Nothing in particular - just random thoughts kinda thing lol

Well, I started an online dating site adventure again hoping to have a better result than when tried some out in the past (I was like mid 50's - empty nest, window, exploring options) ...

Well, so far not looking worthwhile lol only seem to get messages from individuals outside my area who could actually easily meet with if wanted, most are out of town, out of state, even the US ... I'm starting to get tired of messaging back, try to be nice but it's not always easy telling individuals thanks but no thanks ...

I likely put TMI out there but figured better too much info than too little lol only good thing so far is it's something to pass some time now and then and there are some interesting and even fun individuals to message with ...

I'm curious as to what other's are experiencing on these types of sites and would love to hear about yours ...

well take care everyone, play nice, keep it real and happy fishing ... xo debi

Hotter than hell

A cluster of wildfires has scorched the Texas Panhandle, including a blaze that grew into one of the largest in state history, as flames moved with alarming speed and blackened the landscape across a vast stretch of small towns and cattle ranches.

Authorities warned that the damage to communities on the high plains could be extensive.

The largest fire — which expanded to more than 3367 square kilometres — jumped into parts of neighbouring Oklahoma and was only about 3% contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

I choked up... just a little.

A few times a week, I pass a cemetery that borders a major roadway. It's a huge piece of land, probably 4 acres and appears to be full of flowers on the grave-sites. The cemetery in Miami where my parents are buried doesn't permit artificial flowers and I don't know if this one does but, as they say, people are dying to get inside the place, hopefully those who are remembered will get real flowers and not fakes.

I can see when the ground is prepared for an upcoming burial as they have plywood covering the hole and a blue canopy with wheels set over the plot waiting for the event. Sometimes, there are a few scattered around the cemetery, especially on weekends.

If I pass by in the afternoon, traffic may be backed up at a red light giving more time to look over and see people visiting the graves of loved ones. One day, I saw a man sitting on the ground and appeared to be leaning over a small gravestone. He had a wheelchair that was tipped on it's side and partly folded, also a blanket laid out and what appeared to be a basket. My best guess would be, he brought food and intended to be there for a while.

From the street, you cannot see any roads or walkways, my guess is the passage ways run parallel to the highway and it would be extremely difficult for someone in a wheelchair to maneuver over the lawn to be where he was.

Twenty minutes later, after doing an errand, I passed the cemetery again and the man was still there. It's been a few days now and I keep thinking about it...

I chose the blog category: Family and think the man is still grieving over the loss of a loved one.

Don,t let wrong thoughts poison you

The right thing comes from good and true.
The wrong thing comes from evil and false.
How to know what is right and what is wrong coming to you?
The right comes: with good thoughts, with love, true and pure.
The wrong comes:with bad thoughts, with hate, false or untrue and dirty.
God is love and perfect. You need God so you need believe and obey him.
seek truth and you shall find.seek God and God will come to you.
pray and door will open for you.

God bless.

Cardio...

The year of the -ologists continues.
Yesterday it was a visit to a cardiologist. My request for a change in blood pressure was approved. An ultrasound of the heart is scheduled and waiting for a call to schedule a stress test.
Yeah... I need to up my daily activity in preparation for the stress test.

Someone I worked with who is 15 years younger than me and used to jog 5 miles daily went for a yearly physical and it was requested he go for a stress test.
Technicians stopped the test and sent him to the hospital.
One week and 4 stents later, he was allowed to go home.
Are you serious??
I've heard people having heart attacks while testing...

A friend suggested I rethink the test.

WOULD IT BE BETTER IF...........

Would it be better if people were not categorised by their religion? The news always talks about the various religious communities in a country and their reaction to events. Sometimes violent protests are used if there is a difference between a countries laws and the beliefs of a group. In a democracy, laws are established by representatives of the people and must be obeyed, otherwise there are penalties. The fact that a particular religious group disagrees should not affect the application of the law. Sometimes police ( UK particularly ), are worried that they may offend a community and consequently appear reluctant to apply the law for fear of reprisals. Residents of a country should abide by the rules and regulations regardless of any conflict with their religious beliefs. Individuals who break the law may feel that they can hide behind an organisation who they feel will offer them protection and justification in the unlawful manner in which they protest. These situations exist also with, "Just stop oil" and "Climate change" protesters.
Society is at risk of a breakdown if there is failure to prosecute offenders.

America's bleeding ulcer...

You may think, how is it possible for a country to have a medical condition like a bleeding ulcer. Read on... we can talk about it.
In the 70's it seemed like many of my friends had a parent who had a bleeding ulcer and they complained profusely about it. Lots of them were smokers, heavy drinkers taking medicines and being on restricted diets, but that didn't work. Eventually, doctors figured out a combination of antibiotic and bismol that made ulcers go away. No ulcers... no complaints.

I did a blog last week about building a wall (across the Mexican border) to stop illegal immigration. This has been going on for decades. Yeah... decades. Lots of talk (read: complaints) but no action. Republicans continue to complain, many directly blaming Biden for the situation they faced before he became president.

Trump ran a campaign on building a wall to stop immigration but was unsuccessful in doing so. Why?

Conservatives didn't like Roe versus Wade and constantly complained about it. Trump installed a few conservative supreme court justices and eventually the law of the land had changed with Trump claiming credit. That essentially stopped the complainers about the issue of legal abortion. They got what they wanted... except they need to find something different to complain about and to use in their campaigns.

What we have now would appear to be a history first... Democratic president Joe Biden has been instrumental in getting a bi-partisan bill directly aimed at resolving the immigration problem. He's doing it without a wall. No catch & release, faster processing, ability to block illegal drugs from entering our country. This is not a small step in immigration reform. It's a giant leap.

House speaker Mike Johnson is killing the plan. It became obvious that approving a deal like this in an election year would be making Biden successful and taking away from Trump to use illegal immigration in his campaign. Essentially Mike doesn't want Biden to cure a bleeding ulcer.

All the news media realize it. The republicans have stopped the progress to literally end their complaints about immigration... because it's an issue that Trump needs to campaign on.
