Airport

A suitcase packed, a taxi called
We sit waiting, eyes filled with tears

The seat confirmed, the visa ends
We reflect and face our worst fears

A glass wall blocks my way and
Life is cut into parts with shears

A word of love is said but now
Only roaring engines she hears

Plane airborne, wheels off runway
Among the stars she disappears

Holding my ground

If I'm not loved, don't think I've ceased to feel it,
Not ready to day dream, to fall again in love,
If I'm not loved don't think I am immune to blessing,
If I'm not loved it doesn't mean I'm done.

If I'm not loved it doesn't mean in earnest
I'm not with you in your delightful arms.
If I'm not loved it doesn't mean I'm leaving
My early dreams and days of blissful time,

No time, no space shall ever make me stumble
In my pursuits of happiness and love,
No evil soul will ever send me kneeling
Or turn my mind from thinking of my love.

If I'm not loved, I'm nonetheless your spirit
I'll stick to you, you'll never miss my touch.
I will invade your soul, make it my only dwelling,
I'll live in you - you'll feel it in my love.

Deprived of love and being thus rejected,
I'll live my life in love with every kind.
If not in love, how then shall I endure,
If not in love, how then I'll stay alive.

If not in love, how then am I supposed to cure
my kindred souls in dire need of love.
If not in love, how then am I supposed to bear
Remembrance of those days of blissful past.

If I'm in love, then I am safe and cured,
If not in love, then I am faced with strife,
My love will make my earthly days secure,
I'll keep in step, feel happy in my life.

I'll never cease my yearning, keep it burning,
Love - you are all that's ever left to us.
Love's blessing keeps us safe on earthly travel,
Love's all that was and still remains with us.

The Broken Man

He once stood here, tall and proud
Master of all that he surveyed
In defiance his beliefs unbowed
And in defeat his dignity displayed

He lived, he loved on borrowed time
The hand of fate would play it's card
With sentence passed on love's great crime
He looks at life with no regard

The time has passed and redemption sought
His dreams are dust and hope subsides
For all his efforts have yielded naught
And into obscurity he slowly slides

He fought and lost in life's great plan
He stands before you, the broken man

Shadows

Shadows of the past,

Those times were a blast.

Shadows of the past,

you went by WAY too fast.

Shadows of the past,

I haven't seen you last.

With your grotesque beauty,

Your faces aren't a mystery to my

poor eyesight that have seen this world.

But what is it in this world that we want to see?

Some say greed, corrupt, memories, fantasies,

Love, wisdom, honor, courage, luxuries.

Shadows of the past,

As we put our heads to sleep,

You are within us deep,

And thus, Shadows of the past,

with you, we will never be released.

House

I turn the key and push the door
I step into mystery and holiness

Moving shadows, dancing curtains, a noisy hinge
Are suggesting she lives here in loneliness

The white dress, the slippers, the empty shoes
are speaking of long absence and emptiness

In the bedroom, beside the bed, in a draw
The stockings, the perfumes, the tenderness

"She's not here" I tell myself, I know for sure
I saw her off and went away Her Loveliness

A song

Last time you looked into my eyes,
And now you keep your eyes away!
Last time you stayed until the morn,
All larks now seem to be like crows.

I'm foolish one, you are so wise,
You keep alive, I'm stark, benumbed.
I cry like women of all times:
"Oh my, what ever have I done?!".

And tears for her are water, blood is
Water, - in blood and tears she washed herself!
No mother, our stepmother is Love:
Of her for neither justice nor for mercy you should ask.

Ships take away our most beloved,
White road takes them away from us ...
And common plea is heard on earth
"Oh my, what ever have I done?!".

Last night you lay here at my feet!
Comparing me with Chinese might!
And now unclasped your hands at once
Life rolled from them as rusted dime!

As true as filicide in front of judge
I'm standing here unwanted, timid one.
In hell I'll keep inquiring thus
"O my, what ever have I done?!".

I'll ask the chair, ask the bed:
"Why all this suffering to me?"
"Been kissed enough - go break on wheel",-
They'll say to me. "He'll kiss some other one".

He taught me life - in flames of lust,
Then threw - into the steppe to freeze!
"And now you see what you did to me!
Oh my, what ever have I done?!"

I know too much - don't say, I don't!
My eyesight's back - no more the love of yours!
Where Love retreats its steps
Death-gardener slips sliding forth.

No use to shake an apple-tree!
The apple falls itself when duly ripe...
I beg to pardon me for all,
"Oh my, what ever have I done?!"

About this poem:
This is the translation of an outstanding Russian poet's Marina Tsvetaeva's poem "Two songs" (the 2nd song). Truly speaking, I took the liberty of translating Tsvetaeva's poetry for the sheer joy of it - haven't come even closer to the original. Those who don't know Russian can't even imagine how heart-rending and beautiful the poem is. There must be some good translations - for those who wish to enjoy the poem to the last (Marina Tsvetaeva, Dve pesni. 14 June, 1920).

Old love - new love

Will you come to me tonight?
I will tell where was my mind,
It was there, where setting sun
Plunged slowly out of sight.

Will you come to me tonight?
I will make some salad nice,
Lay the table for us two,
Light the candles, bring some wine.

If you only come tonight,
Lamps will light your path to house.
If uncertain – make up mind,
If love’s dying – let it die.

Will you come to me tonight?
I will tell you where’s my mind,
It is there, where setting sun,
Plunges slowly out of sight.

Will you come to me tonight?
If you don’t – I will not mind.
Stirring up our deepest past
Will not do – what’s done is done.

If you come to me tonight ...
Never mind, you may not come.
Lamps will light your other paths,
Love is dead, long live new love!

Stranger

the strange thing is..after all you've done, we still miss you..
though I don't understand why..with all your cheating, and your lies..
someone I believed I knew, someone I believed loved us
stranger..
your mask has fallen away, allowing me to see into the depths of your empty heart and soul
smiles, lying eyes, feigning sincerity, too good to be true
and suddenly you're gone..with no explanation, no apology, no regret
stranger..
your voice is now cold..unfriendly..distant..uncaring..
i finally 'SEE' what you were all along
stranger..
or..psychopath, con~artist, thief, cheater, alcoholic, abused child, immature, user, liar,
when will my heart understand what my mind finally has?

About this poem:
This poem is about my fiancee leaving us for another woman. We were together for seven years, and although he had cheated on me during the first year we were together, I trusted him when he said.."I will never hurt you again." He suddenly walked out on us two years ago this month(in Dec. 2008). And I still have no idea why:(

blak-n-blu

What do i do now when all i can think about is you?
Where do i go when i thought you were my love so true?
Why do you think that we can never be two?
Why must we turn our hearts black and blue?

If i had my choice i d take the pain and make it go away.
I would tell you how much i cherish you each and every day.
I would be so tender in the effort to show you love
so i wonder to myself why do we beat each other up?

Will you ever be mines?
i often wonder in my mind
while my mind is running crazy over you
while i m running through my grind
running through this life feeling so alone
hoping and praying that you don t want to argue when i reach home.

I love you but and i ve made a few mistakes
and so i suffer and i suffer and i ll suffer more if you stay.
And unfortunately if I stay so will you
we ll just continue to turn our hearts black and blue.

Another Tear For You

On The First Line of my letter
I wrote the word Goodbye
So The end wont be much harder
Not To say I've Cried

But What happened to us
We were so sweet
And those letters ..
I send every week
You've locked my heart for years ..

And here's another tear for you ..
Another sad day ..
Another empty room ..
Another Lonely way ..
Another Tear to Cry ..
Another Way to Die .. more for you ..
Here's another tear ..
And it's only becoz of you ..
