This is my first attempt at a nonet which consists of nine lines. The first line is 9 syllables and the succeeding lines decrease by one syllable each. The line syllable sequence is 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. It may or may not rhyme. I dedicate it to the older folks at CS.

IN MY CAR I SAW A BIRD IN MID FLIGHT GET CLIPPED BY A TRUCK AND KNOCKED INTO TRAFFIC AND SQUASHED. WHEN SPONTANEOUSLY I ASKED MY QUESTION, I WAS THINKING OF MORE ON THE LINES OF KARMIC ISSUES BUT GOT ANOTHER ANSWER ENTIRELY. LATER I IMAGINED THE BIRD LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR MY INSIGHT. HENCE THE TITLE: SWEET BIRD OF SACRIFICE.

Many years ago a close friend was in this predicament...she swears that the child talked to her in her sleep...it was brewing in my mind for a while and I forgot it... when I met the lady in question recently I found out that the daughter she had almost lived her life the way she dreamed it...this poem is the result...I mean no offence to anyone.
It’s about how we often fail to show proper respect for persons we correspond with, first getting to know each other and then stopping to communicate altogether for no particular reason. We fail to show kindness in writing a farewell letter and explaining in plain words the reason why we make this or that choice. It takes so little time and effort to be kind to a stranger. If we fail in this and treat strangers in such despicable way we fail in major things either, such as love, friendship, etc. and we deserve all the disappointments we have. No reference to anyone in particular, just a general observation.
Just some thoughts...

love the one your with and when you look for love dont look to be ones everything because saddly, too quickly too easily you can become any of the two in my poem... either one, the one pulling the trigger or the one at the other end of the gun.
Each flower looks the same but they are so different just like finding the perfect partner in a world of millions of people. either Woman or Man.. Some people are lucky enough to find there buttercup. Unfortunatly for me I have yet to find her. Maybe one day Just maybe.
