RE: Did England drive there english lanuage everywhere/?

Actually, American English is a minority language, Standard English is still the most widely used worldwide.
Sadly the use of American English is increasing, due to its simplicity, easier to learn than correct standard English.
British English is still the preferred language in India and China, the two most populated countries in the world, as well as most of Europe.

Having said that, it won't be long before Mandarin becomes the world's dominant language lol.

RE: Why does the POTUS have to use stairs to board and depart Air Force One?

Because unlike most of Trumps supporter, he is not a god and cannot levitate.
A better question may be, why he isn't shoved in with the luggage? He is hardly an icon that deserves taxpayers money to pay for his travel. Especially as the cost of his travel in the short time he has been POTUS is already more than 8 years with Obama. Yet the ignorant never stopped whinging and whining about Obama's travel and golf.
Two faced republicans lol

RE: U.S. college scandal

No, being imprisoned will have a far deeper effect on their children than the punishment for the parents, the punishment needs to be harsh but only for the parents not the children.
I would suggest several hundred hours community service, so they are seen and shamed by everyone nearby. The children should be made to retake the entrance exam under strict supervision, if they pass, they continue, if they fail, then they leave the faculty.

RE: A Perfect Man

Guess you missed the part where the most recent survey showing the countries with the highest male adulterers, is Italy with over 50 % of the male population having cheated on their wives.
Of course, some may think that is indeed the definition of the perfect man, the guy who can keep two women happy. LOL.

RE: Misconceptions...

Guess the irony goes way over the head of some, lol

RE: What connects all human's?

In simple terms, communication.professor

RE: Never thought we'd see an armed attack on a NZ Mosque

Not really, why would it? Like most small and narrow minded people, he only knows life from fake sites and embellished news reports, as he has never been to China, he has a distorted opinion.
Without doubt he is the epitome of a right wing supporter. But then, you already knew that Conrad

RE: Never thought we'd see an armed attack on a NZ Mosque

Yet your posts would suggest otherwise, you have dismissed the majority of reports that he was a right wing extremist, because that goes against your own agenda, you have agreed with the posts that have spread gossip and unproven "facts" that are supporting your well published point of view.
So in my opinion, you have indeed, rushed in and support only those points that carry your own opinion of Islam and immigration, rather than look at the whole picture and wait to see what further information is forthcoming.

RE: Never thought we'd see an armed attack on a NZ Mosque

Yet almost all the worlds stories on this tragedy say the opposite, that he was an extremist right winger, acting alone, and that he changed after travelling to Europe.

RE: Really - Men / Women have a love life with kids younger than their own!

Yet if you go to Asia, you will find a high population of Scandanavians in the 70's and older married to girls in the 20's and 30's. And living a very happy life lol.

RE: Strong / Weak - How do you handle Life?

So why do you come across as a child seeking attention?

RE: Negativity - Do we need it?

I think I'm talking to someone with an inflated image of themselves, combined with a superiority complex, that is as fake as a nine rand note, someone who thinks all men are the same and therefore bad, as she judges the entire world on her own obviously limited experiences.
Unbelievably easy to analyse.
laugh laugh laugh

RE: Negativity - Do we need it?

Is it so hard to understand that one has a choice? We know murder is wrong, we don't have to murder someone to appreciate the living.

Why be so negative all the time? Maybe being positive is too hard for you, negativity is easier to portray, positivity takes empathy, understanding and maybe a working brain. Try it, you have little to lose and a lot to gain.

RE: For guys, what do you think motivates women more?

Without meaning to be offencive, you need a professional help/support group not members of an international dating forum. If you don't find help soon, you will be so buried you will go into a deep depression.
Find a local dementia support group and start there, Do it today!

RE: Boeing to 'Upgrade' software across the 737MAX Fleet in coming weeks

I don't understand why anyone would want to fly anywhere in a boeing airplane, they are noisy and uncomfortable, I alwats choose to fly on an Airbus, they are a far more comfortable means of travel, especially over a long haul flight. I even fly via S. Korea to avoid flying on a Boeing to the Philippines lol.
Hopefully, they will go bust and Airbus can take over their sales.

RE: Negativity - Do we need it?

thumbs up rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Time Travellers.........

Really? Think you will find if you travel faster than light you will be ahead of time not behind it, remember time is a human invention, in reality it doesn't exist, quantum physics proves that.

RE: PEACE,why world don,t have peace?

I would disagree with the OP, I live in a country where religion is almost non existant, certainly not as much as many other countries, yet this is an incredibly peaceful place, people are happpy and not violent, sure there is the odd outburst now and again, but with the worlds largest population you are bound to have few rotten apples.
So I would suggest that it is, in fact, Religion that is the cause for the malcontent that's all over the place, I would go so far as to suggest it is religion that actually splits up families rather than holds them together, as religion creates expectations that are often misunderstood and therefore unattainable.

RE: at last, Trump landed in Vietnam

I visited Ho chi minh last summer, stayed for just over a week, never needed a visa, so surprised Canadians need one.
I found the people very friendly but the local food not that great, but there were some Thai restaurants that made up for that lol

RE: I don't like or respect Donald Trump because....

He is a prolific and compulsive liar, he has cheated on his wives, why would anyone like that kind of person?
And this is not from fake media, but from his own lips.

RE: NO COLLUSION... MOVE ON!

I guess he works for free when not investigating a wholly unsuitable President. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
FFS he gets paid whatever he is investigating, and there is NO proof he is getting any extra pay to investigate trump.
Twist it any way you want, Muller is doing his job and you don't like that he just may proof Dems and many Republicans were right all along about trumps unsuitability as President.

RE: NO COLLUSION... MOVE ON!

Not sure why anyone would take notice of an opinion from someone who supports a liar, cheat and bully roll eyes

RE: NO COLLUSION... MOVE ON!

Which is why Muller is taking his time, to ensure the right wing senate cannot bury his report (coverup). He needs his report to be perfect, so the senate has to take action.

RE: NO COLLUSION... MOVE ON!

The Senate committee is irrelevant, It is Muller's investigation that will count, not some biased political group.
Muller is making a full and detailed investigation.

RE: do you like our Chinese spring festival?

5th Feb this coming Tuesday, year of the pig.

RE: do you like our Chinese spring festival?

It is certainly becoming more popular around the world, I'll be celebrating it in Cebu City in the Philippines, before a short trip to Thailand, then back to China.
There is always a big festival on new years eve and new year day here in Cebu, lots of Chinese food lol.

Xin nián kuài lè ( Hope that is right)

RE: Idioms?

Exactly, as that would be an expression rather than an idiom.thumbs up

RE: Idioms?

It is a shame "Google" doesn't understand that an "Idiom" and a "Phrase or statement" are not always the same.

In simple form, an idiom is a phrase that describes one thing, but means something very different.

"Let the cat out of the bag" is a good example of an idiom, whereas to "whet your appetite" is an expression not an idiom.

RE: pharmaceutical maffia.

RE: pharmaceutical maffia.

Strange that the biggest pharmaceutical companies are financial supporters of the Republican party, Also that Obamacare, if it had been allowed, would have effectively stopped the huge mark ups.
The blame lies squarely on Republicans shoulders. But the thruth won't be believed.
