RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

The Irish Dublin meets are well attended, it's just in retrospect I would much rather have had 4 more days in Malta with the girlfriend.

The fact that i thought i payed for a bed, then got a sofa because i didn't ensure i got a bed soured my weekend.

It's just the same on each thread though, people used to say were attending, then never showed up. Some people flew in from the US, Europe, Scandanavia, and yet others didn't show up.

Everyone had a good night out in Dublin (you cannot fail to have a relaxed night out in Dublin) but my experience was i wouldn't do it again, just to say hello. I'd rather make a weekend of it in Dublin, and see people i wanted to see, and stop by at a do, rather than make it the reason for my trip.

RE: Instincts

It's saved my life, found me thinks, introduced me to people, and i once had a conversation about what astronauts saw on themoon. I mentioned if there was just one person i could ask who would know the truth about the matter (then named the person) she then completely threw me by stating " That is my husband".

I nearly fell over in shock, but she proved it and i won't give a clue to the persons identity, but she answered the questions.

What the odds are of that happening by chance, and anwering my questions, are well beyond chance.

So, be open......and who knows what might happen. I'll give another real example. I'm interested in animal welfare, especially cats, and my poor old cat died on 1st December. So i'm cleaning out the house after burying him, and head off with a boot full of stuff to donate to charity and drop it the recycling centre.

Anyway, three of the public are at the centre, and i sensed the nearest lady was a good laugh, so i said " It's a race to see who can throw their crap out first". She laughs, then lokks in my boot noticing some of the stuff there.

Anyway i tell her i'd much rather a local cat charity get the good stuff, and remark about my poor cat. Guess what, the lady concerned had started a cat charity, after being the local "Cat Protection League" manager. Anyway, they needed a mans help (all the other volunteers are female) so i gave her my phone number to donate help whenever they need it.

It happens on a regular basis to me, especially at the moment!

The chances of that happening again, must be so minimal it couldn't even be calculated.

RE: Instincts

You've all heard of " Non Verbal Communication", well, esp is just as it's described. Extra-sensory-perception. It works, it's natural, but if you ignore you gut intuition, then you are ignoring body language, and what some believe is the "one mind concept".

Short version, be open minded, and you maybfind when thinking this way alsorts comes your way, in the form of syncronicities. It's strange, but i do recognise them myself, but if i ignored these i wouldn't have got glass furniture cheap last week, and found a peice of art i've wanted, but wasn't prepared to pay retail for it.

I got a hunch, looked, found what i wanted £400 cheaper than i could get it anywhere! Sometimes it's like the universe is trying to give you a direct hint, but if you ignore it, or how it manifests, you'll never experience this kind of "Coincidence".

Had "Deja-Vu"? It's all part of the same thing......."phenomenology".

RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

I took others at their word.....

A lesson learned, I was first there at the apartment, yet i got the sofa! Had i known i'd have booked my own hotel, or not attended at all. The difference was, I gave my word, and flew home early to sleep on a bloody sofa bed, paying hundreds of euros for the pleasure!

Had others told me the truth, i'd have decided on Malta (30 degrees in Janurary...spending time with my gf at the time) or decided in whether i wanted to go to Dublin, so sleep on a couch, and get wet, and bored, for the cost of hundreds of Euros.

Short version was i was mad to make the trip!

RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

Yep. It just makes you think are the people who wasted your time that disrespectful normally, or do they think it's ok as they donn't know you, therefore it doesn'matter!

I'd have much rather arranged to fly back from Malta in my case, to spend the weekend with a friend. Live and learn.

I could have spent the weekend catching up with a friend in Vienna, but on this occasion, I made a bad choice.

I've been the organiser on another website I won't name, but it's the same everywhere. Peoples word doesn't mean sod all online!!!!

Do I want to listen to more old flannel when I've seen it all before? No thanks. I prefer mixing with adults, not people who you cannot even rely to turn up.

I hope your experience wasn't too expensive an experiment, just to have your time wasted.

RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

See the above post. People will say of course they will turn up. Organise one, spend months booking venues, hotels, doing maps, distributing emails, just as our organiser did and see the quantity of prople who will mess you around!

You might feel as pissed off as me if you gavd yor word, and flew over 1000 miles and then found I had to sleep on a sofa in a living room. I honestly didn't have the heart to just walk out, especually after the effort one lsdy went to. But would I do it again, to meet 20 strangers, who i don't know......

You can guess the answer to that one. I'd much rather arrange to spend the time with someone i knew, who's genuine, who will actually bother to turn up!

RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

Been there, done that! I kept my word and flew back from my girlfriends home in Malta at the time, to get to sleep on a sofa, and pay through the nose for the pleasure! I must have been mad to fly home early, instead of spending another weekend with my girlfriend at the time.

I kept my word, others were just full of hot air, and it in hindsight was a bit of a waste of time! Sounds bad doesn't it.......but it describes my weekend, but the organiser worked her butt off, and it was appreciated.

Others just talked a good game, then didn't turn up.

RE: Would you go if there is a local CSers meeting setup?

Even if the general site population promise to turn up, only 1 in 3 will actually turn up! I've been to one, and I got wedged next to some freak from central Europe!

Please don't base a long flight on the basis to meet people, who even if they lived locally wouldn't turn up. Tie it in with a trip to donsomething you really want to see, that way if others let you down it won't ruin your evening.

From experience, I doubt even if there were a get together i'd turn up, as I hardly know anyone left on the site anymore. Who knows though, never say never!

RE: Quality of your life

Ah, my life has changed dramatically for the better recently. Somehow i got poisoned, and to cut a long story short, i'm now full of live, feeling better than i've felt in years, and have just done a major life cleanse, by throwing away, donating, or Ebaying anything that was a bad reminder of the past.

Thee effect was what the doctor ordered alright. I now enjoy life, like the new car i bought as a change to part with my Audi...(love the Lexus) and right about next week i should should have Ebayed everything!

Cleaned out the house, and my life, and there was only one upsetting backward step, which was my lovely old ginger cat passing away a week ago.

The short version is i'm looking forward happilynto a new phase of my life! It's nice being genuinely happy, which i can honestly say isn't artificially created by a new relationship.

Who knows what will be next, but i'll be happy unless there's a disaster brewing!!!

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

I wonder if he's a relationship councellor? I'm going to follow that methodology and expect Ms Argentina to meet me next week in my local supermarket, demanding a relationship.

As i said, some on here are not firing on all pistons.....

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

Nice of you to say that. I have yet yet to work out when my fluffy animal fixation is going to wear off, but at the moment i'm drinking a lemon, honey, garlic, ginger drink to kill off a cold, so if therevwas anyone in my life to be here at 2am, then they better like garlic or ginger! At least it's fresh out of a juicer, even if it might make my breath pong till the morning.

Best I add that to the list of requirements. "Must not mind garlic or ginger, on the breath, or spilled all down my shirt".....

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

Everyone has a past. I'm pretty sure any woman near my own age won't expect me to be a virgin at my age. It's just common sense, but to describe people as "used goods/cast offs" means they have some core issues to deal with.

It might be a good idea to think on a bit more of a positive note, and importantly remember they are dealing with a human being, not a second hand hand-bag that someone is discarding, because it's last years model!

In short, lot's of the men on here are stark raving mad!

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

I remember when you had some weirdo make a comment about you, and you took down your photos. You should put them back up as i remember you certainly hide your face. I remember how pretty you are!

Anyway, there are loons everywhere, and now I don't care one way or another,. Just don't let anyone drag you down, or upset you at the end of the day, and your life will be happier as a result.

I'm so full of beans i will even update my profile, for the scammers and trolls to email!

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

That's right! It's been some time since I was last here, and you can be damn sure i haven't drunk one of those nasty things since my last visit!

Have you been good while i've not been around, or ended up being stalked by the mad male trolls on the site?

RE: Why so many men refuse to go out with divorced women?

I cannit honestly think of a genuine reason NOT to date a divorced person. If they are habitually married and divorced though, that make me wondering why. I mean i don't want to be taken for another financial ride, feel used, or be named by a lurking ex partner and blamed for a divorce.

That said, I put people before myself, and as nice as that sounds, it does come with consequences, such as plenty of regrets. Now though, it's a case of onwards and upwards, and i'm the happiest i've been in years, but it be nice to spend Xmas in a happy atmosphere this year.

So would it matter if I met someone shopping, or walking their dog and it turned out they were divorced? The answer is obviously no.....and at 45 how many single people are out there who might want to spend time with me!

I'll be happy with anyone friendly......especially if she happens to own lots of pets!

Have you ever used a Juicer???

I have to say,I've been using one now for a few months and it has basically fixed a health issue I had and I am now completely full of beans as a result.

Now I haven't used the site in some time, si I kave no idea if anyone will even read recipes etc, but on my last visit there was more life in a tramps vest than on the forums.

So, if you haven't tried one, and have liver, skin or sleeping problems, or fatigue.....feel free to drop me a line and lets see if we can fix you up, like i've just done to myself.

Feel free to post recipes here!

RE: My list of the 24 best movies ever made

I have to say a lot of film choices are generational, but there are some all-time classics that people can enjoy for what they are. I'll throw a few more classic movie choices into the thread.

Bridge Over The River Kwai
The Battle Of Britain
A Bridge Too Far

And from the modern Generation
Black Hawk Down
The Way of The Gun

Way of the gun has to be the best film I've seen, with good acting, well filmed, developed characters. and an engaging plot.....with a twist in the tale. I'd actually put it above everything else that i've ever seen.

RE: Which dish could you eat for a week and not grow tired of?

Paella. Any type, with anything flung into it. Which reminds me , I have to go looking for a paella cooker and a separate rice steamer.

RE: Obama vs Romney..........make your bet!

I'll make a really safe prediction. Whoever gets in will not represent the people of the USA. It will me more of the same I'm afraid because those that put those politicians in power are behind both sides.

RE: men are more unfaithful than women, but ....

How exactly would you articulate and rationalise the act between being in a relationship with one man, but another fathers her child, and then the aforementioned man then unknowingly brings up the child believing it his his own.

A One word answer could be Duplicity. It's an interesting trait and normally only shows up in medical type scenarios which resulted in the need for tissue typing.

It might be a bit heavy for the thread though.

RE: men are more unfaithful than women, but ....

cloud, You might also like to know another statistic. There's a significant proportion of men bringing up other men's children believing they are in fact they are theirs. The statistics published are surprising.

I'll let yo look those statistics up yourself. And yes, it does take two to tango.....

RE: The First Move

I'm just friendly and chatty till the woman jumps on me, normally to shut me up.

I have a mental block between being friendly, and knowing if someone actually likes me and wants to take it further. The signal just isn't received through my visual cortex until I'm jumped on practically.

Otherwise I take it "were friends" or "she was just joking".......

RE: what is the proper way to behave in a date?

Oh whatever you feel like, depending on how you get on! I've been on formal events, wearing a suit and then just gone out with people after work.

I just see how things go. Some people get on like a house on fire, others have a pleasant time, and others go so well you could basically end up in bed together.

Horses for courses. I'm an adult, and don't have any expectations, but I've been in situations that went from one extreme to the other.I'm not being judgemental, and have no religious behavioural model to feel "guilt tripped" as in what you'd encounter by say Catholicism.

Short version, play things by ear and have a good time! Who knows what may happen....and that's the best part if your a curious adventurer like me. I love surprises.........

RE: are you happy

I'm having a good laugh on a thread! It's always entertaining when you watch a grown man make an absolute fool of himself on a website that's supposed to be designed to bring men and women together.

I had no idea "Patrick The Starfish" lived in Ireland.

RE: Have you ever seen a UFO?

Anyone who doesn't believe there's anything to the UFO phenomenon, I suggest you avail yourselves of some facts.

Try looking for something referred to as the Twinning Memo. Then look at the comments, then notice who general Twining was. The short version is Air Force Chief of Staff (1953–1957); Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff (1957–1961).

"The phenomenon is real not imaginary".

RE: Best substitute for Alcohol???

As has been stated above, if you can get to the state where your happy with yourself and "high on life" just being happy, you wouldn't want a temporary high.

I would love to be this happy! I am trying to learn to be happy though!laugh

RE: Ignorance, negativity, bashing, miserable, judgemental are all negative traits to have

I hate to point out the obvious (you only have to read the forums) but lots of people are on the website purely to cause arguments and enjoy doing so.

It's sad,but if you don't stand up and tell them so your complicit if you don't. Just point out your onto their game and disapprove.

Shame on them all.

RE: whats your favourite alcoholic drink

Haven't had an Alcoholic drink in a year (And no I'm not a recovering alcoholic!)

Czech beer is the best in the world, and they invented "lager". Bubvar if I remember the name correctly is the company who invested the lager, then Budweiser ripped off their invention and the company is still suing them some 100 years after they stole someone elses invention!

That's a nice beer, Recommend that one! I used to like drinking Cider, because of the bubbles and it's thirst quenching thang. Now,I help my liver as much as I can by not drinking, eating meat, or eating dairy till the quacks find out what is making my liver appear as though i've somehow managed to be poisoned.

That and I didn't like hang-overs in the morning!

RE: Have you ever met up with someone on CS in person? If so, what was the outcome?

I've met and dated one lady from the site. She was really nice, but there was an incident and he had a fight with her daughter about me, so Thought I was better for me not to be blamed or resented for disrupting the bond between mother and daughter, so fell on my own sword so to speak.

Met a group in Dublin, most have vanished from the site, and had a meal with someone after work one day who had just returned to the country. She's a nice lady as well, so clearly the fellas on the website aren't contacting her because she's single and posts on the forums!

As for me, dating anyone else, I'm not sure I'm suitable at the moment for dating. More friend material, or better still available to groom a friendly womans pets and just go out with as friends.

I've also got a friend and have seen people on the website who can attest to there being psychos on the website as the Irish Lady posted above.

Now she looks nice bright and friendly, so the men that contacted her must be nuts as well?

RE: Head Count

Take your pick! You only have to see loons galore on the politics section (Conrad Excluded).

Some of them are barking mad.
