Cow Preacher

Cow Preacher

I saw many cows on my way to Lancaster this morning. Just wondering what would they say if they could.

Our lifes Infinity

Our life's Infinity

Where does our 'light' come from? - and where does it go?

Shot at Dawn

Shot at Dawn.

Many of the atrocities of the first world war have faded into history, this typical of the many extremely young men shot at dawn, who in general had suffered the effects of many a horrific battle, were, sick, cold, hungry tired and terrified, seeing their comrades bombed, gassed and cut to ribbons, many lied about their age to fight for King and country, found themselves frozen by fatigue and fear and were charged with cowardice, and within a day without legal representation found guilt and hastily shot at dawn by their comrades. Since I wrote this so many years ago, these brave young men have received a pardon and a memorial erected in their name.

Sailors In the Sky

Since I was a child, I have always admired the effortless gliding of vultures up in the sky. Among other gliding birds listed are albatross, eagle, condor, stork, frigatebird and seagull. It is a truly delightful to watch the marvellous gliding action of these birds way up in the sky as they ride the air currents. This poem is dedicated to them: the genuine avian sailors in the sky. (I have made some adjustments to the original to include some other gliding birds in the body of the piece).

Jamologist

Jamologist

Oh- wonder of modern technology; Oh- miracle which is the machine; Oh- joy of modern life: Thou makest our existance so easy; Thou helpest us to understand the meaning of life; Thou... Uhm... err... What am I saying here? Must have been something I ate... This came to pass after sitting in a bus pulling out of the depot, taking more than an hour inching the two-hundred yards down the road towards the traffic-lights (...which naturally turned red and stayed red, due to the fact that the system had a nervous breakdown...)

Sleeping Sorry no face ...a strange tale...

A day with Sleeping Sorry no face... Saying i'm Sorry is just not me! For nothing risked is nothing gained, A game I just have to play, To win your maiden heart, Or lose and try somewhere else, Life goes on, They always say, To that I toast,

Like shadows on the wall, it's hard to ignore That love is one thing people search for And those that have it sometimes don't know For there are those who never do show And some are like an open book being read Some will carry their love to the

THE LITTLE GIRLS GRAVE

THE LITTLE GIRLS GRAVE

CAME ACROSS THIS LITTLE GIRLS GRAVE, WHILE DOING RESEARCH, IN THE ANCIENT GRAVEYARD AT INISLOON, FURTHER RESEARCH THREW UP THE FACT THAT HER MOTHER WENT QUIET INSANE WITH GRIEF AFTERWARDS, THE PROXIMITY OF THE HOUSE OVERLOOKING THE GRAVEYARD IN INISLOON, WAS TOO MUCH FOR HER TO BEAR, THE JAMESON FAMILY, MOVED AWAY TO DUBLIN, SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, IN THE MID 18 HUNDREDS.
