I think that the older you get, the more you realize whats important and what is not, what is lasting and what is not and what matters most.
Sometimes, people do indeed get more stuck in a rut and find it harder to compromise the older and more time single they are. Sometimes, however, it does make you MORE flexible.
I thought I was well set in my ways before I hooked up, but when I was hooked up I found that I was much more flexible than I thought I was.
Thing is, when people start playing games, they generally forget what they have said and done in the past and eventually always put their foot right in it. They go on a Crusade.
The thumb thing was always going to be abused and used for the wrong purposes.
Funny too, how the ones that use the thumbs most themselves are the ones that posted threads a couple of weeks ago whining about them when they themselves got them. Subjective memories, or what?
A couple of weeks ago there was a virtual "rash" of complaints about the red thumbs. I note that none of the posters in those threads have posted in this one.
If you a "friend" of the poster in such threads, they cry Alas, Poor Poster. If you are not, they red thumb you. It is so obvious and predictable, it is laughable, and the Mods are aware.
Anyway, its 9pm here; no doubt the Night Shift Thumbers will be on soon, so thats something to look forward to, at least...
You are a longtime poster here, well liked and respected. Dont let idiots and vindictive people run you off. The thumbs thing was amusing to start with; now, its simply a cowardly, cliquey thing. The silly, vindictive people you speak of have nothing better to do.
Take no notice, and it is so good to see you and other old time posters back here recently. Im off back out to the front porch to enjoy the sunset.
Its when you try and quote a long post. It counts those characters as well. Best thing to do is post the quote you are posting to, and then post your own separately. Hope that helps.
The arguments about me and D used to have when I first got here! It was complete miscommunication, because he - like most New Yorkers - speaks very quickly. I dont; I speak quite slowly. I used to think he was deliberately interupting me, when he thought I had finished speaking.
RE: Red Thumbs...pleas enlighten me.
Me neither, and Im at work now, so I just find it amusing and it makes the shift go quicker!Hope you are feeling a tad better today, CC.
