Gidday

It was only a phone call
In the scheme of things
But with it came
A sense of beckoning
A voice from the past
To raise the spirit
Catching up with the world
Had its merit
So far advanced
An so far behind
There's no comparison
Between our kind
But our ties go back
Forever an a day
Lifelong memories
Always to stay
An even though
Its always a while
A simple gidday
Enthuses my smile

Willow Tree

Strong as a willow tree, our friendship bending over time strong and sure
Gently caresses the tears away

Sunshine filters thru the branches above reminding us of the day

Lighting the way,

Oh my soul you soothed

Lifting it with the power of your belief

Stings of betrayal with talons felt

Forces beyond control

The wind lifted higher baring my soul

Oh how I miss the protective cover

The season tore us apart you traveled away for a time

Oh how I missed your presence

The laughter you brought to the day

But with such simple words forgiveness and love were shown

Tis true courage does come thru in those tiny steps redemption was made

There are some things that are stronger

Stronger than the world winds that blow

The strength of the willow bends with time and fluttered back our friendship

With each new wind that blew it became stronger testing the time

I welcome it so as it is

Tighter than blood we became, 2 souls we share

Time marches on but we stand firm, each taking our turn under the willow

Opening the light from the darkest despair

Holding the hand as the branches whip about

Raising the chin to the light, gently but firmly see it is there

Protecting us it has from cruel forces that blew

Rebuking us with gentle stings but always true

Shelter from the scorching heat of the world

Oh dear friend what would I have done had you not taken strong hold of my hand

Pulling me into the protection of the willow we shared

Thank you dear friend for always being there, for listening to my tears of sorrow, my tears of joy

Thank you dear friend for sharing the willow with me for being my friend in times of need,

We shared so much and there is so much yet to share, I miss you with all my heart until we are near.

Uplifting each other to the best that we can, listening and sharing without pains of judgment, no truer friend can be.

WHY YOU ARE ALONE ?

no one in this world wants to be alone
but some one became alone
and they think all happened as usual
but it is not real as we think

why they became alone
it is connected with their life style
they made walls around their home
and also in their hearts
they became more selfish
nothing to share with strangers-
who may make problems and troubles
it so safe to live safe without strangers
forgot to mind others very much

we spent hours on internet to get friends
while we forget about our neighbors
and never spent a second -
to hear a word from strangers
those who are same as we to get some help
may be for money or to get some food or friend
we don't want to give a smile to an unknown
but we feel fear when we met them
if it is true to fear of unknown persons
how we can make friends online?

its better to think why we are alone
and do something special to get a good friend...

In Appreciation

Dear poets, oh my friends, you are blessed with much grace!
It’s your poems and comments that are making all my days.

When I’m up at crack of light I just linger for a while,
Check this corner, bide my time, see if there is poem fine.

So all night it seemed alive and my friends did make their best,
Posted poems and comments, talked and chatted while I slept.

And at last when I woke up I found treasures of true art,
Poems, verses, comments wise captured mind, some broke my heart.

Keep on writing, dear friends, fellow poets full of grace,
It’s your poems and comments that are making all my days.

Sunflowers (for "Sunny" the sunandthesea)

Driving home from work today
I saw a sight not usually seen until August
Waves upon waves of sunflowers all down the highway
Greeting me as I drove past.

Turning their faces to catch the warming rays
Nodding and sighing as if in agreement
Telling me their secrets

"Tell "Sunny" "hi" for us!"
And so this gift of sunflowers
With their warm and cheerful radiance
Is for you.

Little Flower

A little flower there he stands.
A little flower amongst the gravel and sand.
A little flower looking up.
A little flower so sun struck.
A little flower with the weeds.
A little flower all he needs.
Little love and caring and then more seeds.

There are no Reasons.

Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Or does the colour of our skins deter.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Or do our religions interfere.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Because I need nothing and you need all.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Are we just hiding behind a cultural wall?
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
I feel your pain, your suffering too.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Take my hand my friend I’m offering you.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
United as one we can carry the load.
~
Is there no reason why we can’t be friends?
Together, together till the end of the road.

"Admonished"

Did I REMIND of something,
REPROVE in any way,
ADVISED you ... take my COUNCIL,
Or WARNED against black spell?

First took the word for granted,
Then tried to get it right.
What was amiss, I wonder,
Or was it quite all right?

If only you could tell me,
What was the point you made.
"Admonished" was your answer,
That came to me through mail.

If only you could help me,
And put me on right track,
The word has many meanings,
Which is the one you meant?

I can’t (about friendship)

I can’t always hear when your heart breaks
But I’ll provide comfort to help with the aches

I can’t be there to stop you from slipping
I will be there when you need uplifting

I can’t predict when you’ll lose your key
Soon with my tool box I’ll have you set free

I can’t assist you when facing your fears
I'd bring some tissues to dry up the tears

I can’t stop you before mistakes are made
I shall be the first to render you aide

I can’t bring life at the death of a friend
I’ll provide a shoulder and help you to mend

I can’t help but see you are my best friend
And I’ll always be there till the very end.

Just Thoughts

I was thinking the other day,
just how much i've changed in
most every way.

I used to be insecure, now i am
confident. I used to feel sorry
for myself, now I am happy with
myself.

I used to be afraid to be alone,
now i enjoy it. I used to let
others actions cause me major
stress. now i wont do that anymore.

I used to be a people pleaser, and
doormat, and let everyone walk all
over me and take advantage of me.

The things I know now about myself
are, that i am a loving, caring,
faithful,confident, good lady.

Now I enjoy being just who I am
and am proud of who I have become.

And its only taken me 70 years to
get here! better late than never.
