But did you know men really don't mind that ?
To us, it's sort of like camping...

So I'm talking to this guy, and we've been mic chatting for weeks on Skype and talkin by phone. Even though he's seen photo's of my septum piercing, I hadn't posted any pic's of me on the dating site since I replaced my stainless steel jewelry with a tribal bone tusk.

While on the cam tonight, once he saw me, his tone never changed. He didn't say anything about it. So, I'm guessing it's not such a big deal to him that I've got the bone in my nose - which I expected questions, but was pleasantly surprised. I think he's innerstanding more that it's really important to me to not look like I live in or belong to colonial society. Typically, a matchmaker is a person who arranges introductions for people for the purpose of marriage. It's a profession in some countries. I'm not sure where I heard the name matchmaker and the song first. It was a Broadway show in 1964 and made into a movie 1971. Chances are my dad got hold of a record or reel-to-reel tape.

(I planned to do one long blog, but for lack of time maybe I'll break it into episodes. My schedule this month has me working 6 days a week and training two newly hired workers.)

Mail order bride was a term I heard as a kid. I knew it existed and recall reading the back page advertisements of magazines and newspapers. Women looking men were the ones I recall. The matchmaker would post some photos of his clients and guys would have to send letters to obtain more information. The women were mostly from European countries.

30 years later and the beginning of internet had matchmakers doing business nearly the same way, except they were crossing over to legitimate dating sites, creating profiles that appeared to be 'too good to believe' and fooling other members into thinking a real person was using the profile. For simplicity, I'll put matchmakers and scammers in the same category.

Of the sites I was listed, many had Russian and Asian women sending messages like crazy. I was getting a few a day. One site had a private messenger style chat interface, person-to-person. This was something new. If the person I was chatting with appeared interesting, I would give out my Yahoo or Skype. One woman sent me many messages and I declined each time because she was much too young.
Her English on the messages was very good and she was persistent. Okay... I agreed.

What I found in a video chat was the woman sitting next to her translator! She spoke no English and had gone to a matchmaking service run mostly by college students who were fluent in English. I would speak to the matchmaker who translated what I said and the woman's response would be translated into English. I was learning about meetings like this from blogs and forums and know someone had to pay for the service, so I repeated my position and thanked her for the time.

Scanning profiles was something I became good at and I noticed that a handful of profiles from the same city all had nearly identical introductions. Obviously a matchmaking service was doing the work for a few clients, cutting and pasting cloning the text. I became suspicious of messages with perfect English especially from women in China, I would ask if the the member was real or if I was communicating with a matchmaker!

Who will she be?

In an area where Connecting Singles is firmly anchored, it may be easier to find a decent match and a date if it works out. Men outnumber women among CS members. For both gender you may find a lot of inactive members. That narrows down your choice, but also the 'competition'.

I have checked the number of male CS members between 40 and 50 in different countries in the EU and in the UK. Ladies, here we go.

In my native Belgium you find 1112 men in the target age range for a total population (both gender all ages) of 11.6 Million. (Those 1112 men don't include me, since I 'm way over 50.)

In the Netherlands, CS counts 923 men in the target range for a population of 17.5 M.

In France you find that same number of 923 men, yet more thinly spread among a total population of 67.9 M.

In Germany CS counts 1499 men aged 40 to 50 range among a population of 84.3 M.

In Sweden CS counts 1024 men in the target age range for a population of 10.4 M.

Italy counts 1130 male CS members in that age range for a population of 58.9 M.

In Spain you may find 930 men in the target age range for a population of 47.6 M.

In the UK you find 6224 blokes between 40 and 50 for a population of 67.3 M. Greater London and Northern Ireland are slightly overrepresented.

That brings us seamlessly to the Irish Republic where we find 5716 blokes between 40 and 50 for a total population just north of 5 M. That dwarfs the UK market share and it comes even close in absolute numbers.

Some more small EU member states now: Malta is topping the CS market share billboard with 1775 male members in the target age range for a population of barely 518.500.
No more chance for Cyprus to do better. But with a total number of 680 CS men between 40 and 50 for a population of 1.25 M, their CS market share nevertheless eclipses that of the UK.
Forget about Luxemburg where CS narrowed down your choice to only 78 men for a population of 640.000.

We all, whether on our profile, or just in our heads, have a list of the characteristics and qualities we would like in a potential partner.
The list can be mind-boggling in some cases , both for the prospective partner, and even more importantly for ourselves.

To differentiate between them, maybe we should break them down into categories, from the Gamechanger down to the Would be nice, but basically Inessential

2. Preferable but not a gamechanger

3. Desirable, but not that important

When we think about it properly, we may have no gamechangers, but lots of No. 2s instead.

No two people will have exactly the same order of necessity. Indeed, some people’s priorities are polar opposites to others.
But it is good for ourselves to know them either way.


If we sort them out, it may be easier to separate the wheat from the chaff, and concentrate on what is really important to us.

There's two fundamental issues here I see. loneliness and living unfulfilled. ( and feminisms propaganda backed by cia psyops)
Men and women both have needs and desires and both have their mental and emotional ways of going about aquiring both to be happier and to enjoy some contentment in life.

Here's the thing I see. If you see today's females on the cam sites, just going crazy with 's*xual expression' and having a field day raking in the bucks. We can say two people are enjoying themselves and some what being full filled. And we see a female with no holds ...no gate keeping requirements or standards, as many webcams are free to watch and admire and comment converse between models and clients. Yes its a bit sterile but sex is all in the head right.

The secrets oit! Females like sex. Females like being creative sexually. Females enjoy attention and want admiration. Females want to be wanted and needed. Females want to make a living on their terms. Females develope and use their skills to earn. No different than say a roofer or plumber or singer, I say.

But .. People still live alone and are lonely and live unfulfilled, with no mate, husband, wife, gf, bf. And no LAWYERS! Yes divorce has really destroyed male female relationships and increased the gun shy crowd...
