The British Isles

I’ve travelled all over England
From Land’s End to Carlisle
From Lowestoft to St Leonards and
I’ve seen the dales and the Fylde

I’ve been to the Isle of Wight,
And Whitby has its charms
I’ve lived and worked in Blackpool
I’ve visited cities and farms.

I’ve seen those lovely Welsh valleys
And climbed their mountains tall,
I’ve climbed to the top of Snowdon
Just three times in all.

I've never been to Ireland
Though its beauty I have seen
But alas it was through the pages
Of my favourite magazine.

I’ve been to bonnie Scotland
From Jedburgh to Inverness,
But the days I spent in the Highland
Were the ones that I loved best.

We Brits have four lovely countries,
And there are parts that I hold dear;
But my heart is in the Highlands
Among the majestic deer.

Sadness

Sadness cannot be defined
To one, that's heart seems
To have hardened, to and through
The vileness of this World

Sadness overcomes ones soul
To the level of oblivion
Oblivion to, what goes on around,
In this vile and lustful World

Sadness torments the soul,
To the point of despondency,
To the point of losing one's mind,
To the vileness of this World

Sadness can be overcome,
To a greater power than oneself,
For me it's Jesus, God's Son who died to save us,
From this vile World.

About this poem:
Trying to define, a philosophical stance of eliminating sorrow.
But somehow end up in a Theistic view.

Covid-19

For us the disease came and went, a short war,
six weeks we hustled around the house
making pies and scones
the birds in the garden
knew nothing of the contagion
nor the autumn trees
from an endless summer
few cars in the streets
unplugged
all tuned out
save the occasional broadcast
saying the numbers were less than yesterday
all fine in God's acre
the universe just washed us clean

May you receive the same soon..

The Alligator Man

This is the strange tale of the Alligator Man
it all took place in the Amazon River, as a young
alligator is looking for food to satisfy his
needs. Above him a large storm was forming,
it had a very unusual red hue inside the clouds,
below the alligator was enjoying his find of a
large sea snake, when all of a sudden the
lightning bolts came crashing down in the jungle.
The alligator was very scared as he made for the
embankment, he tried to take refuge but was hit
by a powerful lightning bolt, he lay motionless as
if dead, within minutes he stirred, but noticed
something very strange, his body was stripped of
his protective armour, and he found the urge to
stand on his back feet, he noticed he was changed
somehow, his appearance no longer looked like
an alligator, his form was more human than before
as he walked through the jungle he found refuge
from the storm and his instinct now was to keep
warm, he lay down and fell asleep, after two hours
he woke up and had changed again, he was human
and found he could make noises through his mouth.
Leaving the cave he came across a group of campers,
he approached them and noticed the smell of food.
He approached the camp and tried to sneak away
with some hot meat that was cooking on a spit, he
went to pick it up but was stopped by a camper, the
Alligator Man looked in horror as they all got hold
of him, after a while they realised he did not
understand them, he suddenly collapsed on the
ground, he slept for an hour but when he awoke he
had become very old, the campers decided to take
him to the nearest hospital as they had not seen
anything like this, they gathered up their camping
gear and then went straight to the hospital, from
the rear of the vehicle they heard loud groans, they
stopped the vehicle and went quickly to the rear.
They saw the old man transform into pure energy.
What had caused this strange phenomena?, it seemed
that the lightning bolt had somehow mutated the
alligator's DNA and it cause an evolutionary change
making the creature evolve each time into a higher
form of life, the final change was pure energy and
thought, perfect in every way.

Crossroads

An arrow points in directions
unknown
Perhaps I'm following the seeds
I've sown
The high road or the low road is
a mysterious path ..who can tell
Tis a choice my friend between
heaven or hell..

When We Meet

When we Meet

When we finally meet
Expectations laid aside
In the moment we abide
Silently we speak

In a language unspoken
Our glances unbroken
Like the woven fabric of batik
Eyes meet
Connecting dots and lines
Impressions that defines
The unusual and patterned
Our thoughts a bit scattered

We take a secret picture
There is no retreat
Push through to complete
Thinking of this mixture

Of the anticipation
The sweet flirtation
A new sensation
Needs no narration
To describe the elation
In that perfect moment
The sum of the quotient

Our gaze stays focused
Moving in harmony
Flowing perfectly
Thoroughly, artfully
We're transposed
Quite exposed

Its only me and you
So, without further adieu
Anticipating activation
Like a standing ovation

Our lips part to breathe
Quivering underneath
Enveloping the dream
Of a kiss so extreme

It ignites a glowing flame
We have to exclaim . . .
30-Love -That's game
Not about who won, just
About the magic that's begun

Enigma

Embedded image from another site

Cloaked in a mystery
A fascinating paradox
Reflections unorthodox
Spoken like a riddle
Meeting in the middle
Departing from the norm
Like an abstract art form
Softly hushed rarity
A welcoming oddity
Possessing genteel quality
Of an interesting anomaly
A most unusual quandary
Contemplating existence
Indefinitely like an eon
Acceptable and logical
As the “theory of relativity”
Fires of scientific creativity
Ordered and chronological
Propositions not yet known
From a Prince upon a throne
Investigated it may prove
Well founded and true
Conclusively accrued
Immeasurable in depth
Expansive in breadth
Without further adieu
Bring me secrets true
Enigma, you are mystery
Open up and teach me

Empowered drama kings (lol)

Once upon a time I used to snivel
I'd even swivel with a snivel
But the mayor of Snivelsville called
a town meeting
'Hark unto me O thou snivelers of
Snivelsville.'
'Cast thy snot rags to the wind..'
'Let not thy drama torn hairy chest
find thee weeping for that is sin'
Gird up your loins and talk back to
her
Or she'll enslave you to the chinny
chin chin'
'Don't pee pee your pants on her mothers
porch for surely you'll mop it up'
'You are snivelistically out of touch
As you hug and kiss your rubber duck'
Lol

I am a little insect

I am a little insect
and I've just grown some wings
but what I wish I really had
is something sharp that stings

For flying up in the air
seems dangerous to me
with wasps and hornets up there
and the buzzing bumble bee

I've got nothing to protect me
from their nasty bites
I'm very ill equipped my friends
to get involved in fights

So I think I will stay down here
among the worms and bugs
They seem a much more friendly lot
especially the slugs

Peace

Embedded image from another site

When I think of all the strife and trouble
In a world like pieces of an unfinished puzzle
I sadly ask myself “where is the love”
That will help us all break free of
The untold wars, hunger and hopelessness
We share together as humans in distress

In ideologies spiraling out of control
Like particles pulled into a black hole
Unable to set our spirits free
To love one another and just be

Not knowing what the future brings
Rise up and spread your wings
Love everyone pour out your hearts
This is how we begin, we start

Change begins with each of us
One act of love and kindness rendered
Multiplies as we humbly surrender
To another human in deepest splendor

Yesterday is over
The future is yet unknown
Love everyone as we take our stands
So human strife will have a closure
And peace will reign across our lands
As we reap the love in seeds we've sown
