Well that was a waste of time and money

Afghanistan close to falling to the Taliban now . US and UK , possibly Canadian troops going in to cover the removal of western civilians . Would not have mattered which president was running the US as the result would be the same , time frame would have been different . What follows is what Trump has said

Had our 2020 Presidential Election not been rigged, and if I were now President, the world would find that our withdrawal from Afghanistan would be a conditions-based withdrawal. I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable. It would have been a much different and much more successful withdrawal, and the Taliban understood that better than anyone. What is going on now is not acceptable. It should have been done much better.

Better Trumps name is not involved with the military loss in Afghanistan . Pin should have been pulled the day Bin Laden was nailed . NZ lost a few troupies up there . Brother was there in 2001 , he got RTU'ed after calling someone a fat , useless lazy punt .

Don’t be surprised if Novak Djokovic in just a few years will make his comeback as one of the world's biggest sports names.

It is not the first time a world champion has been knocked out for not doing what the politicians ordered him to do. Right now, many are very satisfied - but in hindsight, the process against Nole will be seen as grotesque and completely unreasonable. And people will be ashamed of the racist undertones and lies that the political circus is currently driven by.

Muhammad Ali was also not doing what the politicians demanded. The boxer would not allow himself to enlist in the U.S. Army and take part in the Vietnam War. And the punishment was harsh and unfair: a sentence of five years in prison. He was deprived of his boxing license, his World Cup belts - people would not even recognize his name. That was in 1967.

But just three years later, the world looked different. The mood of the people was reversed. There were huge demonstrations against the Vietnam War and the racially divided USA.

Muhammad Ali had thrown his Olympic gold medal into the river after an episode in his hometown Louisville. He had walked into the town's fine restaurant with the medal around his neck and ordered two cheeseburgers.

- We do not serve negroes…
- And I do not eat them! Just give me two cheeseburgers…

The Olympic champion was kicked out of the restaurant just because he was black. And in Vietnam, blacks accounted for a quarter of the casualties, even though they accounted for only 12% of the U.S. population.

The US Supreme Court overturned Muhammad Ali's prison sentence, he was acquitted of all charges. He made a rock-solid comeback when the Champion of the World got his boxing license back.

He was right! He sure was the Greatest, even when he went an impressive 32 laps against the Parkinsons. Billions of viewers saw the sport's biggest icon stand with the torch and with trembling hands light the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony in Atlanta. That was in 1996.

Muhammad Ali died in 2016, 74 years old.

If the Bible is correct...

That would mean that there is something alive and conscious around us at all times that is undetectable by us.

What if the Bible is in fact true?

Prayers are heard and pondered by this invisible life force and then determined if they shall be answered or not.

Our every move and thoughts being recorded and will be used for our judgement.

"God" as he/she/it is called knows all, including our future.

Can billions of people over thousands of years be that gullible into believing something that is in fact not real? ...seems hardly possible.

Has modern society forgotten about this being/force and will we be reminded?

dunno

Actually, I do not know for a fact...but there are times that it seems like in fact prayers are answered....etc...

Oversensitivity

As long as there is something about you that causes you to feel bitter, inferior or ashamed, the mere mention of certain words will hurt you. I said it many times before and I’ll say it again; words cannot hurt until you give it the power to do so. Only then can they hurt you. professor

Some of the causes for hurt may be being dyslexic, stuttering, wearing glasses, having lost a limb, being born cripple, blind or deaf and too many other things to list here. We’re talking about things that you cannot change; things that are neither disgraceful nor scandalous. And until you can make peace with yourself, they will continue to hurt when people talk about it. blues

And if the reason for your hurt is something you can change, like bad teeth or untidy hair, or is due to intolerance to others, I have no sympathy with you for you are making yourself unhappy. If you don’t like homosexuals or hunting or if you don’t eat meat, you cannot expect the rest of the world to agree with your views. You either fix it you have to tolerate it.mumbling

Insults normally come to you as a statement of contempt and there are several ways to deal with it, depending on whether the insult is based on the truth and also whether the insult is based on disgraceful behavior on your behalf or just plain pettiness.help

If the statement is based on ill behavior on your behalf, it is not going to help to trade insults with your quarry. This is not just words; it is the truth and it is embarrassing. We are not always proud of our actions. Nevertheless, admit that you were wrong, apologize for the indiscretion and not only have you gained the respect of the people around you but you also have taken the wind out of your enemy’s sails. Your enemy has nothing further on you and if he wants to proceed with his assault he must resort to lies and/or pettiness. tongue

If the statement is untrue, it is not an insult but a lie. There is very little you can do about it… and unless if you can expose the lie in one swift and final stroke, ignore it. Those who know you will see it for what it really is; a common lie. If you try to defend yourself against it, it can only create a perception that there may just be some element of truth in it. frustrated

Then there is the third category; normally the tactics that slimeballs employ to hurt innocent people. The attempted insult is true but it is based on pettiness rather than shameful behavior. This is not an insult but we perceive it as an insult because we resent the truth; we feel bitter, ashamed or inferior about something that we cannot help for. comfort

Don’t waste your time on shit you cannot change; don’t fall into the bottomless pit of self-pity because of something that you don’t like about yourself. Accept yourself for who and what you are for there is no shame in it. Say to the world, “OK, I have freckles and so what? How does it affect my character or my person?” uh oh

Only then you will have the resilience to resist words but until then words will hurt you more than sticks and stones. sigh

America vs. America

Think we will hear some of the defense today, it can be interesting.

In what ever I have written about Trump, a main question for me have to do with the polarisation of the people. You have two main parties in battle over different politics. You have strong opposition to the impeachment. For me it has become a bit clearer now.
There are two oposing narratives, which is like taken out of a spy novel. There are Fox, CNN, RT news, CBS, etc.

It is pretty strange that Trump have had that many phone calls with Putin, and some have wondered about that connection. It may very well be very simple - he may believe the Giuliani thread of stories. Giuliani may believe Giuliani. And opposed to this, you have what the House investigation believes.

In any case, it should not be all that difficult to present the opposing camps of beliefs and flesh out what is true or not. The President have some explaining to do. If he cannot explain what the facts are, then he is deceiving the nation.

Present the facts.

Breakfast

Ok, all hands to the plough here, the challenge is to create an East meets West breakfast.

So ................ easiest is to say

(a) what you like for breakfast (not necessarily what you have, but what you would like to have) and
(b) the name or type, or at least whether East or West

These are the only ones I know - probably have variations you know or prefer - and all are West

Full English - bacon, eggs, toast. sausage, grilled mushroom, grilled tomato and sometimes steak

Full Scottish - bacon. eggs, square (Lorne) sausage, potato scones, black pudding and sometimes haggis
(Both of the above often served with baked beans but not when I make them snooty) (whistle berries)

Continental - fruit, pastries, croissants, cheese, at least one type of charcuterie (usually ham)

American pancake heaven - stack of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. I have no idea what other breakfasts are popular in the US, for the whole 10 days I was in the US I ate pancakes grin

I've been out with Jewish friends who had kippers with fried egg (in place of bacon)

Oh and by the way, to keep it topical and related to CS, the difference between being involved and being committed can be demonstrated by bacon and eggs. The hen is involved, but the pig is committed.

A Bad Start

When I saw the mess on the pavement I sighed. It is garbage day and my brother-in-law took the dustbin out when he went to work this morning. The bin was on its side and the contents were strewn over the place; luckily mostly in smaller plastic shopping bags, but they were all torn and some of the contents were spilled out.sigh

Among others, a larger bin liner that was filled with old clothes that I had discarded during the week. Most were pulled out through the gaping hole in the side. Bloody dogs, I muttered as I started collecting the clothes.very mad

“I hope you plan to clean up this mess when you’re done,” the voice said behind me. She had a terrible accent. I once met an English couple who spoke like that. They came from Yorkshire. I was pissed off and she did not improve my mood. I ignored her while I carried on with my menial task.

“My friend told me to look out for you vagrants raiding the dustbins and making a mess.” I still kept quiet, hoping she would go away. She disappointed me. “You South-Africans are very messy. I’m from England.”

“Yorkshire?” I asked, but more like a statement than a question.

“Yes, how did you know?” I almost told her I’m psychic but checked myself just in time. It would just have opened another topic for discussion.

“An educated guess”, I said while I righted the dustbin and started putting the bags back in the bin. For the first time I looked at her and wondered why she mistook me for a homeless person.

She was a rather plain Jane and in my slightly faded blue jeans, blue & white striped golf shirt and blue Nikes, I was certainly better dressed than her. My hair was neat; I only had it trimmed yesterday and I was cleanly shaved. Maybe I wore too much blue to her liking. I wondered if she would approve of my red underpants as I opened the gate to go back inside.confused

“Hey, where are you going?” she asked.

“I live here, do you mind?”

“Is it your house?”

No”, I said. At least that part was true. “The house belongs to an eccentric millionaire and I’m looking after it while he is abroad.”liar

“They say these eccentric millionaires are very stingy and they dress shabbily. Does he pay you to look after his house?”

“No, but he said that I may wear his clothes while he’s not here.” I don’t even feel guilty about all the lies. My brother-in-law is not a millionaire, he is not abroad and his clothes will be much too large for me.

She stared at me for a few seconds, probably trying to figure if I was serious. “You know, sarcasm won’t get you anywhere”, she said.

“True, but then I was not going anywhere. I’m not dressed for it.”tongue

“Oh!! You are such an a**hole!” she said as she wheeled around on the one heel and sauntered across the road. Only then I noticed what a sexy a** she has. As she entered the granny flat across the road I realized that she was my neighbor's new tenant. Not a good start at all.doh

That sinking feeling.

It's so disheartening to write a blog and then watch it sink steadily down the page and finally disappear into the wilderness behind that little square box labelled 2, and beyond. So, why condemn yourself to that very same fate by creating this one, you may well ask.

Because I can, that's why.

Can We Bring Back The Old Blog Format Please....

it's the one where most recent blogs appear on top and not the last commented one...?
It's kinda strange reading multiple blogs form one blogger...boring actuallylaugh

and stale blogs keep appearing on top is also not cool, specially if they are nasty topic that most of us can't relate onsigh

resurrecting old classic blogs seems more fun than blogs nowadays ...

just saying hi and wondering if anyone here got laid recentlyrolling on the floor laughing reading the blogs here, I doubt it
