I often hear that men are visual creatures. If that is true, a blind man has a definite advantage over the seeing when it comes to sex. They see with their hands, don’t they? No, I don’t envy them; I don’t want to be blind, but I admire the way in which they adapt to their circumstances.

About 35 years ago, I had a colleague who had a blind wife. Let’s call him Jakes. One day I saw them driving and I noticed what a beautiful woman she was. I remarked about her beauty to another colleague and he laughed and said that only a blind woman could marry Jakes. Only then, I learned that she was blind. Granted, Jakes was not good-looking at all, but I think she saw something else in him.

I’m not going to go into the detail of how it came about, but one day after work, the situation arose that Jakes had to drive somebody home in that person’s own car and I had to follow them in his car. His wife was with me in his car. I did not know where our destination was. The traffic was thick and we were separated from one another. I cursed under my breath but she assured me that it is no problem. She said that she knew where they were going.

‘Big Deal’, I thought, but what a revelation it turned out to be. She started giving directions with detailed landmarks as we went along. She frequently asked for feedback as we drove. I asked her if she remembered all this from before she became blind. She said that she was born blind. Just when I thought we were lost forever, she told me to turn right at the next street corner and I will find Jakes at the fourth house on the left. Jakes was just coming out the house as we stopped in front of the gate.

While Jakes drove me back to my own car, I was amazed once more. As we drove along, he patiently explained to his wife, in vivid detail, everything he saw along the way. The traffic lights, the shops, other cars, pedestrians, trees, and everything else. Sometimes she probed him for more detail like color or size. He was her eyes.

I’m in grave trouble. Some guy is threatening to shoot me or run me over with his car. I’m soiling my underpants with fear. I’m too scared to leave the house.

I received a hand-delivered note in my mailbox yesterday informing me that the writer will kill me if I shag his wife again.

The solution is simple enough; just lay off her, but who do I cut out of my busy schedule? The guy did not tell me who his wife is and never put his name on the note.

How inconsiderate of him!

I get very suspicious when two bloggers disappear at the same time. Every time when it happened in the past, there was a snake in the grass.

Jim and Wallops have been missing for a while now. I know they are still underage, but there may just be some state in the USA that will allow minors to be married. I think we must investigate it. At this rate there will soon be nobody left to read and write blogs.

Our beer-drinking Canadian flutterby is also MIA, but methinks she patched it up with her ex-husband. From her blogs, it seemed evident that she was still very fond of him.

But lots of things are brewing. Before Denmark’s very own Marco Polo got visitors, he was camping on the blog of a prominent Scottish blogger. I‘m not playing Cupid, but is there something hatching?

And somebody else is still crazy (after all these years) about some jerk with a weakness for Fruity Loops.

As for myself, no thank you. The woman who settles for me is mad and I don’t want a wife who is – please insert the F-Word (continuous tense) here – nuts.

I've got into the habit of watching the BBC News when I eat dinner, recently whenever I have dinner and the time varies on whether I'm hungry, it's Sportsday & not news, as this mainly consists of football (soccer) I'm not the slightest bit interested, football used to be Saturdays but now it's every day of the week On the actual news this week a piece about football Sky TV & BT have paid £5.136 billion for rights to show football games live, Sky paid the bulk at £4.176 billion, that's for 126 matches a season for 3 years Now on Facebook today I saw this on my wall -

After a few months on CS you have probably seen a few profiles. Some say too little, some tell you too much. Others are cute, some are sincere, and many look just too good to be true – and probably are.

When creating an online profile, you want to show yourself off a bit but without sounding conceited. If you appear to be better than the best, no one will want to contact you. And if you claim that you can walk on water, no one will believe you.

You want to write a profile that is eye-catching and describes who you are.

Your profile is a CV for your next love affair; not your next job. Keep it simple and don’t tell your life story. Talk about your dreams and expectations from life. Don’t elaborate on what you have achieved; rather expand on about what you still plan to do.

Be positive and most of all, be honest. Anybody can claim to be a helicopter pilot but a silly lie like that can cost you the love of your life. Avoid clichés; everybody knows them, be original and use humor sparingly. You don’t want to be seen as a clown.

And most importantly, use a good picture. The picture is what makes people look further.

Don’t be afraid to fine tune your profile. It will keep it fresh and current. If you have stopped smoking or if you have changed your religion it is vital to indicate it in your profile, it may be important to others.
