if i were an iPod

Embedded image from another site

if i was an iPhone or maybe even an iPod
you would turn the speaker up just to hear me speak
and we'd talk
if i wasn't just a dog

i would be with you all the time
and we'd even go for long walks at night
if i could be something else that could be seen
maybe you would see me

if i was a TV
maybe you would pay more attention to me
or even if I was just the remote control
i would be the one you always want to hold

if i was your Xbox or even just a video game
then you would sit with me instead
and we could play games together everyday day

if i was your brand new car
then together we could drive under the stars
and as long as i can ride with u
i dont care how far or what we do

if i was your girlfriend
i think of all the time we'd spend
but im just a stupid dog
i'm not even a personal friend you call

but you were the one that picked me up
you picked me out of all the other pups
and for that i wouldnt change you at all
i will come every time my name is called

About this poem:
so many irresponsible pet owners, if you don't want a pet or have time for a pet then don't get a pet. so many animals are euthanized because of peoples sudden change of hearts.think it through. only one in ten dogs born ever find a real home. i'm not an animal rights activist, i just think it sucks...cheers

Oh! Nathaniel!

From gentle hearts
does one swoon
or is this a play
mixed within the womb

cry as you
die as might
who really is the star tonight

cracking paces gripping solace
riding the back of
succulent molluscs

grasping tethered feathers
sand dunes
a rightly home

who cares
towards the drums that beats

if I could only strum a tear
yet play the heart
bring silence

with no fear

they want to judge you now

as powers that be

come not
sit amongst
we shall
let it be

but stand
ner'falsify

within your cloak

Yet

lean upon your trim
for to give away the thread

falling crushed to your knees

they know not
you are
HIM

Teddy ~ Bear

Teddy ~ Bear

Teddy wants a friend to cuddle!

But he’s too shy to say!

He wants to hold paws with you, especially
on such a special day!

Don’t squeeze him to hard, a little hug will do!

If you hug him gentle and tender, he will give
it back to you!

A Teddy for your pillow, if you take him home!

Or keep him on your desk and he will be your
friend forever, near your telephone!

He will smile at you with button eyes,
because he thinks you are the very best!

He is soft and cuddly, so squeeze him softly
and give him a gentle hugging loving test!

Will you be my huggy bear?

ODDETTE (acrostic)

On this special day
Do pause and reflect on
Dreams of your youth
Each day now a blessing
Take each one by the hand
Treasure them each one
Enjoy your special day

happy birthday Chrissie wishing you
all you yourself are wishing for
have a grand day

About this poem:
I read and walked for miles at night along the beach,
writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.__Anna Quindlen

Family

Squabbles, pet peeves and more
Fights, Arguments et al
Are part of family
Sharing and caring
Even side-taking
Are common events to see
In the circle called family
Here on CS, it is no wonder
When someone takes a stab at another....
We're all different and unique to each other
So let's tolerate, anticipate the feelings of each other
Since most of us have been here a long time together
My time away and also my return,
Revealed to me,
Whether we like it or not,
We are family.
From Trinidad to Australia
Singapore to Jamaica
Ireland and the U.S of A,
I'd like to think we are all here to stay
So live, laugh, love and learn
Four L's that ensure we don't burn.

Snowbound Mounts

Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
With someone but them shared I thoughts inmost,
Why is it that past years don’t ever return?

Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Oh, I wonder where all my playmates go?

Days and years pass in their usual course,
Playfellows and friends I anew recall,
See them on the road, wonder where they go?
Took for road with them all my dearest hopes.

Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Oh, I wonder where all my playmates go?

Wish that we the playmates were like white doves,
Holding hands again took off to the skies,
Saw them all anew snowbound roads and mounts,
We the playmates old, giving hugs around.

Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Snowbound mounts, snowbound roads,
How I wonder where all my playmates go?
Oh, I wonder where all my playmates go?

This a thank you note, not a poem.

To all you good folks who have read and made comments of the poetry that I have submitted over the past few years, I sincerely and humbly thank you.

I am committed to serve the needs of others until the middle days of next Spring, when recovered from an exhausting schedule, I hopefully shall re-join this wonderful corner.

Sincerely yours, Phil.

Do you sometimes feel as I ~

That you belong to a family of Quality
and Warmth ~

No matter if your day is going good or bad
someone on there, always seems to care

They tell it to you as it is

Complementing a first timer
giving them confidence & good advise

Sharing stories of lost love

~ Warm shoulders to lean on ~

Telling all ~ that things will get better
maybe even nice!

Laughing when the humor is good

Crying with you when they should

Telling you that there is a better way

They write their diverse poems and make your day!

Their Romantic Poetry is awful nice

Thank you my fellow Poets!

I Miss you

I miss you

I miss the hours we would spend talking,
being open and honest and free
I miss how my heart would breath a sigh of
relief because you brought me peace

I miss the feeling of hope and happiness
and how with you I always felt content

I miss you

I miss the hours I would spend lying
by your side tracing the lines upon your skin
I miss the way you held me close enough
to hear your heartbeat, I wish I could hear it again

I miss you

I miss you every minute of everyday
it’s an ache, a sadness, an emptiness
that doesn’t ever go away

I miss you
