Sometimes a slight hesitation the way a word or words are spoken can bring on a totally different meaning... or (at very least) confuse the person you are conversing with.
Emphasis to be pronounced as m- fassus is my example.

English is a 2nd and sometimes a 3rd language to the people I come in contact with. If I know them and communicate on a regular basis, it becomes easier to actually know what they are saying.

I was working for a company that manufactured sofa-beds and the workforce were a group of people from the Caribbean islands. Cubans, Jamaicans and Haitians. Each having some distinct differences in the way words were pronounced.

In Jamaica, the number that comes after two is pronounced 'tree'
Anna is usually pronounced 'Hanna'

I don't speak Spanish, but I can read Spanish words and pronounce them with a fair degree of accuracy.

Most of the people I'm currently working with are from Brazil and speak Portuguese. Some of them also speak Spanish. When they leave notes in the order processing system, I have to run them through a language translator to understand them. The notes aren't intended for me and some of the installers and factory workers who access the system only speak a little bit of English.
Right now, Portuguese is troublesome for me as I haven't been able to figure out Portuguese pronunciations.
Example of good morning is spelled: bom dia, but dia (unlike Spanish) is pronounced gia, like JEE-ah.

I see now, I need to work on the m- fassus.

Hello, my name is Aris, and this is my story.

In a distant time, I lived in a small village with hardworking and generous people, or united, as some might say. Of course, in any community, there were a few "bad apples," but that's not what this is about. From my teenage years, I knew that faith had much more to offer than people believed. So, I promised myself that I would nurture my faith in God as much as I could, strengthening the roots of this tree called Faith until it reached towards the heavens and bore fruit.

Two years later, something happened that was initially hard for me to believe, even for myself. One day, I started experiencing excruciating headaches and dizziness. I sat on the ground, leaning against a tree, and instinctively touched the left side of my head (even though I am right-handed). Suddenly, it felt as if an electric current flowed through my hand, and something told me to touch the ground with my right hand. I listened to my inner voice, and as soon as I touched the ground, the headache transformed into a current that ran through my left hand, pressed against my forehead, then through my body, and finally, my right hand, which reached into the earth. That was the moment when I fully recovered.

Confused about what had happened, I went home and lay down in bed, suspecting that what had occurred would change my life. A few months later, some children were playing in the village, running around. One of them fell and hurt his right knee. Seeing him cry, I felt compassion and wanted to help him somehow. So, I decided to try to take away his pain as I had done with my headache.

Not sure if it would work or not, I approached him and asked if he would allow me to look at his knee. As soon as I touched the boy's foot, I had a vision of a red cloud somehow residing in his knee, and it began to transfer from his knee into my hand, through my body, and into my right hand, which I immediately directed towards the ground. The red cloud flowed into the earth at that spot. The boy stopped crying just moments before his mother arrived, informed by the other children. The child then said that he no longer felt any pain.

A frail old man who had been observing me from the shadow of his house called me over. I got up from the ground and approached him. He then said, "Make a cross for the sick earth."
