Students who turn up late for private classes. I´m waiting for one now.
grrrrrr
Lots of things give me pleasure. Walking in the sunshine today and taking off my jacket to feel the warmth. People who smile at me and say "Hola guapa!". Students who are punctual.
If a profile has a selection of photos and one happens to be on the beach then fine.
I don´t think it´s being aggressive, a little macho perhaps, (which I dislike) or necessarily conceited...well perhaps if the body is young and well toned youthful conceit is more understandable and acceptable!
Older men, by that I mean over 40, who reveal their chests do not endear themselves to me for a number of reasons, but I´m just one woman, so until you have the opinions of a wider membership, my view is quite worthless!
And why would I, seeing as though I´m not on anybody´s shortlist
It´s not really about being hot though is it, more popularity. I don´t mind not being Ms Popular, in fact I quite like it. It means I´m not spending too much time here.
Well Tamarin, I don´t like the bickering and lies here either. but...it does help sort the wheat from the chaff and "out" seemingly nice, normal people at times.
So, all the nastiness does have its advantages at times don´t you think?
I wasn´t having a go at anybody, just felt the thread was not achieving what it set out to.
The humour behind your pics and those of Phoenix I appreciate a lot, they made me laugh. I haven´t changed or lost my sense of humour like some of Smokys´ descriptions of non-smokers.
And, I live in Spain, it seems as though most people smoke here, so I´m not going to start criticising smokers, preach, or stop going to bars! I hated people preaching at me to give up so I know how it feels.
I never did that. My daughter kept a diary, and the fact that she never hid it...it was there in her bedroom where she knew I cleaned occasionally, meant that she trusted me not to violate her privacy.
I was tempted many times, I won´t deny it, but I never read it. I preferred to talk openly with her about her relationships. At times she didn´t want to, which I respected, but other times she did, and I listened. i offered advice which sometimes she took, other times she didn´t.
Her first year at University was traumatic for her, the first time away from home, and she soon met a guy who she fell in love with.
I met him later, but didn´t like him much. I said nothing. In time there was a huge fall-out and he was being violent towards her when she tried to end it. She phoned me and her dad in tears. He went to collect her from the city in which she was situated and brought her home. At the age of 21, she wanted to sleep with me for the first time in many, many years. That night we didn´t talk, she cried like a baby and I held her in my arms in bed.
No, I would never do a check, that does not mean I do not feel less love or protection towards my kids.
The NHS provides me with a fantastic service. I receive regular reminders in the post to attend free mammograms and cervical smears. Here in Spain I recently went to visit the doctor to advise her that my mammogram in the UK last year was clear, for her records, and I was sent for a free annual blood analysis.
I was given a copy of the results, three pages long because absolutely everything was tested, two days later!
Fortunately my health ia A1...but how fantastic that all this is free, regardless as to which European country I reside.
Aneurin Bevan Creator of the National Health Service Born: 15 NOV 1897 Died: 06 JUL 1960 Place of Birth: Tredegar Famous For: Creator of the National Health Service
The purpose of getting power is to be able to give it away Aneurin Bevan
Trivia: The Manic Street Preachers named an album after a Bevan quote - This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours.
Biography: The son of a Tredegar miner, Nye Bevan was a pioneering Labour politician who created the NHS.
Nye Bevan is my hero. There are undoubtedly many ills in the NHS today, but it still provides an incomparable, highly skilled, and free service to all, regardless of wealth or status.
Fortunately here in Spain, I am entitled to receive the same free health services.
At times I have not loved myself, but it has in no way diminished the love I have for my children, parents and siblings.
I think that loving oneself is important, but as long as that hasn´t escalated into some kind of deep depression where one cannot function, it really makes no difference to the love one feels for others.
For me, my children are the most important people in my life. They are adults now and we live in different countries, but we have a bond unlike any other, I´m sure all mothers would agree with me.
As life progresses our priorities change, As a child, my parents were the most loved in my life, then, my now ex-husband, became my priority in the love stakes. Later my kids became OUR priority, a different love, but shared between us, and happily, no cause for jealousy, as often happens on the part of the male when children arrive.
Now I am single, he..the ex... has slid right down the scale.
As an atheist, God does not come into the question for me.
Many older men who have been through the mill, i.e. divorce, widowhood, etc, often want somebody to look after them because they are scared of being alone. Usually men who have been married or in a relationship for a long time.
I think women in general cope with the single life much better than men. Unfortunately for these type of men, that also means that the single women of similar age they meet, aren´t willing to be nursemaids or happy to have a stay at home, exclusively couple type relationship.
I have met some men, a little older than me, who act like my grandfather!
Please note, I am generalising here, not everybody is the same.
