Why Marry An Older Man?

We often see young girls marrying an older men. Some would say that she is just looking for a father figure in her life but there may be more to it than that.scold

For one, she may be looking at his secure financial status; life is not cheap these days and there may be some advantage in being an old man’s darling in the stead of a young man’s slave. Financial stability can be a big tie breaker. Starting off in a 3 bed room house may be preferable to starving in a one room apartment.daydream

And then an older man is generally more mature and sophisticated with a quiet confidence and years of experience and is more than often a good listener.wine

He will normally be patient, punctual and will display good old fashioned values like opening the door or pulling out the chair for you. Good manners go a long way. You will find him dependable and he won’t keep you waiting for hours, nor will he get upset when you stray off the topic.hmmm

An older man can be a great teacher and you can greatly benefit from his greater experience while deeper his wisdom and ability to listen will prevent him from forcing it onto you.professor

But most of all, he can be too good a friend to lose because the relationship will mean more to him than the sex. Physical intimacy is the cherry on the cake and not the object of the issue. He has done his conquering and has nothing to proof. If it happens then it does, if not, then so be it.hug

So there may be more in an older man that meets the eye and that sexy young girl who dropped her hunk to marry an old man was perhaps much smarter than what you give her credit for.wow

The Choice To Comment.

A few days ago I received a PM from a fellow blogger asking me why I never comment on his blog. How do you reply to such a question? Is it not is my right to decline commenting on certain blogs as I feel fit. But maybe I must explain how I see it?confused

I have a few friends and I comment on their blogs as a courtesy most of the time, regardless of whether I find it interesting or not.thumbs up

If I do not like a blog or if I do not agree with the blog, I move on to the next blog without even reading the comments. If I cannot add something positive or amusing to a blog, I won’t comment on it unless if it is somebody I know well enough to speak my mind.

A blog containing just a picture, a video, a poem or a question is also not very likely to attract my interest if there is no story to accompany it. The same holds true for blogs inviting discussions or blogs being ‘build’ by a few people.conversing

I don’t comment on a blog if it is intended to discredit or to offend, be that aimed at a single person or a group of people.barf

I avoid blogs by people who have previously deleted my comments or who have attacked me in the past and the same goes for blogs where I was attacked by other commentors while the blogger did nothing to protect me. I will never make that mistake again to try and defend myself on another blog.frustrated

On my own blog it is different. I will retaliate in any way I see fit and I will protect myself and my visitors against malicious comments.super

My blog is a reflection of my thoughts. If you disagree with me it is your right to do so. State your disagreement and there is no need for any further discussions. Your opinion is noted and it will not be deleted if it does not contain a personal attack. Likewise, if you like it or agree with my view, tell me about it as well. It can only encourage me to produce more of the same.grin

Recipe for your perfect match?

I noticed something yesterday, I had friends round for a BBQ and they are very much in love, I noticed that they had very similar facial features.

Ive done a lot of research and normal couples do seem to have similar facial attributes, these could be eyes, noses, mouths etc.

I did see that celebrity couples did NOT have any similar facial attributes, that explains why they always seem to have short relationships.

So when looking for that perfect partner and what attracts us to them do they have similar features to us?

Think back to when (if) you were once in a very happy relationship and look for these similarities.

Men ?

Do u still get decent men ?

Throughout my whole life men just wanted to get into my pants.

Why, is this their only goal ?

They don't want a relationship realy, but will go out of their way to try to convince u that they definitely do. They'll swear to it too, until they got into ur pants. If they enjoyed the experience, they will continue in the same line.

Now how do u trust creatures like that ?

Perfecting CS

We seem to have temporarily(?) lost our comments count again.

If the Mods said 'okay smartiepants, you think you can do better?' and put you in charge, what changes would you make?

I know I would like the most current thread comments at the top of the list. When I'm looking for forums and threads to comment on, I like picking jumping ones.

Maybe there's a way of sorting them that way anyway? moping

And for sure if I was in charge I would insist charmers, flirts who never ever meet, players who meet-'n-cheat everyone they can, bounders, easy riders, and scammers were identified in a way that could be fed into a search filter. They all have a role to play, but wouldn't they be more fun if we knew? grin

The friends issue

Family, that’s one thing. Even the whacky relatives are part of the furniture, but friends are different, friends are the family you choose.

So - if your friend makes friends with someone you really dislike, and wants to be all pals together, what do you do? Smile sweetly and play nice? Point out the new friend is a troglodyte? Or just quietly back off because anyone who can have that as a friend is obviously not the person you thought they were?

You can do that with friends, but it happens in relationships too. SHE disapproves of HIS friends, HE thinks HERS are a pain in the proverbial. SHE thinks he spends too much time out with his buddies, and doesn't need so many boys nights out, especially with those particular boys. HE blames her friends for every glitch in the relationship. And so it goes on.

Who do you choose in a case like that? Love me, love my friends / Dump the friends, or dump the love / Lay down ground rules / other. Well, that's why I'm asking, really. Has it happened to any of you, that your new best person has a toxic friend, and how did you handle it?

Advice given - lay them right, you can walk over them for 30 years

Now, is that true? I think I must have been laying them wrong. Or perhaps I didn’t get the best quality in the first place. I do find after a few years they look a bit worn.

But is 30 years the aim, anyway? What if you want a change after, say, 10 years? Then half that hard work initially was for nothing.

I need more advice, I think. Anyone? blues

What A Woman!!!

Last night I met a most extraordinary woman. When she entered the room, she caught my attention like nothing before and I daresay that she had that effect on more than just me.wow

And believe me; it had nothing to do with her dress code . We purposely hold these meetings as early as possible. She arrived in the uniform worn by the admin staff of a nearby hospital, but she looked as fresh as if she just stepped out a shower; certainly not like somebody who had just worked an eight hour shift.grin

It was our monthly neighborhood watch meeting and in the absence of my brother-in-law who is in hospital recovering after surgery, I acted as host. She was the only stranger in the room. I sauntered across to introduce myself and quickly learned that they have just moved into the neighborhood a few days earlier.hmmm

I’d say about fifty, light brown hair starting to gray slightly, not exactly the prettiest woman around, though far from ugly. Maybe a centimeter taller than yours truly but take away the high heeled shoes and she’d be what I consider the perfect length. She was about seven or eight kilos heavier than what I would have liked. To put it in a nutshell, nothing out of the ordinary and another woman just like her would not have gotten a second look.mumbling

But boy, did she radiate an aura. Her presence filled the room. And only then I noticed the man dangling by her side. flirty

She continued to impress me during the meeting. The few questions that she asked were concise and to the point. And though she spoke softly, she could be heard by all. Her voice was probably her greatest asset, next to that aura I spoke about.thumbs up

Afterwards I realized that, other than greeting, her husband did not open his mouth once during the entire evening, so it is pretty clear to me who’s the boss in that household, but what is it that makes an ordinary woman into something so extraordinary, even before she had opened her mouth?confused
