what is your Internet dating routine?

when you meet someone on the internet on a site like site CS? I read several times on forums how it "should be done". People start to email first, sometimes every day, then talk on msn, web cam or phone, sometimes every day too, then meet. I don't get it. Why so much talking? What is there to talk about? The most essetual is meeting anyway, nothing is more important than this. Especially if you meet someone from the blogs, you probably know him/her pretty well already. My routine was if that was in sweden to see each other on a photo, if we like each other physically, talk in a couple of emails and decide that we want the same thing of a relationship, then meet as soon as possible. If a date was abroad, we did the same thing, we decided that we like each other and what we want to do together, then basically didn't talk any more and just met when we had that possibility. I may fantisize a lot about him and our meeting and he about me. When we meet we do things together and talk inbetween which seems more natural to me. I am a talkative person in real life and like talkative people. You can talk a lot on the net before and then meet and don't like each other anyway so it was all for nothing, otherwise you can discuss anything you want further in person. Is there is a point in it anyway? If you mean that you want to know a person you are going to meet really well, there is no way to really know a person, also because we change all the time. I lived with my husband for 7 years and he did something I never expected from him, I thought I knew him. I had another relationship for 15 years and I suprised him(and myself) a lot this time, I have changed totally relationship-wise compared to 3 years ago.
So how do you do it, if you talk a lot before meeting, what do you talk about?
PS. I never talk on webcam, or skype, msn or phone with anyone. I had a lot of dates without ever talking on the phone. I have friends that I have known for years and never talked to them other than on email or in person. I know it is unusual but it is possible.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

I'm taking a guess here, But i would like to think that most of us had some sort of "cubby House" as we were growing up. confused
A temporary pillow fort or maybe something more permanent like a treehouse. A place where some sort of childhood magic occurred.
Crazy adventures during the day or ghostly stories and secret missions at night. (mainly bombing the other neighborhood kids cubbies.) scold
What great times they used to be for me and the group of friends i had back then. Excellent times to be had in all sorts of places that seemed so normal and banal.
Stories of stories create different stories, muddying the waters in the retelling of them, making more "you had to be there moments".
Why am i living in the past?
WELL,
During my self imposed or otherwise sabbatical, these past couple of months or so, reading the blogs bought all those childhood memories flooding back to me.
The crazy adventures, the scary stories, the rehashing of old gags, the warmth of friendships.
They say life can and does complete a full circle.
The blogs i think, have become the replacement "cubby house". Its a place where a group of friends go to hang out and have a good time. Sometimes being bombed by the next neighborhood "adults".
Still it's all in good fun, or at least it was way back then, and i hope it is today.
It would be remiss of me not to mention Cat, I, like many others here in the CS BLOG "cubby house" wish him a speedy and full recovery.
Friends from a bygone era are being replaced by friends in this a new era, I cherished my friendships growing up, as i cherish my new found friends.
Friendship is not something you learn in school, But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.
I'm stoked that i can still wander through the neighborhood and find a "cubby house" where many come to share their stories both past and present.
In closing
IMMMM BAACCKKK...... doh

There is always a little Truth behind every "Just kidding"
A little Knowledge behind every "I don't know”
A little Emotion behind every "I don't care”
And a little Pain behind every "it’s okay".

Count Your Blessings

Sometimes we stare ourselves so blind into our own problems that we forget that others may have worse problems. I once read that if you could choose between your own problems and that of somebody else, you will always pick your own. sigh

This is because your problems are unique to you and only you are equipped to deal with them. You will not cope with the next person’s problems. Only that person is capable of doing that.

The next time that you feel that your problems are getting too much for you, lift your eyes and look over them; or wear your X-Ray glasses and look straight through them. Look at all the wonderful things out there and appreciate them. Those are the things that make life worth living.

Early in the year 2000, six months before my mother died, she had a stroke that left her one side crippled. She walked with a bad limp and her one arm was useless.

Whenever one of us children went there, she would make us tea or coffee all the time; battling with one hand – with a determination that came close too obsession; refusing help.

She was a deeply religious woman who prayed constantly, but I never heard that she asked God to ‘fix’ her hand. Instead she thanked God for leaving her capable of still being able to do something for her children.

I did not want to drag my mother in here, but this was the best example I could think of. Look beyond the problems. There so many other things to be grateful for!

Have a wonderful Sunday and to those who are back at the salt mines already, keep it coming!

About Religion

I just saw a post in a blog which made me remember a thing from the past ...

A long time ago when My son was about one and a half or two years old ...

My Mother was bathing my son and as he loves to splash and play in the bathtub ,my mother had some real troubles to get hem out of the water so I wrapped him in a big bathing towel and carried him to the bed to be dressed . He kept jumping on the bed,but naked all jolly and happy and at one moment my mother said, oh be still for God`s sake ... So he looked at me and asked "Who is God"
I had no clue how to explain it to a child whiteout being subjective ... I mean I had no intention to give him my version of who or what , God is ...

How would you explain it to a child...

MARRIAGE, Are You For It? Or Not?

If so why?

When two people truly feel the connection and commit to the relationship, is there a a substantial difference whether they just go on living together without the documents? Or without it.

Opinions and experiences are welcomed and I know this is a very well debated argument, but I would like to share our experiences, opinions or simply ideas on this one.

Recently, my country had been really spending billions of dollars on considering the enactment of a law to recognize the marriage not only limited to a woman and man. Most states already are and in California, it is already a recognized law. Quite frankly, I don't know why it is such a big deal. To me, anyone who wants to get married, why not. As long as it doesn't harm anyone????

NOTE: Do you, to your knowledge, in your country, has any benefit economically? i.e. tax, support, medical, etc.etc.? (In my country, blanket benefits are enforced and applied favorably to the union of marriage) I can elaborate if needed..

VALUES AND TRADITIONS CHANGED RADICALLY OVER THE YEARS, AT LEAST TO MY CULTURE (FILIPINO, AND BEING CATHOLIC, FOR THAT MATTER) AND SO IS THE WESTERN WORLDS. I AM NOT LIMITING THIS TO ANY RELIGIOUS AFFILIATIONS AND OR CULTURAL GROUPS..BUT I WOULD LIKE ALSO TO HEAR FROM THE YOUNG GENERATIONS AS TO HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT IT. I am more into the personal reasons why it should or it should't be in a marriage.

Thank you all so much.

Like a Stunned Rabbit

Embedded image from another site

With her mesmerising eyes, I was like a stunned rabbit in the glare of the oncoming trucks headlights.

Frozen, to afraid to move, and if I could move, which way would I go?
Her smile is as wide as the ocean and as bright as the brightest star. It too kept me in a trance.
Her cheeks, rosy and round, the long flowing locks of her hair fall below her strong broad shoulders.
Here I am trapped, but I don’t feel trapped, more like stuck in some sort of time warp.
Everything is moving in slow speed, but in reality, travelling at a million miles an hour.
I brace for the collision, the colliding of hearts banging together to beat as one.
Emotions are stirring within, Emotions that tingle like pins and needles. Emotions I thought were no longer possible.
Like a tsunami, memories are gushing back, good, funny, sad, haunting memories, it felt right to share.
Her voice is soft, pronounced, commanding, and sweet, it has a magical ring to its tones.
Though the world is not perfect, just now, it is for me, the feeling of excitement, like parachuting for the very first time, like skiing down the mountain and not falling.
Everest was conquered, and I’ll conquer this mountain as well, for what waits atop, is more than I could possibly deserve.

Not a new man, but a refreshed man, a man with more purpose in my life than before.
This is my second chance at achieving a fulfilment we all have seeked at one time or another.
The lessons I have learnt are now invaluable.
If this is a dream, I do not want to awake, Should it be a dream then I intend to make it a reality.

The above was inspired by someone who has turned my life upside down and inside out, shaken and dusted it off.

To that person,

THANK YOU teddybear blushing

Want Ads...

Describe here, if you care too, your ideal partner/relationship. MINE goes like this:

I want a best friend who has my interests at heart: one who will never try to control/manipulate me except by whatever sway simply loving me honestly would allow him -- because I trust his motivations. A man who will reason with me when I am being rash; who will enjoy my ardor and enthusiasm and adventure with me. A man who will trust me implicitly and about whom I can feel the same. Someone brilliant and tender and rational and wild and playful who would never consider striking me even when driven to distraction by some wreckless thing I'd done. I want a man's who smiles despite himself when he thinks of me, whose eyes shine when he looks at me, and whose arms ache to hold me; a real man, who knows that tenderness and self control are very manly indeed and who sees opportunities to indulge me/us as delightful tributes to the depth of his passion. And I mean to recognize and reward his every gesture of affection and esteem.

With all of that, we ought to be able to build a relationship that elevates life from delightful to ecstatic.

Your turn, if you care to be so bold. Or you can be silly. I like silly/whimsy very much. grin teddybear bouquet

Horoscopes Reloaded 2

Any resemblance between real people and these horoscopes are absolutely intentional. As promised, today we can have a look at bulls and twins. And as with the previous, I relied on cutting and pasting to some extend.grin

Taurus Birth date: 20 April - 20 May
Taurus is a cow… apologies, a bull. Cows give milk; bulls give you nothing but grunts and snorts. They take whatever they want, whenever they want it - your food, your favorite chair, your time, your energy, your money, your stuff - it's all theirs. They just graze through life, eating everything in their paths.

Taureans are known for their sense of humor and their ability to laugh at the weirdest things. They have an uncanny ability to pick winning lottery numbers. Research tells us that Taureans are at least as likely as other people to win the jackpot. Their lucky numbers are anything between 1 and 100.

They are excellent embezzlers and are often employed as bank mangers. Other popular occupations for them include teachers, waste-disposal-experts, doctors, builders, plumbers, computer programmers, funeral directors, and impersonators.

All Elves are all born under this sign due to the Elf mating season being only a few days long towards the end of July. This means that the average height of the Taurus male is around 4ft 3in, whilst the female average is approximately 3ft 9in. With their warped sense of humor that works as a defense against their height deficiency, Taureans are said to be excellent lovers but for some unknown reason, lousy dancers.

They bear grudges about things that never happened. This may stem from the feelings of inadequacy resulting from being beaten by Aries for the first place in the zodiac line up.

Taurus is ruled by Venus - goddess of stuff and money.

If you are impatient and pushy; forever in hurry to intending to get to the nowhere, you were born under this sign.

Gemini Birth date: 21 May - 21 June
Gemini is a pair of twins and can't stick to one decision for a minute; totally nuts. Don't date with a Gemini unless you want to go insane. The one will love you while the other will cheat you and you will never know who is who.

Most people born under the sign of Gemini are schizophrenic. Not all Gemini are affected, some are charming, social and intelligent beings who won’t poke their fingers in your eyes.

They are progressive, outgoing, and one of the most popular rides at a party but all that can change in the time it takes to sneeze. They are highly competitive, cannot resist it to take risks, and are likely to accept the any bet without thinking.

Geminis are always on some sort of medication though not always legal. They talk a lot but mercifully mostly to themselves and will often pick animated arguments with themselves in the bath or shower.

Dates are important to Gemini and they will only rarely forget birthdays, anniversaries or any other occasions on which they can purposefully avoid sending greeting cards or presents.

They drive funny color cars with lots of contradictory bumper stickers and will often drive them into trees or buildings. Gemini often is ambidextrous and can be recognized in public by the ability to pick both nostrils at the same time. In a nutshell, Gemini is a paranoid Aquarius.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury – the god of mind-tripping.

If you are pushy, overbearing, liking to pick fights with small children and forever harassing the wedded couple at weddings, you were born under this sign.

Ok, so there you are. If you were born under one of these signs, I’m sure that you would have recognized yourself.tongue

A good day to ya all and avoid talking to bulls and twins after they read this.wave

Would you partake in an open relationship?

I am not sure what I think of this. Let's say you run across this hot guy or woman and he/she is married. He/She expresses that their spouse and them are in an open relationship and there is no doubt about that. Would you partake in a s*xual fling with them?
