Well I´ve already said the birth of my two kids cannot be beaten, but if I think about personal achievements, then high on the list would be the very first time I stood in front of a class of adults desperate to learn English 10 years ago.
Phew, it was nothing like anything I´d ever done or experienced before in my working life, and I was nervous as hell inwardly, but it went well, and now it´s a breeze......my students love me btw!
In fact every time I walk into my classroom is a treasured memory....true! I´m very lucky.
I´m surprised, most European countries favour Cambridge (better IMO) but you could easily pass Advanced Cambridge based on what I´ve seen here, even Proficiency....with a little work
I teach TOEFL candidates too, it´s not the greatest test of English skills IMO, although necessary if you want to study or work in the USA or Australia, but Luscious, you have a great command of the language. Don´t let anybody tell you otherwise!
I agree with you in theory, the pharmaceutical companies are out for a profit by whatever devilish means. People however are different, and do things like marathons or other fundraising activities out of the goodness of their hearts. We all like to think we can make a difference somehow, despite the corporate and political odds against us.
Strangely though, I´ve hardly been coughing at all. In fact I coughed more when I smoked.
I remember watching a documentary years ago about a 40 a day smoker who needed a heart operation. He was only about 50 but had smoked for over 30 years. The operation was filmed and the surgeon commented about how the heart had been affected by the ciggies, yet this man´s lungs were still pink in the main and in pretty good shape.
My worry is the damage to the heart rather than the lungs. I´ve always smoked Silk Cut, the mildest ciggies, even Lago´s Marlboro Lites would have been impossible for me to smoke!
Anyway, today has been very good, no cravings whatsoever, and I haven´t eaten too much.
My chest feels fabulous, no tightness or wheeziness. My feet have been cold for the past couple of days though, not sure why or if there´s a connection. Maybe all the circulation is getting back to normal.
No real cravings, just occasionally I´ve reached out for the pack when I´ve been doing something, like talking on the phone, then realise it´s not there! Just shows how much of the time smoking is not only for the nicotine pleasure, but habit.
Good start kid, I´d smoked for 30 years with many failed attempts so I know how difficult it is. I think I´ve cracked it this time though. Don´t give up!
Well I, and most people I guess, have the pleasure of weird people wanting to talk to me in the real world too.
However, I do think that there is a high percentage of weirdos on dating sites, so the odds on the likelihood of coming across a less than normal person are stacked a lot higher here, IMO.
What is perceived as weird obviously differs from person to person, and in the real world these "weird" people may not have the confidence to initiate any kind of communication, in fact they may never even be in the same social setting in the real world, so of course you may find yourself in contact with somebody whom you would never have imagined communicating with.
I have come to the conclusion that many people on dating sites are social misfits, not all, but many.
Imma, I´m good thanks. Just spent almost 2 hours talking to a prospective date (Saturday actually) and I would normally have smoked throughout, but I was just fine with a glass or two of wine!
