Botched Tattoos...

I followed a link from one site that linked to another site, then to another. It was about people who have excessive tattoos and have regretted getting them.

The funniest was a woman who wanted a tattoo like the first example:

(note: this image has been faked by Photoshop as the same woman's arm appears on many other tattoo samples)

The actual tattoo appears here:

Have dog will travel...

I saw a guy on a motorcycle with his dog yesterday. Unusual, but funny. The dog appeared to be comfortable with this position as a secure rider, complete with sunglasses.

HEY! I wanna be stuck on politics...

Obviously, I don't possess the talent to post blog after blog and continue to comment to my blogs... even if it annoys the other bloggers and mentioned by administration that CS is a dating site...
Where can I to learn these skills?
Maybe I should Google 'One Trick Pony'

DING DING DING Ding Ding Ding ding ding ding... DOPPLER

I'm sure everyone has heard the name Doppler. Yeah... but what is it? The Doppler effect (or Doppler shift) is most noted in sound waves when a train approaching has a different sound after it passes you. It's a pressure shift as the sound waves coming are different than going.
Austrian mathematician and physicist Christian Andreas Doppler is the guy celebrated for his principle known as the Doppler effect.

Here's a short video explaining the Doppler effect:

Twits on Twitter...

I've been formulating this blog for a few weeks now and originally planned to name it "Freedom of Speech" as news comes across the internet daily about Musk and his purchase of the social media giant Twitter.

The conservatives are singing in halls he will resurrect Trump's account and free speech with reign throughout the land!
(That sounds like a line from a movie trailer)
.
A while back Twitter closes a few accounts that were in violation of their terms of service (TOS) and since Trump was one of them, he cries 'Wolf' and professes to create his own social media site to allow him full reign to Trump-style freedom of speech.
I'm not sure his site TRUTH is actually up and running after an unsuccessful launch with lots of technical issues.

Prior to the last presidential election, Yahoo had to eliminate comments to their articles as it was too difficult to maintain. Personal insults and misinformation were too much and they closed it down. Were you one of the readers that said it infringed on their right to free speech?

Don't be mistaken. Musk purchasing Twatter won't make the site exempt from limits as your level of free speech isn't the same as everyone's level of free speech. They still have to act in a professional manner and expected to post guidelines for members to follow.

It's only a matter of time if Twitter becomes a political free-for-all, then some accounts will be forced to be closed. Proof of that would be accepting Nazi and extreme-wing hate groups.

Free speech actually does have it's limits.

I've been known to do other things...

Simple concept... I've been known to do other things when blogging. It's called multitasking. Maybe you have tried this too! In my last blog, a member was irritated that I wasn't able to quickly respond to their comment. Actually, It was after dinner and I was doing other things that included cat napping. Maybe I should leave messages that I'm away from the computer. No, that wouldn't be accurate as I was at the computer but my eyes were closed.

I'm so guilty of surfing, online shopping or replying to emails when I blog.

I called someone and they didn't answer the phone, so I left a message. After leaving the message, I went to do something else. On occasion, I've actually called another person right after that... and it's happened that the first person will return my call/message and complain that I wasn't 'standing by' for their return call. They had to leave me a message to call them.

Life goes on... I don't want to admit it, but the cellphone sometimes accompanies my trips to the toilet. Oh, I just admitted it.

I'm currently doing a bathroom remodel and met the client last week to go over details. He asked that a small cabinet be added next to the toilet so he can work when he poops. My response was "No problem, the cabinet is in the layout."

I was in a meeting with clients when a text message came through from another client who was shopping for a refrigerator and ready to make the purchase at that moment. He expected an instant reply from me.

Unless I take the job in a 911 emergency call center, there's a good chance I'll be doing more than one thing at a time.

Double widow...

I do math often in my business and possibly more at CS. There is a high percentage of young widows registered on CS in the 30 to 35ish range looking to find a husband in the 60 to 99 range. Logically, with the separation of over 30 years that would greatly improve their odds of becoming a double widow. Logically... So maybe there is benefit to doing so.

Traumatic chip on the shoulder...

I was lucky to have parents that didn't divorce. Some of my friends did. When their parents remarried, they had a tough life growing up as 'the step-child', usually torn between accepting difficult terms for visitation, alienation from a distant biological parent and power struggles when the step-parent wasn't accepting them... on any terms.
Some carried the experience of being a step-child like a chip on their shoulder.

One guy who had an older sister and a younger brother was raised with both biological parents... no divorce. However, they were the meanest parents I knew of. He couldn't wait to get a job and move away from home. He became a successful musician, married and had 2 kids. While he was on the road (earning a living and sending money home) his wife has an affair that led to divorce. The experience literally caused a career change so he didn't repeat the same mistake.
Dysfunctional would be a good description of his home life growing up and he brought that into his marriage as well.

Looking back, those kids had it easy as some of my school mates were adopted. Some not knowing who their biological parents were. To grow up knowing you weren't accepted at birth is a hard road to travel. While things have changed with orphanages opening records and DNA testing, that doesn't change the past.

On a brighter note, I do recall one couple adopting a baby girl from Asia. The adoption requirements were strict. They had the funds and knowledge to do it right where their daughter although 'different' from her classmates was a shining star and accepted by everyone she came in contact with.

Chirping all night long...

The birds around here chirp all night long. Lighting around all the condo buildings is super bright and the birds hang in the trees chirping... all night long.

My grandmother had a parakeet that wouldn't shut up if the lights were on, so she draped a dark cloth over his cage.

Maybe I can invent a directional high pitched horn, above the range of human hearing and point it at these freakin' birds to convince them to go somewhere else to chirp all night.

Shan't...

There are lots of British (English, Irish, Scottish) words that are not normally spoken in America. Shan't (contraction of shall not) is one of them.
Learnt is another. I'm trying to figure out where learnt fits in. If learned is the past tense of learn, does learnt fortify something you've already learned?
Sort of a past-past tense...

How to write a catchy & popular blog...

There is a definite art to writing a popular blog. Seek your audience. Politics and religion can only carry you so far. Find a topic that hits home and brings something to your blog that everyone can comment on. Menopause for example. Both men and woman are affected by this medical phenomenon/phenomena. Leave out opinion and state hard medical facts. You know, something that cannot be disputed. Then wait and see how quickly your blog grows...

Gold wedding band...

Weekends, mean the guys meeting at the model aircraft flying field. The weather was windy and rain approaching, so we broke and went for lunch. While we were, there it poured down rain and an hour later the sun started coming out. Everyone went their way and I returned to the field. Not long after, one of the other guys shows back up... not to fly. He came looking for his wedding ring. He put it in his pocket when he flew as it clacks against the controller.
Now, it's gone. So we did a search of his path to and from his car, but no luck.
I was ready to suggest he check back at the restaurant. He calls and they have his missing ring at the front reception. Awesome!

He was worried should someone find it they would keep or put it online to sell...
My superstition is keeping a wedding ring (even if you found it) would bring bad luck.
Get it back to the original owner...
