What do you mean fat is a relative thing?

I do agree though, that staying smoke free is something to be really proud of, and I am, as you are....Imma and Feline too of course.

However, I know two people who gave up smoking in middle age and developed diabetes, presumably due to eating too much and putting on weight. I don´t want that to happen to me, and I don´t want to be fat, curvy suits me fine.

Now, as a non-smoker and many of my friends, colleagues attending my bash will be smokers, and I will be ...well....slightly inebriated...c´mon it´s my birthday, so advice folks, I will need a man to take me home....non smoker.

Offers? Not a chance here on CS, everybody is taken or too far away...so, advice folks.

I´m thinking about the future from a non-temporary-smoker view!

Vinney your opening post made me feel physically sick.

I cannot, and have never advocated capital punishment. My idealistic.....some may say.... view is that hardened criminals spend their lives behind bars, without ANY privileges. What could be more cruel than that?

I really don´t believe in an eye for an eye in the literal sense. Make somebody suffer who has killed a child for example, that does not mean killing them by whatever means some US states adopt, but keep them imprisoned for life in the true sense of the word.

Killing makes me feel sick, whether by legal or illegal means.

Ok well here´s the thing JayDogg, and please bear in mind that not everybody will agree with me.

I teach English, but I also include colloquial English and at times, text speak, so that my students are aware of every kind of English they may encounter. However, text speak is not particularly attractive on a dating site. If you could just try to type normally I´m sure more people would warm to you.

Grammar or spelling mistakes don´t matter (to me yes, but that´s my job sorry, can´t ignore it) just try not to sound as though you are sending a text message from your mobile!

In the main people here are very accepting and don´t judge if we can help it.

Well ok. here´s my take on things. Me, I admitted one ciggie after 9 days, but I truly haven´t indulged since then and it´s now 24 days in total. Imma is an angel and I´m sure doesn´t lie, she is still going strong. Oslo failed at the first hurdle, but admitted it, you too. Now...Lago, he failed a couple of times after initiating his thread, and in fact I thought we we were on level pegging, but no, he had not kept his thread promise and had to start all over again.

Now, we all admit to having difficulties and still finding it difficult.....except Mr Lago, who has not had any withdrawal symptoms (despite smoking more, much stronger ciggies than me and Feline).

Hmmmmm. The man who dishes out the punishment is not infallible!

I believe you Lago really!

Well Phoenix...and Jojo, your biggest problem is, as you both know, your kids. I mean problem in the sense of choosing one place to live as a unit if that´s what you both want. If you were free agents you could fly to each other whenever you wanted and eventually settle down somewhere mutually appealing.

I tried LDR (with lots of expensive meets) for a year, and neither of us had dependant kids....we couldn´t make it work, yet we did love each other.

Sorry, not trying to put a downer on things you two, just saying it´s not easy, and with kids even less so.

Well I agree stress, and I´ve experienced that kind of clinginess when anything I wanted to do without him was a huge problem. It turned out to be a serious problem in the end, jealousy and possessiveness equal clinginess in my book and it just isn´t healthy to be totally dependent on another.

However, I have known married couples who also work together,and they remain happy....although they do maintain their own individual interests so there is "time out"

At least you´re honest. I too would not want to live in extreme poverty. I´m not a wealthy woman, but I survive and have a reasonable standard of living. I accept it because I chose to give up a much more well paid career in the UK to travel and teach, and I´m happy.

If I were to meet somebody he would not need to be wealthy by any means, but he could not rely on me to pay the bills for two people!
