The Best Place

A stroll on the beach beneath a starry sky
Listening to the breakers as we go by

A walk in the country through forest of green
Cascading waterfalls and streams to be seen

Visiting churches with domes and with spires
With their ornate windows and angelic choirs

Sightseeing tours around castles so bold
Finding damsels and knight and hero’s of old

Theses thing maybe great and full of charms
But the best place of all is in your arms.

AGELESS CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

Ah, winter! What a glorious season. Especially with it`s white fascinating blanket of snow. But realistically , it means that cars won`t start, & you see smoking chimneys, blowing, howling winds,& lots of falling snow.
Just another time to store the tennis rackets, golf clubs, & the mower, that won`t mow.
Some people can be seen being resourseful, winterizing their cars & houses, just in case of a winter freeze.
In keeping with rituals of celebrating , with church services, & beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
Bur when it snows, the term "energy saver" does not apply to an older person, when cleaning the driveway for more than a day...
You get a shovel & get a rhythm going & suddenly your hip lock up to one side...& your back stiffens up in some crazy way!
You know you`re aging when it gets in the way of what needs doing & you can find more "energy" to do it all...& you may not care if it EVER gets done!
You`d rather just disappear when it snows...or wait for everything to melt with the sun.
`Bout the time your body loosens up & there`s another motion going, the handle of the shovel breaks in half, only to ricochet off the hood of your car, & into your knee.
Determined, you search fervently for another shovel, in your garage...only to trip over a ladder, slip on some grease, kick over a can of paint, & suddenly see a shovel standing in plain sight against a tree....
By now, your hands are numb & you have trouble opening the door to look for another pair of dry gloves (that don`t match)
& once again, you venture into the snow.
Meanwhile, some kids are playing And you automatically answer -"WHAT"? to someone you don`t even know!
Then you retire for the day, & reminisce about what the season means. You begin thinking about family, friends, & everyone.
And while you remember the exchange of greetings all week, somehow, you`ve forgotten to get the Christmas shopping done.
But for a minute there is a calming peace at the sight of glowing blinking lights, that seem to be shadow-boxing on a few houses nearby.
You halfway expect to see Santa, himself, with his reindeer & his sleigh, flying over all the rooftops in the sky.
And when everyone should be thinking of peace on earth & how a kind word or a smile can get the harshest person to connect...
In the malls, bustling children are scurrying around checking their wish lists, amid people, with their conversations, trying to be politically correct.
All at once, your thoughts stray to a time of raising your children, & you think of crazey glue in their hair, & a stain that would never come off the wall that really didn`t matter...
You stop to focus on the grand kids & if they too, know, you`d like to be in the midst of their clatter.
Then you`re back to reality, putting the shovel (that works) away, (in a safe place)...you hear from somewhere, bells that were softly chiming, Silent Night & so many things are brought to mind...
You suddenly bump into a box, that wouldn`t stay shut, with a teddy bear`s furry arm that dangled from it, seemed to say, "Welcome Home".
And in another box, higher then I could reach, was a well worn plastic Christmas tree (with two missing branches) making it another Christmas, ,only again... just one of a kind.

About this poem:
This may not be the norm of anything, showing it is unique, like all of us are. But sometimes we seem to forget what is always more important & keep to focus on other things that don`t really matter, yet take all our time.
Time passes quickly & there seems to not be enough with the way we think, so we usually waste it.

Whiz-Bang 4th of September

Mark this one on the calendar kids, each and every All of you,
a one-off epicurean beggar bids.
Spins a tale from fabled realm, scenarios projected from a crystal ball
Seating limited to an even One Hundred, females only please

If ever a Centaur thought itself a mule, warm is fuzzy is a jackal’s tail
but knows where all the cops are too…
Suggests to pack an overnight bag - lost dove on the wing caught up
the whirlwind, this devil’s advocate has your back
Be sure bring along your best perfume, any routing #’s laying around
ah what the heck, lifetime savings too
Triton`s Spear aimed Mermaid World this instant Stingrays You!

Lollipop disguise in no way Self-Serving, no not at all because
without even having played the thing
the Lottery Prize has just befallen Three!
Those hopeful remaining 90 plus 7 will have to wait most patiently
while the man w/the plan from FEMA eventually gets back to you

So what was it exactly, thou sweet and cherished, each one my lucky three
what is it you wish to profit by me?
Those Ruby Slippers, click heels together, tornado gently sets you down
No Munchkin Land, no balloons on a string
no airfare included, no jeweled crown; but instead
Fate’s straight hand would choose to hand you this:
A First among absolute Worst, this
alter-alternative tenpin from Mars; this
stuffed doggy on a trash bin flashing a wink, this
{all capitals} > > top dog-diggity jerk

When Me myself and I come around, best bet is to head outta town.
Wink wink blink;
but y’all’s beautiful remember; y’all jus’ b’yooful !!!

JUST ANOTHER CRAIGS LIST MISSED CONNECTION

original prose by Phil_413

TO THE BEAUTIFUL LADY IN THE WHITE DRESS

I was so tired.

My head hurt. My body ached. I had been working pretty much non-stop since about 5am Thursday morning. I was hoping and praying silently that the day would end soon so I could go home and sleep through the weekend.

I was wearing ALL BLACK as my business custom is. I like to portray power and control when I work. My uniform sets the standard for that. My tan is very dark from the sun and I have strong features and a chiseled jaw. My dark almost black sunglasses matched my black watch on my right wrist, even though I'm right handed.

I had just finished lunch with my buddy who I hired to help me on the job. Lunch didn't help. He was getting his equipment together on the other side of the square.

I was reaching over the bed of my little silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, almost deliriously looking for something.

I looked up and in front of my truck.

You were the most beautiful vision of perfection… in a Perfectly White Crisp Pleated Cotton Short Mini Skirt Dress that gleamed like something out of a fairy tale in the brilliant heat of the sun at about 12:26pm

You were tanned perfectly and your dress perfectly clung to your perfect form at the middle of your upper arms, around your ample breasts, around your waist, on top of your hips, and relatively near the tops of your thighs.

You were Perfection In Symmetry.

You were simply...beautiful.

You smiled right at me just before you opened the door to get your daughter out of your silver Chevy SUV and I felt The World Stand Still.

I looked right at you and said "Hi, how are you ma'am?" Your smile did not stop. It honestly just seemed to last forever as I stood there.

Then the moment passed and my pain returned and I longed for the day to end.

I watched you for a few moments longer. Then I disappeared around the corner.

I went back a few moments later just to catch a glimpse of you again.

But you were gone.

I'll never forget your smile.

Thank you.

The struggle of a self-sustaining flame

Dear lonely friend,

I'm worried that you might feel to lost one of these days. Knowing this might help you:

I am abnormal, in an abnormal world; struggling, searching - desperately most of the times - enduring and becoming; stronger. I don't go to sleep anymore. I crash and let go to my desire. We've made peace, even builded trust. I found out that breaths of fresh air come, briefly, with more wisdom and patience, so be patient. Beware of life's irony and don't forget that we are fighters. We fight and reap the joy of a win, jumping into another, just seconds later.

I find confort in knowing that you are on the same path. I believe that our resolutions will stage an encounter someday, a test of sorts. There might not be a second chance so don't you dare hesitate! Remember me! With love,

Happiness.

Rodney Dangerfield quotes

A girl phoned me the other day and said "Come on over, there's nobody home." I went over. Nobody was home.

During sex, my wife always wants to talk to me. Just the other night she called me from a hotel.

Woman: "I'm not interested in casual sex."

Dangerfield: "Alright, I'll keep my tie on."

I was tired one night and I went to the bar to have a few drinks. The bartender asked me, "What'll you have?" I said, "Surprise me." He showed me a naked picture of my wife.

My psychiatrist told me I'm crazy. I told him "If you don't mind I'd like a second opinion." He said "Alright, you're ugly too!"

After rain

Air is fresh and cool

After douche.

Grass is mild and green

After bath.

Leaves are shiny and glued

After grasp.

Sky is revived and azure

After gloss.

Heart is rosy and lured

After toss.

Everything is bright and true

After Rain

Forever live

I've watched the river time go by
Moments today and yesterday
The sacred things we barely see
Aloved ones touch or word or wish

Moments alive from long ago
A laugh from fifty years ago
Someone so vital gone to God
How can this be how can this be

The child's mind ere it dwells in me
Seeing things pass how can this be

The spirit speaks encouragements
All that was good, forever lives
All that's been good crafted by God
Eternally alive alive

Whatsprings forth from the heart of God
Form changes essence still alive

What would you have me do with this
The question that I put to God

And this is what he says to me
So quietly, so quietly

Slow down, be still and take it in
The little unimportant things
These are the emeralds in your cup

A word, a touch, a golden look
From heart to heart
Treasures alive

Each of these things
They resonate
With life and power beyond time

Put down the book
Turn off the news
Forget the store
Remember love

Such moments keep
Forever live.

About this poem:
It is simply that God made us
With love and intention

Hespeaks quietly
Waiting for us to
Put our distractions aside

He reminds us that what. Is good
Is literally forever
Alive in him.
