A LITTLE FURTHER.

The reason I never can quit the road
Is a reason that's plain and clear.
It's because no matter where I may stop
And whether it's far or near

There's a place beyond the place I am,
Wherever I may be at,
And then beyond is a place beyond
And the world beyond all that!

And as long as a man has eyes to see
And a brain that wants to know,
I figure there's things he's bound to miss
If he doesn't go on and go;

For there's always a place beyond the place
I happen to hang my hat,
And another place beyond that place
And the world beyond all that!

There's some folks stay in a single spot
Or a town of which they're fond,
And never worry a little bit
At the thought of a place beyond;

But the place beyond the place beyond
Won't never let me rest
For there's a sort of a kind of urge
That's burning within my breast--

To go and go till the end of life,
And when I've left it flat,
Go on beyond the place beyond;
And the universe after that!

razorblade salvation

Mommy I'm sorry if my first letter made you cry
To be honest with you I don't think that I wanna die
Sometimes I feel like that I'm cancerous in others lives
Thats probably why I drink at night and sleep till 4 or 5
It's kinda hard walking through life with my distorted eyes
When I was younger I was stupid and I thought I thrived
I thought alot about everything I said in the letter
And questioned whether or not if I was dead you'd be better
You think my shorty would be happy if I never met her
It's too late now mommy I could never forget her
Could never forget how she told me to love
Cuz my father and my grandmother is always above
It's glory above you know that daddy taught me to thug
And everytime we was with nanny she'd bombard me with hugs
I MISS 'EM mommy and it's hard to believe
That I'm grown and I don't understand it - why did they leave

Mommy I think Im'a that try to stick around a while
I got a niece and my nephews they need me around a while
I think they need me cuz they hittin that age
And they ain't tryin to speak to Lenny cuz they spittin' they rage
And mommy speakin of Lenny I think my brother need me
And we Italian so you know my mother loved to feed me
And it's the little things you do for me that make it worth it
Like when I play a joint that we did and you say it's perfect
And when Jay got knocked you knew that I was hurt
You told me put all of my heart in a song and it worked
I promised him I'd be there when he got out the bing
You ain't raised me to be a liar ma' thats not my thing
I told him that I'd hold him down the whole time that he gone
they kept him locked in a cage but thats cool cuz hes strong
so mommy keep that first letter I wrote you on the low
I think I wanna stay alive and see if I can grow

Awakening

When did I learn to forget my own heart?
Surely I knew of it when I was small;
For I remember that most pleasant part-
that which can cope with the pain of the fall?

Why did I learn to forget my own mind?
Surely without it I can't even think...
Inside myself, I am left deaf and blind-
while I am steered to the edge, to the brink...

When did I learn to forget my own soul?
Surely I knew of it when I was born...
And who did teach that my innermost goal
should be to ensure that I'm innermost torn?

Why did I learn to forget all those things?
Surely remembrance would better have been…
Sleepwalking slowly through fiery rings
which I'd avoid, if the rings could be seen.

These are my Heart, and my Mind and my Soul-
Surely they only belong but to me;
Share I might, after regaining control-
Out of my own free will, as you see.

...When did I learn to forget my own will...?
Surely, without it I'll never regain
the castle on top of my innermost hill-
All my attempts will be always in vain...

So, I awaken. And slowly I walk
slowly I open my eyes to the light
shining inside me. And slowly I talk-
Say to my self: "See-it will be alright..."

Do I remember? But, surely I do.
Slowly, but surely my memories return;
stronger and stronger, until I can view
The fire which inside my heart still does burn...

ON THE LAWN AT DAWN~a tale of woe by ~free cee

WHILST WALKING WHEN THE SOUTHERN WIND CHANGES ITS DIRECTION
AND BECOMES A NOR-EASTER SUCH AS A FESTERING INFECTION
I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GO WHERE MY WORN OUT SHOES WILL TAKE ME
UNTIL I REACH FAR ENOUGH SOUTH FOR THE SATANIC SUN TO BAKE ME
SO PEOPLE SEE ME WALKING AND INQUIRE WHY I DO NOT DRIVE A CAR
AND I TELL THEM "BECAUSE WERE I TO HAVE A CAR I'D DRINK AFTER LEAVING A BAR"

PANAMA PETE, THE OWNER OF A BAR ON EIGHTH AVENUE, KNOWS VODKA IS WHAT I DRINK
AND PRECISELY HOW MANY SHOTS I NEED TO NO LONGER THINK
SINCE DRINKING AT EIGHT A.M ONLY LEADS TO TROUBLE WITH THE LADIES OR THE LAW
AND PLEASE DON'T ASSUME THAT ALOCOHOL IS MY ONLY FLAW
SO I LEAVE OLD PETE WITH HIS PANAMA HAT'S BRIM WELL WORN
AND MORE OFTEN THAN NOT WAKE UP UPON SOME STRANGER'S LAWN
HOW I GOT THERE AND WHY ARE QUERIES I AM INDIFFERENT TO
AND TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, I AM NOTHING AT ALL LIKE YOU
YOU PROBABLY HAVE LOVED ONES WHO WOULD CARE WHEN AND IF YOU DIE
I, HOWEVER, COULD EXPIRE AND NOT A SOUL ON EARTH WOULD CRY
NO MOANS, NO GROANS NOR TEARS WOULD BE TO SHED
FOR ONLY PANAMA PETE WILL MISS ME WHEN I AM DEAD
OTHER PEOPLE I'VE CHEATED WILL CARE NOT BECAUSE THEY DESPISE ME
AND NO TUXEDO, THREE PIECE SUIT OR PIN-STRIPES CAN DISGUISE ME
I AM THAT WHICH I AM DUE TO A DETRIMENTAL MIND
AND PEOPLE CAN TELL WHAT I AM EVEN IF THEY'RE BLIND
SO I RISE ON THAT STRANGER'S LAWN AND MUST KEEP ON THE READY TO RUN
WHILE WALKING AGAINST THE WICKED WIND AND THE SORDID SUN

I AM A WALKING AND TALKING ENIGMA, RIDDLE AND/OR PUN
AND WILL BE SO UNTIL THIS FARCE OF A LIFE IS MERCIFULLY DONE
BECAUSE I WAS BORN BY WINNERS BUT BIRTHED TO LOSE
AND DAMN I SURE COULD USE A NEW PAIR OF SHOES

SO RAGGEDY ANN SAW PINNOHIO And ASKED HIM IF HE COULD SIT ON HER FACE
AND NATURALLY "PINNOCHIO" being the man he is watched her sit on his face with grace
then pinnochio whimpered "raggedy ragged please never say bye to me"
to which raggedy responded "i won't if you will just please lie to me

Romantic Desires!

May the gentle breezes caress your cheeks,
Upon the sententious woman that I seek!

One of beauty and oh so fair,
Blue eyed with soft flowing golden flaxen hair!

Passion kisses I give to you,
Awaiting your returning sweet lips, I want them too!

Touching finger tips on mine,
Feeling softness that's so devine!

To spend a midnight's rendez-vous.
A night of passion just with you!

As we blend together compatible, as a couple of one,
We embrace to greet the sunrise of the glowing morning sun!

From a single night's romantic affair,
We now have a lifetime of companion living to share!

Do I have a romantic lifetime desire for you?
Feel my heart pounding, it says, I do!

WARNING - be honest on CS

Why have so many secrets
what do you have to hide
is it just your regrets
or is it that you lied

You talk so long and often
and plan a rendezvous.
Hearts begin to soften,
thoughts of what could ensue.

When things are left unsaid
and closets not unsealed
the folly when misled
soon will be revealed

The problem when you’re lying
is remembering all you said.
Soon to be sent flying,
caught out and left for dead

The moral of this poem is
it’s as easy as it seems
the reward for being honest is
the fulfilment of your dreams

when the day is done

When the day is done
Down to earth then sinks the sun
Along with everything that was lost and won
When the day is done.

When the day is done
Hope so much your race will be all run
Then you find you jumped the gun
Have to go back where you begun
When the day is done.

When the night is cold
Some get by but some get old
Just to show life's not made of gold
When the night is cold.

When the bird has flown
Got no-one to call your own
Got no place to call your home
When the bird has flown.

When the game's been fought
Newspapers blow across the court
Lost matches sooner than you would have thought
Now the game's been fought.

When the part is through
Seems so very sad for you
Didn't do the things you meant to do
Now there's no time to start anew
Now the part is through.

When the day is done
Down to earth then sinks the sun
Along with everything that was lost and won
When the day is done.

Or Would We ?

Tell me dear sister of mine, do you remember a time ?
When you and me, acting far sillier than even silly could be
Laughed so hard until one of us two, but dare I say.. just who
Wee Wee'd on the floor, of Corte' General Mercantile Store
Then poor old Ms. Maggie said " Oh dear me, someone must have spilt water."
Which only had us both laughing, even that much harder !

We laughed until our knees grew weak, we couldn't breathe, we could not speak
Teetering then on the brink of hysteria, was there ever a time when we felt merrier ?
Somehow we made it back home that day, laughing each step on the way.
We laughed through supper til time for bed, we couldn't sleep, so we just laughed instead.
When not even threats from our old Pop, couldn't make us want to stop.
So we laughed on and on and had we not conked out, we would have laughed til dawn.

Oh Sister isn't it so very nice to know, how much we have matured since then ?
We certainly wouldn't ever dream, of acting that silly again !
No, no not you and oh my definitely never me !
Or Would We ? Ha Ha... Ho Ho... Hee Hee Hee...

About this poem:
My sister and I, when together are still just as silly as we ever were ! Some of us never out-grow silly, but who wants to anyway ?...We have too much fun, but mum's the word on who the guilty party was. I'll never tell.. Sisters just don't snitch on each other. Oh I guess 1 small hint can't hurt..it wasn't me.

The Queen Of Queens

Submerged in shame in a sea of flames, she hears her people cries
As an angry sun rises up each day, against her blackened skies
A stunned world watches in disbelief, none believin' what is seen
All asking how could this happen, to that most beloved queen ?

In a watery grave around her, she waits now in grim despair
How will anybody save her ?, somehow we all should care
But she will rise again someday, like a phoenix through the fire
In a fortress befitting for a queen, built up strong and higher

For she will always be the queen of queens
Our lady fair, our New Orleans
Our precious home, sweet precious home
Oh mon Dieu... save our queen, Save our home, our New Orleans
Save our queen, our precious queen...our New Orleans
