinary practices of minor importance, such as the obligation imposed upon women to wear a veil on their head (1 Cor. 11:2-16); such requirements no longer have a normative value.
End CnP

In fact the requirement was only in existence for a short period anyway

CnP
The 1983 code replaced) the 1917 Code of Canon Law, which had been promulgated by Pope Benedict XV. Canon 6.1 n.1 of the 1983 Code specifically states that the entire 1917 Code of Canon Law is abrogated by the new one.

Maybe you're as knowledgeable about Catholicism as you are concerning Islam ?

dunno

RE: Who do you listen to more?

You really are the consummate optimist eh reckon you;d have more hope if you started a commercial butterfly farm for meat production :-) :-) :-)

John Gray is a genius ... it's amazing though how many people mock his work, don't understand the simple elegance of the metaphor yet mindlessly blast his books !

The number of times I asked people 'Have you actually read the book yourself?' and they've had to admit NO ... unreal !

I met him a couple times in the states and attended his seminars ... he could have an audience on the edge of their seats with anticipation and in the next moment switch them between tears and howls of anguish and roars of laughter in the next!

His session on 'O' was fabulous ...

RE: Who do you listen to more?

That's because of most of the time it's a case of 'Read 'em and weep'

But a poll seemed simple enough ... but you can't just create a simple A or B poll ... you had to ramble aimlessly about nothing much !

As I said, about heeding your own advice sister !teddybear

RE: Should Senator Fraser Anning be Punished?

She was a bit too quick to describe this as a terrorist attack when, in reality, it seem that it actually was a hate crime committed by one individual?

ACTUAL terrorism involves organised groups - the 'terror aspect' being from the knowledge that the group exists and may strike again.

Many have indicated the the gunman gave a 'white supremacy sign' however it could equally argued from the position of his hands near groin that he was giving the insult 'w**nker' indicating his disdain for NZ's legal process and all involved.

Yes, his hands ARE cuffed but that would not prevent him raising them above the waist and making his sign more obvious ...

RE: Should Senator Fraser Anning be Punished?

Maduro IS the legitimately elected President of Venezuela - you're saying that you oppose legitimate elections and the choice of the people?

Then you're also supporting all of the previous 67 US interventions that have resulted in the overthrow of the elected government and the installations of puppet leaders who dance to the tune of the US ?

doh

RE: boeing's greed

Unless someone else has hijacked the raphael account ... I'm stunned by the sudden appearance of clarity and rationality...

On the other hand perhaps ONLY the corrupt politicians 'need them' ... we'll be hearing your support for a draining of the swamp next ( even if you can't bring yourself to support DT - to be honest I'm wondering if he's being dragged down by the very crocs n gators he went in to cull !

cheers

RE: boeing's greed

addenda ...

Yes, saw you mention safety infringements (in respect of safety procedures pertaining to aircraft re-fueling I think?)

Without laying any accusation just making a general observation - it's often the case that standards slip @ the highest levels then similarly they slip in down the line!

Seeing that VW were fined $25 BILLION in the US for dieselgate ( which so far as I know involved no loss of life) and are now fighting another (arguably spurious) claim by the a different Dept of the US Government who seem only to have the goal of self enrichment at the expense of a foreign company I wonder if we might see similarly humongous penalties applied to their own domestic industry?

Or, will lobbyists do as they did for the banks and car makers ... make a case that Boeing is too big and important to punish?

VW also suffered massive penalties in other markets - EU, India, Australia ... will they be able to inflict similar heavy penalties or will Trump threaten sanctions against them and call them enemies ???

RE: boeing's greed

.

Dunno if I'm more thrilled by your inability to find something wrong or (perhaps) you've had some happy restoration of rationality ... either way, it's all good.

You DID in earlir time and date (twice or thrice) as I recall mention (Blame) Trump for some mysterious part in this.

As I said at that time the woman who made that claim was shot down within the hour by the FAA who pointed out that their staff perform 'essential services' related to safety and that her allegations were therefore groundless - there was no interruption to the services they provide nor to the work they carry out.

You know how corporations work ... muddy the waters, distract from the ACTUAL by by weaving 'fake facts' and 'red herrings' in so that people become overwhelmed and give up thinking about 'the situation' at hand ...

cheers

RE: the Wild Wild West

WEll, it's a common enough human trait to forget our sins and the sins of our fathers ... but as your book tells

'The sins of the father shall be visited upon their sons ...'

Until we're ALL able to admit our own errors well, as the Hindus put it 'The wheel goes round again ...'

RE: Nagativity - Do We Need It

Negativity is essential , at least in small doses

1) It tempers the enthusiasm of the unrealistically optimists and forces then to THINK about expected and united consequences related to their grand schemes

2) it allows the unendurably cheerful to feel useful by goading people who may be suffering real trauma from life events into feeling guilty about the genuine emotions grief ... this leads to sales of antidepressants and (probably also) increased suicides

3) If negativity is not expressed it becomes chronic, innate to the system and leads to deep personal misery

I could go on ... but essentially everything has the characteristics of yin and yang, good / bad , drk / light ... and often it just depends how you happen to look at 'whatever'

cheers
