Rarely do men shake hands with women here in Spain. In a professional setting yes, but if I´m being introduced to a man it is the customary kiss on both cheeks. I prefer the kisses actually!
Day 2 almost over. I survived work and am now at home without a ciggie in the house so can´t be tempted. I have sweet breath and my hair smells as beautiful as it did when I washed it this morng!
I´ve bought some herbal capsules as I had trouble sleeping last night, and I´m still drinking lots of water and singing a lot for some weird reason, perhaps to keep my spirits high!
A new class tonight of 15 doctors also spurred me on, I´m thinking the more people I tell, the less chance of failing
Anyway, I hope I sleep better tonight with the capsules and get through day 3 tomorrow.
Maybe, but I´m not addicted to wine or coffee, so that´s not a problem. The problem is, like most smokers, I associate a ciggy (or two....)with alcohol and coffee, don´t you think?
I´m trying to do it without nicotine replacement aids, (I read Alan Carr´s book about these products a year ago, very interesting) so it´s not going to be easy.
Supposedly the strong craving disappears after 3 days. We shall see.
To alleviate possible triggers to smoke, I´m temporarily giving up my red wine and coffee, and drinking lots more water and green tea. The water sipping also helps stop the urge to eat, I find.
Finally, I went for a swim this morning and I´m going to try to fit in regular sessions at the pool. I used to swim every day a few years ago and it helped avoid weight gain in my last attempt to give up.
Oh and I´ve thrown away my ashtrays and assorted lighters.
We fall in love...then later maybe realise there are things we aren´t so keen on. That´s when we decide to either fix or flee.
We help people, not because we are in love or have poor judgement, but because we feel something. maybe momentarily, but nevertheless it is goodwill towards another.
Poor judgement does not equal failure, nor a feeling that somebody has let one down.
