Does The Classless Society Really Exist? Can It Ever?

I wasnt suggesting getting rid of classes, I was asking if people think they still exist.

A Cup of Tea and a Big Slice of Moan Cake, Please...

A Cup of Tea and a Big Slice of Moan Cake, Please...

What is it about some people that they like to moan, moan, moan?doh laugh

What is it in their lives that is missing - because I can only imagine thats the case - that prompts them to moan, whine, whinge and complain about every subject under the sun?

If its a subject that seems Moan-Proof, some still find the Whinge Angle..

We all have our Off Days, but certain people are sublimely consistent in their whinging. It stands out a mile, and is most unattractive, particularly on a dating site!

Yeppers, Im "moaning" about people "moaning"..doh rolling on the floor laughing

RE: lies about barak obama.......

Oh, ok...

I thought maybe he was getting remarried or something..

You know; something of vital world political importance or something.

Then I could have had a good ole moan about how much it was costing the country...

grin

RE: I hate reading few topics in forum / blogs which was written in terrible english!

I actually admire people who attempt posting and blogging in English when its not their first language.

There are a lot on here who's English is waaaaay better than my Spanish/French/German/Chinese...

And I usually have waaaay more important things to worry about than someone's spelling.

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Alot of folks seem to be missing the point as to why so much is being made of this wedding.

One of the main reasons it is so prominent is not so much that it is the marriage of the future King and Queen, it is purely because William is Diana's son, and given the love, respect and breath of fresh air she swept through the British Monarchy and the terrible way her life was cut so horribly short this is a much an opportunity to honor HER as it is to celebrate the marriage.

I am not particularly a monarchist, but I know a great deal about the history of the British Royal Family, and how it has affected policies over the centuries, both at home and abroad. Some good, some bad..

I believe that, whether or not you believe in the concept of a monarchy, it is only respectful to the memory of a lady who captured hearts all over the world and who instigated the biggest wave of change for the good through the Royal Family for centuries.

I was surprised at how loved Princess Diana was in the US, or certainly in MY part of the US. I think that love and curiosity springs mostly from the "idea" of a fairytale rather maybe from the facts, but that doesnt matter. The "idea" of a fairytale is EXACTLY what is so alluring about the monarchy, and why countries like Canada and Australia, who gained their independence but remain in the Commonwealth have so much TV coverage and interest.

Reading this thread, I wonder what the reaction would have been if this wedding involved Obama, or another high-ranking US figure; most of us "foreigners" would no doubt have been told that it was none of our business as it was not our country..

So, go figure...grin

RE: Royal wedding in UK

thumbs up bouquet

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Not at all.

I just think there is enough bitterness and unhappiness in this world as it is.

If a Royal Wedding spectacle, or the Monarchy as a whole brings joy to some people's lives, then more power to them.

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Not alot really; I was simply making an observation on your previous, sour-sounding post regarding the British Royalty.

grin

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Thats my point. Brian Boru et all spent too much time fighting each other than bolstering up the country as a whole.

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Considering what a mess the Irish Royalty and Clan Leaders made of the country in times gone by, I am not at all surprised you are not in favor of royalty.

Just my opinion, of course.grin

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Well, you can certainly have Philip back.

Kofi Annan, HE IS NOT..doh

RE: Royal wedding in UK

I totally agree. Love them or hate them, the "Mystery" of the Monarchy attracts a huge amount of tourists and tourist income into London, and therefore the whole UK.

Take away Buck Palace, Tower of London, Lambeth Palace, Hampton Court, and all the other royal establishments, and you would end up with much, much less to go see and spend your money on.

RE: online broken heart

I agree.

Whatever brings one happiness in this world is fine by me. Whether longterm or short.

Way too much bitterness and unhappiness in this world to resent anyone having a little pleasure in life.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

That doesnt surprise me, actually.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

Exactly.

thumbs up

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

No, you wouldnt!

I have made my point, and will let you all play now.

grin wave

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

Yes.

And wrong assumptions at that.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

Many assumptions have been made in this thread; many about me also. The fact that I don't know what Im talking about, the fact that Im American, the fact that I dislike and disrespect anyone on welfare..bla bla bla..

That fact that you quoted me kind of made me "assume" you were directing it at me.

That, I think, was a reasonable "assumption".laugh

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

Where the heck did I ever say these things?laugh

Struck a nerve, did I?

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

True, but be prepared to accept that some of those assumptions will be wrong, and have the grace to admit it.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

I admire you for what you did, and kudos to you for that.

However, dont assume what others have done, or where they have been.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

laugh Dont people just Lurve assumptions, Jan?doh grin

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

thumbs up bouquet

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

laugh

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

Well, what?

If you have made a point, I fail to see it here.

RE: Welfare baby solution: Family Cap.

How do you know I havent experienced it? laugh Which would mean I DO know what Im talking about..

Just because I choose not to share it with the world?

Jez..

Anyhoo...handshake
