Indian pearl in South Africa

I've been thinking a few days about doing this blog. Finally i'm getting around to it.

It's a dedication to one of the most wonderful people i've met on these blogs so far. Our wonderful Nessa.

We have all seen her as the spicy woman that won't take crap from anyone. Always willing to defend her believes, Always willing to speak up against racism, bullies, and other behaviour that really has no place on these blogs and reality.
For me it has been an honour to stand beside her in so many of those battles. I have so much respect for her.
I know that Nessa didn't like all that fighting, she didn't like all that attention, but she did what needed to be done.
She did that without thinking about herself, her own needs, her own entertainment. She has given up some of her precious time for all of us. Time she would rather have spend with her wonderful man vulpine. Time she would also have enjoyed if she could have just talked with friends or posting positive blogs.

Because trust me.. Nessa is a truly positive person. Her last streak of blogs finally allows her to show this sweet caring side of herself. A side that i have known for a while now and I'm glad others will be able to see this aswell now.
Nessa has a big heart and she loves all of her friends and I for one would like to say at this time.
Nessa you truly are a wonderful friend and I love you for that.
I wish you and vulpine all the luck in the future and I hope you will stay with us for a very long time, because I like having you around. And i'm sure others feel the same way about this.

Catching A Crocodile

There are two ways to catch a crocodile without getting eaten yourself.

The first method is preferred by game wardens. You set out bait and you wait. When the croc comes to the bait, you shoot him with a anaesthetic arrow. You wait again; until you are sure that he is asleep.

Then you tie his front legs together; ditto for his hind legs. You administer another stiff dose of anaesthetics. You tie up his mouth. Then you push a very long pole between his tied up legs. Then tie his tail very well to the pole and carry him off. This method is often used for the purpose of research or relocation.

The alternative method is preferred by the FBI. They send a new recruit into the bush to catch a lizard. After being handcuffed and informed of its rights, they take him to a small room where he will be beaten with batons until he signs a confession that he is a crocodile. This method is often used for the purpose of closing a case.

But now who wants to catch a crocodile?

Meetings....

I have had the pleasure of meeting a few local members from CS, I will not mentioned their names as they are not Bloggers, but in addition to them I have had the pleasure of a visit from our famous/infamous Morg, and Tangerino.dancing cheering

There are a number of other folks I would love to encounter for various reasons.

Some with whom I have inter-acted with on the blogs and others whom I have observed on the blogs. There are some with whom I am in sync and others who would probably rub me up the wrong way. There are a number of bloggers who have "grown onto me", whom I would also love to meet.

I think it would be great to actually meet them all face to face, have a drink, get into some great discussions, and last but not least, have a FANTABALISTIC PARTY...dance drinking conversingbartender drinking conversingdanceline drinking conversingparty group hug drinking drinking conversing conversing Oooops nearly forgot the food pizza burger

Whats in a Name????

In the Still of the night whilst floating thru the Space Odyssey, there were Particolors everywhere.
Some called it St. Elmo’s fire.
Sailing Free towards the Sweet Fire Ball a Lazly Wafwotam with what looked like a Viking or 67 was in the distance.
A Lady from 1980 thought it might have been the star Virgo as it was Single or it could have been Leo in the 7th heaven, but alas it was just a Music Freak. A jumbo 747 or was it a Robrt 787 flew past with Bluener and Redex streams behind it. Morganulv said to not so Plainly June that we should start our JimNastics routine now as we need to loosen up for the Boban1. As the Moonvec brightened the way for us, Simmo1 could see the GoldenHinde in Roxanna21 eyes. A Calliopes Girl said if anyone was to call Cherrie Choco, they would be in serious trouble. She has a Brokenheart or 2412 or whatever the count now was.
As we landed somewhere in the desert, with winds blowing sand all around us, Nessa one to miss an opportunity, we knew there would be a Camel or 2 or 3 or hundreds in fact would be here to take us all back to the safety of CS.

My apologies for those that I have left out,

and my sincerest apologies for those whose names I have used….

I was bored folks, very sorry.

Higher Culture

What makes a person think they are part of a "Higher Culture" in this day and age ?

What are the criteria or characteristics?

Is it Wealth ?
Is it all the real estates they own, or maybe all the family Monetary inheritance they have in the bank and that they don't have to work like the normal people in this world....

Or it Intelligence ?
Do they have to know more about Fine Arts, or classical music or politics.... Have they read more books or have a better knowledge on the world as to the normal person ?

Or is it Religion?
Do you have to be a Christian or Muslim or Buddhist ?

Or Colour of the Skin ?
Do you have to be a certain colour skin or eyes maybe even hair colour or maybe you have to be more beautiful on the outside to be part of a higher culture?

Or their Geographical location on the Map ?
Do you have to part of Europe or America or maybe a Scandinavian country?

Or is it the Food they eat, or etiquette, or moral and principals or is it even the air that they breath maybe it different ......... Lol

Sorry just trying to make sense ... I seen this statement been made a few times and I was wondering what make a person think they are of an higher culture.... :Dunno:

So how many of you believe that you are part of a HIGHER CULTURE and what are your reasons for believing so ?

Love - An unexpected surprise

The most surprising gift of last year was my new love. An amazing man who captured my heart. Last Easter I joined this site when I discovered poetry Corner and that is where I first went every time I logged on. I made some great friends there and then I discovered the blogs. I made some great friends here also although I will admit when I saw all the fighting I almost left but Teddy and Ed encouraged me to stay. Life is really too short to be bickering over incidentals especially online.
I always try to be upbeat and positive as I am a firm believer in the fact that sometimes one kind or positive word can brighten or make a difference in someone's life.
As we start this new year I am very grateful for all the new friends I met here and I say thank you all for being my friends.
As the year progress my time online will most likely be less as it will be divided into work and my new love.
I will still continue to try to stop by occasionally and comment if I can.
I wasn't looking for love as I have stated on my profile but love found me.
It has really been an unexpected surprise.

a prayer for a dear friend... SIMMO

SPECIAL REQUEST FOR A VERY SPECIAL WRITER, BLOGGER AND A FRIEND. LET'S ALL JOIN OUR HANDS TOGETHER IN A MOMENT OF SILENCE AND PRAY.

Thanks all for joining in.

Probably all of us are truly feeling sad today for the passing of a great friend. Simmo.

May I please request all of us to say a prayer for him.

I'm still shocked and as I've been very busy with other things lately I didn't even learn until the blog of Teddy. Thank You Teddy for the info.

I know most of us here that had been for a while knew what happened last year.

Another member on here whom I will not mention her name, broke his heart so he requested my help with another good member to help him in the research of that person. We didn't succeed but him and I had been communicating in our personal mail but never mentioned if he was sick or not. He was absolutely one of the best bloggers on here and I will terribly miss him.

Please join me in a prayer for his soul.

Thank you all so much.

Our dear Simmo wherever you are, we love you.sad flower sad flower sad flower

May you rest in peace.sad flower

HAPPY REDHEAD DAYS, Y'ALL!

Yep. This weekend is dedicated to the World's Smallest Minority...people with naturally red hair. We comprise about 2% or so of Earth's human population - though some might dispute that "human" part. laugh

There are actually several days celebrating Redheads (aka - Gingers) in several lands. Roodharigendag (Redhead Day) celebrated in Breda, Netherlands seems to be taking on a more international aspect. The festival kicks off this evening, and upwards of 5,000 Gingers & 30,000 spectators (Ginger wannabes?) Are expected to take in a wide variety of related activities. Group photos from past years are on the 'net. The Images of thousands of assembled Gingers is quite amazing! wow

Gingers have been variously celebrated applause or maligned very mad throughout history. Any of y'all having Ginger mythology, jokes, or stories are encouraged to share them in the comments below.

Where do Gingers come from?

"While the rest of the species descended from monkeys, redheads derived from cats." cats meow
So said Mark Twain...who was Ginger.

Who might be America's most revered Ginger? Certainly George Washington would have to be a contender. Yep. George Washington. Father of the Country. Ginger! professor

Have fun, y'all! And HAPPY REDHEAD DAYS! gingerbread

(Special thanks to Mimi for bringing Redhead Days to my attention. beer )
