My neighbour proposed to me tonight too. All he´s ever done for me is install an air conditioning unit, why on earth he´d think I´d want to marry him is beyond belief.....I paid him the asking price of 150 euros for the job!

Hey good luck (I said the same in your thread here about learning a new language difficulties)in your new tefl job.

You will have to budget as the pay isn´t so great, particularly in Italy, as I´m sure you know.

I survive by collecting private students, something you may wish to think about when you´re settled and people get to know what a good teacher you are!

Well I always try my best to be on time, but it is a cultural thing you know.

Here in Spain nobody arrives on time. I often wait for friends and other people in a professional situation. There seems to be an allowable flexibility in the arranged meeting time. Professional, 15 minutes max, friends, 20 - 30 minutes.

I hated it initially, but now I´m used to it. It has nothing at all to do with bad manners.

I prefer older generally, but I´m not seriously anti younger. However, guys the same age or thereabouts as my kids I just couldn´t!

Forget the crap going on here with kids contacting me, that happens to all of us, male and female, but, although flattering, I have in the real world, a student coming on to me who is 32, not much older than my son.

It just turns my stomach I´m afraid.

Maybe mums feel differently
