Speaking personally, these days I am mostly on while I am at work (like now) doing 8-hour shifts, or sat next to my guy having a giggle together at the forums.
Plenty of non-CS time is spent, and although my profile may say I am logged in (because I generally never turn my pc off, only put it into sleep mode), it can show I am online when I am actually not.
In any respect, it is not healthy to spend every living hour together and give up many other aspects of your life that make you smile, or simply stimulate you.
My question that I asked in my post was are you saying you have never told a white lie in your life? Maybe your "noooo..." was the answer to that question, but it was unclear.
The white lie issue was just one of the things mentioned in the OP, and I found it an interesting one, is all..
Well, an honest answer to my question would be in order then..
It has got nothing to do with reading people's minds, or looking inside someone's head. It has to do with common sense, humanity and admitting that some things apply to the majority of the human race.
Telling white lies on occasion would come into that category, I think.
Maybe its just me, but I cannot understand what the fascination is with making fun of others, whether they are or they are not a scammer.
In my humble opinion, the term 'scammer' is bandied about way too often; a little like troll. I have seen people called scammers in the past who turned out to not be, and it was very sad to see.
Some members, who do not speak very good English, can post something and come across as a little "weird", purely because their English is not perfect. Their tone can be misunderstood and their meaning confused.
Yes, there are definately nasties out there and there always will be, but I think it is dangerous to get carried away with all this and I personally do not involve myself in any thread that involves the Scammer Police or the ridicule of people whose English is less than perfect.
We moan and lament the lack of new members, and then, when an unfamiliar member posts away, in a way that may be looked at as strange or abrupt, they are driven out, it seems..
We must be bored indeed if all we have to post about is this kind of garbage...
The worst time was definately Christmas time. It seemed like the world and its mother had a partner, and I was the only person on the planet who was single.
Of course, thats not the case, but I can totally understand where you are coming from.
I agree. Many of us are out and about in the good weather. I tend to be on mostly late in the evenings, when I come home from work. I use it as a way to unwind. Its Labor Day weekend now though, and I have three days off, so am out painting on my front porch! Happy as a Sandboy! Just come in for some lunch.
As regards people leaving, I think it is no big deal. 99.9999% of people who say they are leaving return at some point or another. Sometimes, as I myself have found, its extremely beneficial to take a break, either voluntarily or involuntarily, as its easy to take this world too seriously if you use it as your sole source of social life.
I have tried to start threads to liven things up, I even posted a Welcome thread to encourage new members as I felt, being a long-term member, I had some responsibility to do something. However, not much resulted from that.
I think its a combination of the weather, this thumbs up and down thing, and not enough posters starting good, new threads.
The health system here is the biggest thing I dislike about the US. I cannot understand why they do not introduce a system like the NHS; its proven, works well and everyone wins.
I cant admit to knowing the ins and outs of US politics and the reason why they have not introduced this system, but I assume its "All About The Money".
It sucks..
Im so glad that I broke my ankle a year BEFORE I moved here; i'd still be paying for it now otherwise..
The price of prescriptions varies immensely here in this area too; Rite Aid, Walmart, Walgreens and Kinneys are all different prices, but I have found the cheapest one and stick to it now.
Today is the 14th anniversary of the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Whatever your thoughts are on royalty and monarchy, there is no denying that Diana Spencer brought a breath of fresh air into the stuffy royal circle, acted as a great ambassador for both Britain in general and the Royal Establishment and was a strong, caring women in her own right.
I didnt want to let this day go without a mention, and to say how much Britain lost the day she died.
Yes, Dublin is a very comsopolitan city now. I was out of Ireland for a few years, after living there for many years and when I returned to Dublin I was amazed at how it had changed. Many different nationalities, culture diversity and it was great. Much more open.
RE: Honesty
Brilliant example!!!! I dont know how many times me and mine have sat watching that, and said "Hasnt anyone ever told them they cant sing??"
