There was a joke suggestion on FB re the perfect Christmas gift for writers so naturally I re-posted it on the spot but it got me thinking. Perfect gifts cost the giver nothing but time and a bit of thought, and delight the receiver.

What else qualifies as a perfect gift? A bunch of wild flowers is the only other one I can think of. Nice but a bit – boring. There have to be other things in this crass commercial world which have no cash price yet are priceless. When we were kids, hell, easy – parents finding time to play a game of our choosing with us was the best gift of all.

Tough to work out what someone else would like. Perhaps there’s something real and achievable you’d really prefer to a pair of socks or another woolly or silky scarf for your collection. If you could share, that’ll give us all ideas

And yeah the grownup version of ‘finding time to play with us’ would go down well but not all of us have someone to oblige

Today I bought a virtual condo using virtual currency that I invented
I also imported a couple of virtual wives from Asia,tried them both out,kept the best and have on sold the other.
She is the perfect wife and after cooking and cleaning for me while I spend all my virtual time on CS she is hard out painting and re decorating the condo inside and out.
I have to log out now as she is virtually finished but has run out of paint so I'm off to the virtual store to buy more.

Good job Donald. I'm sure that achievement will stand alone in the annals of Presidential elections.

As a child, the fair was THE event of the summer. There wasnt much else for stuff. Drive in movies, root beer stand, cruising. The whole area geared up for the fair. Women baked and canned and sewed to win a ribbon. Men got their demo cars and tractors ready. Artists created what they hoped would net that blue ribbon. Kids did stuff in school to see on display at the fair. 4H kids raised their animals and taught them to enjoy a bath. Businesses prepared booths to hawk their stuff as well as vendors. The Farm Bureau and Fire Department set up their food sales. Mobile food trailers offered heartburn at outrageous prices along with free flies. That was FLIES not fries.
My parents and I went on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon. The midway was packed with neighbors and huge gab fests filled the grounds. Kids went in mobs to fill up on cotton candy, corn dogs and ride the rides to get sick. Couples chased kids and young couples walked hand in hand oblivious to all.
Mom rode the Tilt a Wheel and Scrambler with me. Dad rode the Ferris wheel with me. If lucky I got to play a couple of games that dad thought were a rip off. At night, the lights looked like Las Vegas. Sunday everyone went to collect their stuff and watch the roadies tear down the rides.
My guy and I went this Wednesday. Give that it was a weekday. Yet, that was not all that was wrong. The rides were running with one person aboard. Only one vendor was selling his clothes. The buildings were sparse. Where once they had to build another one because they couldn't pack any more booths in, there were vast spaces between them now. The building for Bingo was empty. The antique tractor pull had maybe 5 tractors and few people in the grandstand.
I checked the animals. Cows there were, being pampered for show and sale. But sheep and goats offered a handful each as well as hogs. 6 goats does not a show make.
We didnt ride the rides, nor ate anything, had parked in the car show with his 58 Ford low rider truck. Not paying $7 for a pretzel or mug of hand made soda.
Now every town has 6 "events" a year. Water parks compete, shows, attractions of all kinds. Along with people who dont create, dont farm, sit on game consoles and Smart phones and talk to everyone on Zoom and Tic Toc. The sad part is most of it is for money. Not to enjoy a community of neighbors.
Guess being a recluse is fine since no one cares anymore.

An anonymous source has revealed, that Trump knows he has lost. He is also a bit angry over his loss to Biden, but he also enjoys the chaos he is creating. Apparently, "The President is supporting one outlandish conspiracy theory after another. He is not necessarily believing any of them, but he knows they sow chaos, which gives him time to think about what is next".

So.. What IS next for Trump, when he leaves The White House next year. He needs something else to throw his attention towards, except golf and Twitter. What could that be? Here are my four possible picks.

4: A new book deal!

Trump could easily sit down with a ghost writer to write a memoir about his time in The White House. People will buy it. He has 71 million possible books to sell, so why not cash in while he can? Rumor has it, that he is set to receive offers in excess of 100 million dollars. He could also cash in on TV and movies as well

3: Consulting work for a TV station!

Speaking of TV.. It is no secret, that Trump likes the spotlight. He could possibly become a commentator on Fox News or OANN. OANN seems most likely, since Fox News seems to take a more hardline stance on Trump.

2: His own TV network!

He could call it MAGA-TV, and he could easily pull some big names with him. Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Tucker Carlson of Fox News, since he seems to like them the most. He could possibly buy OANN andrename it MAGA-TV. People would watch, definitely!

Honorable mentions!

This wouldn't be a list, without honorable mentions. Trump could throw his attention to his empire, and relaunch some of his previously failed brands. Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka and Trump: The board game seems like the obvious choices. He could buy a cattle farm and raise the cattle for his steaks, grow some potatoes for the vodka, and the board game would sell like hotcakes!

This brings me to number 1:

He could go in full 2024 mode, and decide to run for President again. Assuming that his base stays intact, that is 71 million+ people who would vote for Trump again. I know there are many that would like to see Trump in jail, or at least prosecuted for felonies he committed before he was elected POTUS.

In either case: Once the states certifies their results, it will be over for Trump. Then the USA can go back to having a President, that is perhaps a bit boring and normal. Someone who hasn't been on television as a reality host. Whatever happens, I will be watching with excitement.

I read he was a fashion setter for men because of celebrity and being single but ruled for less than a year until he abdicated the throne in order to marry his lover, Wallis Simpson, and then he became the Duke of Windsor.

At some point I read he may have passed information to Germany and encouraged the Nazis to bomb Britain. Can something like this happen again today.

Should all heads of Monarchies be so trustworthy and be like Edward VIII? I am amazed today that Monarchs the world over are rich and live in splendor while their subjects live in meager existence adoring the royalty.
