Broken Wings

Broken Wings

What Is Poetry

What Is Poetry ?

Everyone judges poetry differently and many say this is not a poem/poetry, so what is really poetry and how do we really perceive it, you be the judge and please make comments, because in my eyes poetry is a true projection from your mind and how you put pen to paper. Written: 21st July 2013

Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness

"Random Acts of Kindness in Honor of a Little Boy" published on Yahoo. Here is an illustration of how the author of this Facebook entry feels after her "random act of kindness" and how she makes everyone happy: "I finally got the chance to 'Pay it Forward Jayden style'," wrote Troy-Ciera Rill on Tuesday. "I was sitting in the drive through at McDonalds & bought a $10 gift card for the 2 guys in the car behind me. The girl at the drive through was touched & I loved seeing the expression on their faces when she gave it to them! Its such an inspiration that your son has put on people. God Bless & Merry Christmas!" So let us remember, that “Somehow, not only for Christmas, But all the long year through, The joy that you give to others, Is the joy that comes back to you. And the more you spend in blessing, The poor and lonely and sad, The more of your heart's possessing, Returns to you glad.” -- John Greenleaf Whittier

Learning poetry III Carnival Carousel Roundel

Learning poetry III - Carnival Carousel (Roundel)

The ROUNDEL is a deritave of rondeau and rondine... It has eleven lines constructed from two quatrains, and a triplet. The rhyme scheme only has two rhymes and a refrain from the first phrase of first line, thus, the second line rhymes with the refrain:.. a. b. a.B . b. a. b . a. b. a. B.. example: If he could know my songs are all for him, At silver dawn or in the evening glow, Would he not smile and think it but a whim, If he could know? Or would his heart rejoice and overflow, As happy brooks that break their icy rim When April's horns along the hillsides blow? I may not speak till Eros' torch is dim, The god is bitter and will have it so; And yet to-night our fate would seem less grim If he could know. --- Sara Teasdale

The Wings

The Wings.

I was close with an Lady 2 years ago and when we walk outside on my Property, she stop to walk and was looking up to the sky. I did then the same and I could see a Bird circling around going higher and higher like in a spiral and already so very high that it was diving some times into the cloud. She then said to me," I had really like to be that bird and fly high in the sky" and then she clearly followed with like pain in her voice," but my Parents never give me Wings"!

PAIN

PAIN

While looking for S. T. Coleridge’s “The Rime of Ancient Mariner” at Macduff’s kind suggestion I came across “Pain” by the same author, which touched my soul due to its relevance to whatever old age refers to. The poem I wrote was inspired by “Pain” by S. T. Coleridge.

Learn from lonlyness

How cold and empty Is the inner life If you can`t give The rich inside the heart. So lonly and sad Is your soul Because you want And nobody takes From you a part. But like flowers Which are sown, And from earth In light those grow,
