RE: I wonder why........

That would be nice, CC. And you are right.

But some just simply dont WANT to. They prefer the drama.

I think the cause is lost already, CC. The thumb is so far up their butt its impossible to find now..blues

RE: I wonder why........

Because when one attempts to be upfront, and talk TO people, they dont like it.

I totally agree with your sentiments, CC. Get it out, and get over it. Sorted.thumbs up

It means that it "bumps" it up again in the thread list, Monts. It is done often to bring up old threads to push other, inflammatory or scammer floods down, or to bring an older post up to bring it to people's attention.

Done all the time.

Well, I knew you did, Conrad, but I waited for you to say it!laugh handshake

People can do the red thumb shimmy all they want.laugh

The reason the thread was bumped was two-fold: one, because its an interesting thread, and two, because the content of it completely validates a point I have just made in another thread.

I have only had to ban one person before from a thread of mine; I had tried not to do it. But tonight I had to ban two, despite not wanting to.

For the rest of you, many thanks again for posting so far.handshake

Hi Jan. Thanks for your post.hug

Well, in future I for one will be asking for deposits the next time I take any reservations for teams of anyone, irrespective of their age!

Your comment about the kids coming from wealthy families resonates with me, because as I said earlier in the thread, these kids seemed quite middle class and certainly not deprived. Depraved, maybe!! I think any children that had come from less privilaged backgrounds probably would have had more respect for the property.

Thank you for all your interesting posts.

Appreciate your comments so far.

I dont think teachers should have the sole responsibility for teaching morals but I do think they should be there to continue the work that the parents should have already done, so I would agree with both you and Chris on this.

Yep, teaching morals never ends I suppose. Thats true enough. handshake

Anyway, back to the subject at hand..

Exactly, BB. Many generations have gone through bad times, and have not resorted to criminality on every occasion.

One can protest loudly and effectively, without turning areas of a beautiful city into a war zone.

The bank issue is not an issue for this thread, so maybe you should start one of your own?dunno

And I truely think you are just arguing for the sake of argument, now.

Apart from the fact that I would imagine it is more likely that the CEOs of humongous stores like Walmart and Harrods OWN the banks, I cannot see what the subject of banks have to do with the thread, but there you go..

Hey chris..

Yes, I completely agree. thumbs up By the time the kids are in their teens, they have been received their moral grounding for life, so if they have not learnt the value of things by then I dont believe they ever will.

handshake

Accountability and Responsibility

Physically yes. Morally and legally, no.

Which is why the original question was, and is, moot.

Accountability and Responsibility

Maybe you would like to explain your points, instead of writing one-liners? You seem to have one to make, which at the moment escapes me, certainly in relevance to the thread at hand.

Accountability and Responsibility

Quite.roll eyes

We created the technology; we now have to live with it.

Whoever paid for them.

Accountability and Responsibility

Your argument is moot. Purely because the answer is obvious, and I can see this going completely off-topic.

The original thread was regarding a group of seemingly middle-class kids, very well shod and clothed, who had no idea of respect for others' property at all.

handshake

Accountability and Responsibility

You miss the point. It doesnt matter if they cannot afford shoes. It gives them no right to commit criminal damage.

And maybe take SOMEONE ELSE'S designer shoes, who scrimped and saved to get them.

Does it?

dunno

You see, this is what is wrong. Too many excuses are made for people who, whatever their reasons, are vandals, rioters and hoodlums.

No excuses.
