Cringe Worthy

Do you ever read a blog and actually cringe? Maybe even feel the bile rise in your throat?

I have read a few....ones where someone, in my mind, is kind of icky boasting about their s*xual prowess for instance. Or ones where someone writes as an authority but it is evident they are ignorant or crazy?

I appreciate you bloggers who make me laugh and who give me glimpses into your lives. The ones that cause those wtf moments?.....not so much

Medicating Human Needs

If you are depressed and anxious, you are not a machine with malfunctioning parts. You are a human being with unmet needs.
The only real way out of our epidemic of despair is for all of us, together, to begin to meet those human needs – for deep connection, to the things that really matter in life

This is a quote from an edited extract from Lost Connections: Uncovering the Real Causes of Depression – and the Unexpected Solutions by Johann Hari.

The extract/book would be worth reading for those with an interest in something that seems to be pervasive throughout our society.

Medication is the go-to solution for many people/doctors - but does medication cure human needs?

Meeting up ...

Purely by what I have read on the public blogs, there are men and women who meet up with the much-discussed intention of serious zoobie zooms*. There are people who have got so close during their correspondence that the meeting is just the final step in a long-term relationship they both know will happen. There are people who lose their nerve and cancel at the last minute, and there are people almost breathless with hope that this time will be The One.

Sometimes it is The One. Just, maybe, you hadn't specified the one what ... uh oh

Sometimes the one was eh, hang on, this is just coffee, right?

And sometimes one person is confidently expecting zoobie zooms and the other expecting a new acquaintance to compare stamp collections with . . . mixed signals. Oops.

One way and another I’ve met about 15 people off CS now and the ones that I wanted to meet because we are cyber buddies were GREAT. The three others, well, one meet was a disaster which didn’t get to the end of lunch, one turned into a series of LDR meetings before crashing and burning a year later, and one was another whole story altogether. roll eyes and for the last year or so I have stuck firmly to the buddy side of things.

Taken me nearly 4 years on here to realize that people can meet just on the off-chance, with little or no expectations, they live not particularly far apart, why not wow

That’s the problem with being a closet romantic, I keep waiting on Prince Charming jerking the closet door open and telling me my pumpkin awaits. I assume everyone else does too so when I hear a meet went well I’m partly oh WOW they’re in love and partly green with envy because they’re so lucky . mumbling

Doh.

Just as soon as I wash the plaster out my hair and scrub off the paint freckles I’m writing back to a few locals in my new location who had suggested meeting up for coffee. At the time I had been meh, that's going nowhere, pass. Now I just expect a cup of coffee rolling on the floor laughing

And maybe a few hair-raising stories to pass on, that’s a popular blog subject too . . . devil

*zoobie zooms? bonking.

To dye or not to dye...

I have a friend, who is a very nice gentleman... He is in his sixties... And he dyes his hair... A few days ago, he said he had to dye it again, because gray hairs were showing... And, I couldn't help but wonder what ladies and gentlemen thought about this particular subject...

I personally think gray hair looks ABSOLUTELY SEXY... Mmmmmmmm... Mmmmmmm... Mmmmmmmmm... devil devil devil But that's just ME... I have told him to embrace his natural handsomeness, but I don't think he will go "natural" any time soon...

Anyway, I would love to know what guys think of males that dye their hair to cover gray... And even more, I would love to read what ladies think, because in my opinion, guys that dye their hair to be more attractive for ladies, might be sabotaging their looks, but again, that's just ME... dunno

In my personal opinion, males that dye their hair might be presenting themselves as very insecure people, and to me, confidence is TOTALLY HOT... But, I will say it again... That's just ME... laugh

Finally, I think the key is to get a nice, modern, haircut... That would totally take years off, if that's what males that dye their hair are trying to achieve...

P.S. I don't dye my hair... And I don't plan to do so... I practice what I preach... wink bouquet

Yep, never seen this exorbitant price of fuel during Trump's time

A dollar a gallon anywhere today? Yeah right. In your dreams. Liar.

This isn't a comparison, just addressing lies from blind demonrats.

I think all of the Biden supporters are happy about this never before seen price of fuel.

They must all be rich and never get affected by it. I am not going anywhere anymore because a full tank of my car costs me over a hundred bucks. Yikes.

I'm not comparing the price from last week or month but during the last administration and today. very madvery mad

now what do men want?

Should she be more understanding of our imperfect qualities.

Should she accept that we may not have the biggest c*ck in the world?

Should she be fine that the neighbor has better looking abs than us?

Should she be okay with talking with her friends knowing they live a better life than her because her husband is a poor bastard?

Should she understand that men are visual creatures and provide him with things he yearns for instead of using it as bribery or just outright teasing him with no intentions on giving?

Should she be smiling when we busted our asses all of our lives when we come home from work and we are probably going to live a shorter lifespan because of it?

or

Should we just accept that this is a woman's world and us men must remain on the chain?

This site is free, stay or leave it's our choice

Its plain and simple.

Everyone has a choice. To complain or not. To respect or not. To be nice or not. To terrorize or to be peaceful.

This site is free. While being civil is encouraged, it is not always the case. People including me becomes too personal at times especially on religion and politics.

All I'm saying is, be happy we have a site to enjoy and if we get lucky, we find those that sweep us off our feet. I did. Twice. I couldn't be more thankful. cheers
JimNastics

Jim's Superbowl contest blog.

This is just for fun, not for money. Sorry to disappoint those who worship money.
Here's the deal. You get 100 points for picking the winner of the game.

Your choices are either the Kansas City Chiefs, or the San Francisco 49ers.

Plus, you get up to 60 points for picking the number of points scored by the Chiefs
and up to 60 points for picking the number of points scored by the 49ers.
So, the maximum of points you could get is 220.
However, you lose 1 point for each point the actual final score for that team
is from the score you predicted for that team. So, if you predict the Chiefs will score 24 points and they score a total of 30 points, you would get 54 points for that part of your guess.

So, lets say you pick the 49ers to win by the score of 27 to 16
and the 49ers do win, but by the score of 31 to 12.
You would get the 100 points for picking the correct winner, plus (60 - (31 - 27)) + (60 - (16 - 12)) = 212. It would be very difficult to end up with no points, unless you don't put in your guesses.

To play you get one chance to place your guesses. No changes scold
Your guesses must be placed before this Sunday at 6 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time).
The actual kickoff of the game is at 6:30 pm EST.

Whoever has the highest total score will be crowned 2020 CS Superbowl Champion until next year
and I will post the hierarchy of the CS finalists scores on this blog after the game is over.

Good luck cheers

My opinion on opinions

One purpose of the blogs is to express your opinion. Quite a few just post videos or cut and paste articles; which is not so much expressing an opinion as just agreeing with someone else's. I think there is a case to be made that, if you are not capable of articulating your opinion yourself, then you are not really qualified to have an opinion that deserves sharing. scold
