Legal Alien

Legal Alien

Humans develop a deep connections with the places they settle in and the need to feel we belong to a place, to a unit or group of people, a community or society is inherent in us all! The mind might not always grasp what the heart feels.

To be able to see is great I would not like no sight to be unable to see I can't imagine anything worse Not to see the various seasons each with its own beauty only to feel the sunbeams would be to miss the rays To watch them as they danc

The Gift An Empty Box

The Gift: An Empty Box

I've seen many separate because they find it convenient to just say "we've just grown apart". That I think is just pathetically sad! I believe it all boils down to allowing themselves to fall into some kind of a rut...because if we do not stop treating our partners the way we treated them before we married them...if we do not stop trying to please, to respect, to surprise, to show we care, to make him/her the most especial part of our lives...I can't see "growing apart" ever having a chance on us. Marriage needs refreshing, even re-styling...again and again to keep it's blood flowing. If we do nothing, if we become complacent and never try to put excitement or adventure in our marriages we are basically not creating any memories and experiences to deposit in our box...memories to hold the marriage together when ill winds come and bother... not creating moments to cherish together is a sure way to let boredom sets in and overcome our marriages. In my eyes, it really is as simple as keeping a good hairstyle...it needs regular trimming, re-touching if you have colour with it, it may even need blow-waving now and then to get rid of the cobwebs in our lives. The hairstyle will not hold its shape all the time unless we put the effort to keep it looking as fab as the day we walked out of the salon...or in our marriages .... or relationships....the day after we walked on the aisle...

Physics vs Lifes Drama

Physics vs Life's Drama

Newton's 3rd Law of Motion: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." I am helping a boy labelled as disruptive at school...but while observing him the other day...he was only reacting to what the other kids do to him....unfortunately most of the times the teachers only hear the other kids crying or only see the boy grabbing things from other kids or pushing them away....they never bothered to question what the other kid has done for the boy to have reacted that way. We are not much different from little kids..we only see the other's reaction...we never look at ourselves, neither do we bother to think, or try to understand or acknowledge the action that triggers the other to react. This reminds me of Mothers Day...this year...the worst I've ever experienced...I believe I coped something that was triggered by an action / reaction phenomena. Life's unfair at times.

I find myself drawn to pen and paper, suddenly, I have no idea why, but, I decide to give it a whirl and see what comes through… I love you, I love you, I love you, Is a refrain that has been drumming around in my cranium these days…, Love who?

Transitions

Transitions

I sat there, in that chair. Waiting, watching, listening. Every fiber of my being, alert. Poised to jump, to respond, to be. I lay there, in that bed. Restless, worried, tossing. Each moment ticking by, concerned. Ready to fly, to move, to r

Traveling Demon

This is not really about love at all. Unless it is love of ones self. Do you ever reach a time where you just want to run free and worry about cleaning up the mess afterwards? I have been breaking free. No mess yet. But old enough to know when you break this free you will eventually pay the piper if you are not careful.

As a Droplet Of The Sea

As a Droplet Of The Sea

Ok this poem was an outcome of a silly event that just taught me a lesson ;) There is some reference to Greek/Roman mythology in many of my poems and so it appears to happen with this one but Girls of Paradise in second stanza are simply closest friends that you can always count on :)

The Beautiful Victrola

The Beautiful Victrola

I was trying to write a poem that was somehow reflective of the lost value (in todays world) of elderly folks without being insensitive or tactless in my effort. My intention was to declare that The Beautiful Victrola STILL has much value and worth - just as our wonderful aged folks around the world also have!!! Hugs to all you wonderful, beautiful, lovely aged people who read this poem as being my personal effort of expressing a tribute to your worth in poetic expression.
