Preparing For The Move.

This is just a quick hello to all my friends. I am so very busy sorting, packing, selling and giving away - I have lots of less fortunate family. I have a bit of a cold and decided to take it calmer today hence the time to do this.blues

The hardest part is deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. I have hired a storage container and will only keep enough to fill a two bedroom apartment with no out buildings to keep junk and tools. Somehow I have grown very much attached to all my junk.giggle

I will be living at my sister’s place for a few months until I have made up my mind about my future. I will be staying in a small (already furnished) one roomed apartment with a small kitchenette, bathroom and toilet but will have my meals with them in the main house. Regrettably, as they already have animals, I can only keep my parrot.sigh

I have accepted that selling the house is the right thing but it saddens me when I look at my dogs. It seems as if they can sense that we will be parting soon. They are always close to me, as if trying to change my mind.sad flower

Luckily my one friend, who lives on a farm about 100 km from here, has agreed to take the cat and both dogs. At least it pleases me to know that they will remain together and will be cared for properly.thumbs up

Have a great day out there.wave

Hello Cat,

I wish you the best with your transition.

When my ex and I broke up, what you are describing is pretty much what I did. I sold off everything except what would fit in my car. I even had 5 cats. Thankfully, she (ex) said that she would take them. It was a very difficult situation for me, but it was a peace of mind knowing they would be safe and loved....sounds like the same with your situation. The way I looked at this move, it was just a new chapter in my life. Hopefully, you can make the best out of your new-found chapter. :)

Good luck Cat.

Hello Cat,wave Back again, moving on does get a person thinking and wondering. I moved back home 6 yrs ago ,to help my mother. My comfortable life was disrupted, alot of changes. But I got to spent time with Mom,, her neighbors became good friends, and I did make a lot of new friends. There is a lot of positives in making changes. It took me awhile, but I did see the positive side of the picture.yay
Who says separating for good? How ever it is your animals. But I feel so sorry for crying crying them honestly. Abroad aha don't come this way No entrance with out two dogs and a cat.dancing dancing
Good luck cats meow Cat, with your move. It sounds like you have it all sorted or just about applause Must be a very organized person. I do not envy you at all, but you appear to making it as positive experience as possible grin
Here`s to your move going smooth and HaPPy with no hiccups cheering yay cheering
Cat, I know its a sad time for you, I had to do the same thing 10 years ago when my son immigrated to Taiwan. I decided to sell my house which was too large for my daughter and I anD move into an apartment building in Milnerton. My sister took our two huskies, but my daughter cried for her dogs every day!crying crying
Hi Cat,handshake

for a second you got me worried. I almost believed you were in the ‘Mars One" project..laugh..

all the best my friend. wave cheers
Hi Johnny.
You will not know what peach of mind I have with the animals finding a good home. I was one of my greatest concerns when I took the decision to sell.
cheers wave
Hi Wht
I hope you live outside your municipal area. It is illegal to discharge a firearm within the municipal boundaries. You can lose your license for that.
cheers wave
Hi 12121
Hmmm, this was not an overnight decision. A lot of thought went into it and I'm leaving some options open by going to live at my sister's place for the time being.
cheers wave
Hi Zeurich
Although Dutch is the language closest to my mother's tongue it is most unlikely that I will end up there. Animals or no animals.laugh

It would not be fair on the animals, esp the dogs, to visit them. The break has to be clean until they have adopted their new master and forgotten about me.

Hi Catrose I am sorry that you have to make this move. If it is any consolation. When I lost my house some years back , I had to move into one room. The tiny Cottage I live in now, is not much bigger than a large room. dunno At the time I had a Cat of 16 years. I decided to bring it with me to the Bedsit [one roomed rented accomodation/studio ] It was tiny, one single bed, a tiny kitchenette to one side of the Room. It was heaven to get rid of the 'stuff' I promise you !! wine Take your time, have a few bags of dont know, not quite sure and ones for Charity shops, you will feel a great burden lift as you get rid of the Clutter and stuff you have accumulated. applause Cat, its a very emotional time for you... be kind to yourself. Being an animal lover I do know the Dogs already sense you are leaving. At the risk of being skewered on this blog... I would think the kindest cut would be to get the Vet to call to the house and Eutanise the Dogs, they will feel nothing.... I don't think they would settle now.. I am an animal lover so it's not a cruel thought. I wish you well, take care of yourself and don't stress too much. flower You are a very kind and caring person and I know you will do the right thing. I wish you all the very very best in your new home. I have learnt to adapt to tiny space living and it can be very comfy. sad flower
Hi Wallops,
Yes I am a very organized person but everything is far from under control. I have plenty to do for the next two weeks or so. I fear ther will not be much time for blogging.

Hi Val
My poor health at the present time was a big consideration in selling up and the main reason why I opted to live at my sister's place until such time I can regain my health, which may take most of this year if not all.
hug wave
Hi Boggie
I had you worried? You had me worried for not seeing you for a while.laugh

Bte I'm not on the Mars project. I have Jupiter in my sights for this adventure.
cheers wave
cat
It is good to get rid of extra stuff you will no longer need...I just did some spring cleaning...got rid of stuff and aired out my place!!...It is sad you cannot take all of your pets but I am glad that your friend will look after your dogs and cat.
You were talking about emigrating?...
Hi Loulou
Yes, I'm considering it but I will have to go there first to see If I am going to like it. It will not be this year in any event. Some loose ends to attend to this side.
hug wave
cat
I can imagine you in a warm place with a pina colada in hand...parrot on your shoulder...and your girl friend of course with you enjoying the day...a nice vision...wine
Yes Loulou
If only that was the only considerations. So many questions and so few answers. But in time it will all come clear.
hug wave
Remember. all those farmers now ordered to leave their assets and leave Z......... will be flocking here.
More resistance to turn into troops.
The thing is those who were trained are too old now. The new generation is untrained and slapgat. It will take much more to stir up the tiger in the Afrikaner and it will be too little too late. The mistakes of the past has left too large a rift to be reconciled in 20 or 30 years.
cheers wave
But, maybe Im missing something here,
heard a word arms embargo or deal on news, that some politicians were denying or something.
but, didnt really listen. maybe that is the final warning whistle.

will try see if I can find something.
At least it is reassuring to hear that the people overseas are taking note of what is happening in SA and are not liking it. Times will change.
cheers wave
Ye, thats what I said.

I did try leave long ago already, but they held onto my assets.
and then I couldnt get the financials in place.
sabotage etc.

and my last thing, I thought, oh well. leave the assets, and just do a runner with nothing, but with a backpack.

but then surprise. Passport only needed renewing, and I had no control over that authorisation.

so, I saw all this long ago. new exactly what R....... and z were upto. especially with physicological manipulation on media etc.

but, sometimes one can see the future, and ones destiny but cant do a thing about it.

so, I know why the poor cow or sheep panics and tries to run off a farm now and then.
that is the one with intuition, well the rest of the heard sleeps and eats.
Hi Catfoot, it must be hard to leave and I wish you best of luck with your move and all your plans in the future. bouquet
maybe your timing will be spot on,.although, I think the currencies might collapse pretty soon.

wish I had that passport.
Hi Kn
Yes, it is not easy but not the end of the world. There are so many other things to look forward to.

hug wave
But Wht,
Why would they hold your passport back. One would think they'd be too glad to see us leaving.
doh laugh rolling on the floor laughing
Sorry, I cant find this arms embargo denial or whatever.

but, I did hear a few nights ago Z... saying, they need the AU to come help, cause of rebels attacking the country.

That got me a bit squeezy, cause I didnt know of any rebels wanting to attack the country.

Also, 8000 special unit troops from zimababwe being deployed at Saldanha and bloemfontein now for so called recreation purposes.
Aah, catfoot, listen here,

running overseas is very stressfull.
your have a heart attack and die probably, cause you told me you had a health problem before, was in hospital or something.

stay here and take the bullet like man, if your lucky.
If I get my passport intime, Im coming with you if you heading for Britain maybe.
your need my services there.
Wht
I have in no ways made up my mind and if I emigrate it will not be to run away but to retire somewhere. I do not have heart problems so a heart attack is a fairly small risk. Fiscal Control and exchange rates are the big problems here.
cheers wave
Fiscal control. cant remember what that is.
is it regulations on taking money out the country perhaps.

Lucky you, hope hyperinflation doesnt effect your retirement.

but, I did have an offer from the mafias daughter in cyprus.

dont know which one I should choose.

stay here and be slaughtered, or be executed by mafia after services rendered.
