"Don't you think it's a bit rushed?"

Those were the exact words my then-roommate asked me, when I told him I was moving out. I gave him two weeks notice, so it wasn't like I was moving out from one day to the next.

Let's rewind the time a bit, to April 17, 2021. At that time, I had been living there for almost 3 years, and I am amazed I lasted that long.

I could feel the tension in the air after my covid diagnosis. Almost like he was looking for a reason to kick me out. I decided to beat him to the punch and find something else, before that happened. I told him, that I had found a room that was cheaper, but smaller, and in a different city. At this point, he began to ask me "I think that's very rushed. You need to pack down your entire room, everything of yours in the kitchen and on the bathroom. Are you sure you can pack it all in a few days? What about internet? Do you know how fast the speed is there? Do you even know the type of internet you will get? You will not be able to play online games or be on Discord while he is using the internet. I know he will not be as good at network stuff as I am. He will not be as technical as I am. He will not be remotely as nice as I am. I predict you will have a lot of problems with him".. He was one of those people who loved to show off with his educations, his money and his stupid PS5 that he "was the first in Denmark to receive".

I had to shout "hang on, you don't even know the guy, how can you know all these things?". He looked at me and went "Trust me, I know these things. I am an educated IT engineer". I also had to explain to him, that I didn't have much anyway, and that I would be finished packing within three hours. He didn't believe me, so I told him "Time me. From when I say go until I am finished. I could see on his facial expression, that he really didn't believe me, so he said "Fine, I will time you. If you cross the three hour mark, I will let you know. Begin".

Two and a half hours later, I was done packing the room.

The day before I was going to move, I had agreed with my then-roommate to haul the boxes into his daughters bedroom, that was located next to the room I was renting. I wanted to haul everything down the stairs, so it was ready to move out, once my sister and her boyfriend came to help me. My then-roomate was out, so I asked him if I could just haul the stuff down and place it in a way, that they would be able to go into the kitchen to get food and drinks. "No problem," was the answer, so I hauled everything down.

You can probably see where this is going.. When he came home, he flipped a switch and said it wasn't what we agreed to do, and that there were no space for them to move around. That I should have waited for him to get home, before I hauled the things down.

At this point, I was done. I decided to just let it go in one ear, and out the other. I only had about 12 hours left there anyway, so I sucked it up.

When my sister and her boyfriend arrived, I wasted little time and began to haul all my stuff down to the parking lot. I didn't want any help from my then-roommate, since I didn't want any of his help. Fifteen minutes later, the trailer was packed, and I was off to the new place.

However, before I left, I went into the living room and said the following: "I will come and clean the room next weekend. When that is done, there is to be no more contact between us, until I decide to contact you. Please respect that".

"Alright.", was his final word to me. With that, I closed the front door, went down the stairs and out into the car, that was waiting.

A few days later, I bumped into his mother and brother. I told them that I had moved to a different city. The brother was very surprised, and asked why. "There's history there. That's as much as I'll say on that". He respected that, and we parted ways. I then took the train to my new home.

Then my phone rang.. The caller ID was my former roommate..

Why is it that females expect males to put up photos when a lot won’t themselves

A photo could be years older and would be wrong to give the impression of being younger
Good look to all who do but there are some that prefer the mail and the meeting up in a public place

Making plans for the USA! (part 5)

I know, I said that the next update would be when I had saved up enough money for my trip. I did not tell the truth.. I'm sorry..

Anyway - in this episode, we will go over my latest acquirement: the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, also known as ESTA. What is an ESTA, I hear you ask? Well.. I'm glad you asked!

Any tourist in the Visa Waiver Program, VWP for short, needs an authorization to travel to the USA. If you don't have it, you are not getting into the USA - full stop. It's 21 USD to get, so it's not the most expensive thing in the world. On the application form, you need to give the following information: The applicant must provide the following information:

Full name and gender
Other names or aliases, if any
Date and city of birth (according to passport)
Country of nationality and passport
Other nationality including historic, if any
Passport number and expiration date
Address
Parents' names, if known
Employer's name and address, if any
Emergency contact, name, phone and address
U.S. point of contact information (a person, business or hotel one intends to visit)
Whether the applicant is a member of Global Entry

Applicants must also specify whether any of the following applies to them by way of yes/no answers.

Applications will be denied if the applicant:
Has a physical or mental disorder posing a threat to others, or is a drug abuser, or has one of certain contagious diseases such as cholera, diphtheria, tuberculosis, plague, yellow fever, ebola or severe acute respiratory illnesses

Has ever been arrested or convicted for a crime that resulted in serious damage to property, or serious harm to another person or government authority

Has ever violated any law related to possessing, using, or distributing illegal drugs

Plans to engage in or has ever engaged in terrorist activities, espionage, sabotage, or genocide

Has committed fraud or misrepresented oneself or others to obtain, or assist others to obtain, a visa or entry into the United States

Intends to seek employment in the United States or was previously employed in the United States without prior permission from the U.S. government

Has been denied a U.S. visa, or been refused admission to the United States at a U.S. port of entry

Has previously stayed in the United States longer than the admission period

Has traveled to Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011

Seeing as I'm not a danger to any form of society, my application was approved within two hours. This doesn't mean that I'm safe to enter the USA, though. An airport security person can still reject me, if they feel that I'm not honest about my visit to the States. Should that happen, I would be put on the first flight back home. But I'm quite confident that I will not be rejected at the border, and that I'm allowed to have a week full of fun and shenanigans in the USA. I have so much to see and so much to do!

Woe is me!

My birthday is fast approaching, and all I wish for is to spend a few days (with Sweetie in tow) at a beach house/hotel/BnB, but so VERY FEW of the venues are 'pet-friendly'. And those that are, are either booked up or nowhere near a beach.

I thought of offering to pay extra, but didn't even get a chance to; perhaps I should have done that when I enquired about costs. hmmm Good grief! Why is accommodating a pet such a problem, especially at a Beach house/hotel/BnB? Is it because of the sand, the salt water? If so, wouldn't the same concerns apply to human beings. And pet poop isn't that much of a fuss to clean, especially when one has potty-trained, well-behaved pets, so I really don't understand the reluctance. dunno

Woe is me!blues moping The search continues...

Done with Christmas shopping!

Today, I got the urge to buy all the remaining gifts for Christmas.. Well, I am still missing my mom's gift, but my sister and I decided to split that gift between us, since I am almost broke. I know, we are two days into the month, but it's expensive buying Christmas gifts. Especially since I have to buy FIVE gifts. That really messes up my budget. I could plan ahead and save up, so I could give the best gifts ever.. I might actually do that starting next year. Yes, that's a plan! 500 a month for 12 months is 6000. For that I can give some pretty big gifts. And it gets even easier doing that, when I am starting the training part of my education. I will be paid double of what I am now, and if I can somehow get a rent that is below 2000 a month, I could EASILY save up at least 1500 a month. Times that by 12, and you have.. One sec.. Calculator time.. Talk among yourselves.. So 1500 times twelve is.. 18.000.. Oh boy for that I could give HUGE gifts.. But in the end, it's the thought that counts. And I am usually good at finding cheap gifts that hit the mark dead on. Like the time I went to my cousin's wedding. I lived in Scotland at the time, so I thought "wouldn't it be ace to give them a plot of land in Scotland, as well as granting them the title of Lord and Lady of Glencoe?".. So I did just that, and it hit the mark for real!

Anyway, I did also buy some food, that I need to prepare tomorrow. I bought two kilos of minced pork/beef, that I will mix with some spices to create, at least according to me, the best tasting meatballs - ever! Oh BOY it's gonna be AMAZING! And the fact that I have half a baguette in the kitchen somewhere makes it the best lunch - EVER! A meatball baguette - with mayo, lettuce, some cucumber and freshly fried meatballs! Oh wow I should open up a sandwich shop (or a sarnie shop, as they say in the UK). Apart from that mince and the spices, I also bought a lasagna, that you just have to pop in the oven. And I have pizza bases, fish fillets and chicken burger patties in the freezer, so I should be good for at least 20 days. Plus I have a LOAD of pasta I can boil, if I get really boring. And rice.. In bags.. Because for the life of me, I CANNOT boil rice if they are loose.. But other than that, I guess I am pretty good in a kitchen.. I just need to learn how to cook some more challenging stuff.. Like a beef wellington. Never had that before, but it sounds delish!

One more thing: I had a look at how close I am to finding my own place, and I am currently number 1001. I was at number 999 yesterday, so it keeps fluctuating, which is fine. It gives me more time to save up for the deposit. I need 10.040 for the deposit, plus 4481 for the first months rent, and the rent for where I am now, making the grand total 17.961.. My goal now is to save up so I have 20.000 on my savings account, which hopefully is doable. Otherwise, I will have to ask my family if they can help with the rest of what I need. Hopefully they say yes, but they know I really want to leave this place I am at now..

But for now, I will suck it up and stay put. And make sure I save up as much as I can!

If you are stuck for an idea for a holiday gift.

I know I'm not easy to buy a gift for.
Since I am empathetic and am sensitive to your needs,
I am going out of my way to give you an acceptable option.
Sure, I've suggested a Lamborghini in years past.
Amazingly, that is still an option and even if someone else gifts me one,
another would not be refused.

However, if you truly want to be considered unique, here's a different option.
Here's the details & photos;
