vonney: Can I ask how shooting this man would have helped you? I honestly would like to know am not trying to be argumentative. The man walked away, would you feel better if you had killed him?

I wouldn't had shot to kill him but I sure would've made darn sure that he wasn't about to just walk away.I would've shot him in the knee caps.

If you are ever put in that position again... god forbid.... never shoot for a small target... you will miss... always shoot for the torso... much easier to hit.

But he did.

I am trying to understand how ppl can believe that having a weapon in your home that can kill is ok?

Please understand this whole concept is alien and abhorrent to me.

Galactic_bodhi: The lunatic in the restaurant thought he was God. The lady testifying was very sorry she couldn't awaken him to the true reality of his limitations, and very frustrated that it wasn't within her rights to do so. She was an honest citizen, and paid for her honesty in blood. The lunatic wasn't so honest, nor would he care.

Violence is very good at destroying things. Violence also creates some very beautiful things. If you doubt me, take a look at any mountain range. Or for that matter, our entire solar system.

There is a season for everything. There is a time to kill, and a time to refrain from killing.

Ultimately, what this video says to me: The government is not interested in the killing or the not killing. They are interested in maintaining their power, and they will use whatever Machiavellian means that are necessary to achieve their goal. And if it means taking rights away, they will do so. The constitution was written as a safeguard against tyranny. They seek to circumvent this. All animals are equal, but pigs are more equal.

scorpiosiren: i know what ur saying but u can protect in other ways with out guns

Their are some very evil people that would hurt you. I respect the view of deadly force only against deadly force. I also would like a peaceable soultion to end a situation but I would rather live another day. I would not let someone harm me or you or anyone else even if their point of view is different. Guns are a fact of life and they can kill you, the person that wants to do you harm also knows that. As Colt said it is a great equializer.

ok I understand what you are saying vonney or at least think I do and agree with you most of the time, first of all not everyone has guns here, also some that do do not use them to kill anything ,My son and I enjoy skeet shooting as well as fishing and playing Foos-ball ,so for us it is together time or whatever you wish to call it , and one other point is it is our right to do so in this country .beer

At the time that whole thing took place I was quite new to guns and was just starting to learn how to shoot one.

Now I'd probably shoot someones head off.

vonney: I know, and what I am trying to say is that I wish ppl would understand the views of those of us who have negative views of guns. I dont understand why those who agree with ppl carrying guns cant agree that guns are made to maim and kill. I am not saying everyone who has one will do this but it is a fact that this is the purpose for which they are made.

Deaths by vehicles are roughly equal to deaths by guns, so should we outlaw motor vehicles because they maim and kill?

To me no person should have the right to kill another.

Again my point is that guns are MADE to maim or kill, vehicles are not.

Yeah, well, criminals don't abide by that creed. Nor do bear or cougar or wolves. By your philosophy we're just supposed to let things happen. On that I can't agree. "God" helps those who helps themselves.
