A Ship Set Asail

My life as you can tell
is not as perfect as it can be
so i throw a penny down the well
to see if fate will help me

But the door will close in my face
my dreams may not come true
i'll get confined to this tiny space
so i look up to the sky; to you

My dreams take me to a place far away
to sail far and wide
and i am free for just a single day
but then i had to run and hide

my ship crashed into the sandy shore
and carried me back to reality
my life has beenthrown to the floor
but my writing brought it back to me

A Tribute: Single Mom to Paul Walker/ Mr Mandela 2

I'm not much when it comes to Hollywood stars and all that
But you see Paul Walker... Sir; I owe you a lot
For what you stand for in life inspired my son so much
The passion, the humility, the willingness to share
Your fortune and blessings to the rest of humanity
Maybe in my case it cuts deeper even more
Knowing you died while raising funds for my people!

As I grieved for the passing of your young life that
Influenced and inspired the life of my child
Tonight I too must farewell the man who helped me
Keep things together while I was drowning.
Mr Mandela, the world's greatest Tata
Your passion, devotion, courage to keep your fight
Your patience, resolve, faith for your people to unite
You taught me sir how to forgive and love!

Thank you sirs for the examples that are your lives
Though unknown to you, like bright shining stars
You have sprinkled stardust amongst us!
Lucky we are to catch a glimpse of your light!
RIP to both of you for a job well done
Your memories will linger because as Thomas Campbell says:
'To live in the hearts we leave behind,
is not to die'-

LOVE IS SWEETER THE SECOND TIME AROUND

Before my very eyes
I was engrossed of sharing
I was deeply rooted of loving
Someone like you
For you mean everything
In myself in my whole being

Chances then is taken away from me
We're suddenly separated by some mistakes
It was so painful that I can't hardly take
For it was my fault at the end

I should not waste those precious time
Thinking only for myself how to survive
I let it go did not give a try
Yet I can't ignore
For you're always on my mind

Now that we have found each other
May our love grows deeper and stronger
We will face the world accept whatever
Challenges in order to bind us forever

Though I experienced
Loneliness bitter feelings
But when I found him
It all melted like an ice-cream

For it is hard to ignore him
The feeling inside me is tickling
How I am suppose to pretend
I can't just stop but continue loving him.

The single squirrel

There was a squirrel that I did see,
Spent all his time in a tiny tree,
A short shrub really,
No bigger than a bush,
Everyone that saw it, thought it
was bigger than it was,
After a time the tree was trimmed,
Till nobody lived in the tree but him,
All alone with noone to hold,
The squirrel died lonely and cold,
There's a moral to this story,
As anyone can see,
Don't spend all your time in a tiny tree...

Be Yourself

Be Yourself Why would you want to be someone else
When you could be better by being yourself
Why pretend to be someone you are not
When you have something they haven't got

Cheating yourself of the life you have to live
Deprives others of that only which you can give
You have much more to offer by being just you
Than walking around in someone else's shoes

Trying to live the life of another is a mistake
It is a masquerade; nothing more than a fake
Be yourself and let your qualities show through
Others will love you more for being just you

Remember that God loves you just as you are
To Him you are already a bright shining star
Family and friends will love you more too
If you spent time practicing just being you by Ellen Bailey

The Many Shades Of Love.

So varied are the hues of poetic pen,
With a multitude of exploding coloured ink,
In endless shades to choose from now, and then,
To set the writing mood, into which we sink.

Should I decide upon a nature write,
I must select just one of many greens,
To paint a woodland oil, in verse tonight,
Of lush green branches shading flowered scenes.

Humorous poems are best presented yellow,
The verses to be sunny, smiling bright,
This Irish poet not e'er a dour fellow,
To try extract a laugh from you, he might.

To pen dark verse, one must use darkest black,
Printed on a page of sombre grey,
The mood is set, no chance of stepping back,
The reader with sad tears, may have to pay.

Poems to my Love, are always delicate pink,
Verse from the heart, her eye to see words beat,
Fond lines penned madly now in perfumed ink,
Extracted from rose petals, for a treat.

Erotic verse scribed in pulsating red,
Throbbing, bulging blood to end in balm,
My pen grows hotter with every word that's said,
Eventually burns to flames within my palm.

Finally if you poets e'er grace my home,
Feel free to take a seat, and ease your pains,
Relax at my bureau and pen a poem,
For it's ink not blood that flows inside our veins !

my beautiful violet rose

unique she is my beautiful violet rose
standing there peacefully a gracious pose
such precious beauty shes one of a kind
forever shes imbedded in my loving mind

her petals do shine with a bright glow
i will love and protect for her to grow
she has this wonderful aromatic smell
gives you a feeling of a magical spell

she has this warmth that fills up your heart
the strength in her soul will never depart
her wonderful spirit you can feel its power
she has blossomed into a beautiful flower

to have her in my life is a treasured romance
i enjoy this pleasure with a song and a dance
standing in my arms with her gracious pose
she will always be my beautiful violet rose

Don't Worry, Be Happy

I am a fearless Kiskadee
Sitting on a branch of this tree
Singing my theme song happily
With a Kis Ka Dee Kis Ka Dee

I sing my song very sweetly
Seeking to make others happy
Filling them with ecstasy
With its rhythm and melody

My message is not to worry
Despite how things in life may be
Don't let them make you feel crazy
At all times, strive to be happy

One can state things that are likely
But no one knows what things will be
So keep your chin up cheerfully
And sing Kis Ka Dee Kis Ka Dee.

About this poem:
The Great Kiskadee (Pitangus Sulpharatus) is indigenous to Central and South America, the Caribbean and Southern Texas.

I have added two more videos.
One actually shows a kiskadee in action singing his song.
The other gives an audio of one kiskadee calling and another kiskadee answering.

Giving In To The Gray

Embedded image from another site

Overwhelmed with fear
I whispered into the rain
Disarming defenses,
Giving in to the gray
Tearing down all of my shelter
within my hollowed decay
While this echoing silence
gave every tear drop a name
They begin filling the voids
with mundane hopes for a change
Heaven will save me from hell
and blue skies will reign
Lazily lay in green grass
watching clouds drift away
It's all but a deflated dream
now that my colors have changed
My thoughts have become restless noise
of uncertainties rearranged
Damning my emotions,
lies decorated with grace
Now I stand with a hardened heart
in the sobering autumn rain
I'm disarmed and defenseless,
... Giving in to the gray

About this poem:
Love seeketh not itself to please,
nor for itself hath any care,
but for another gives its ease,
and builds a Heaven in Hell's despair.

Moonbeams and Dreams

Walking hand and hand on the beach
Eyes sparkling with a lover’s speech
It was a beautiful moonlit night
Everything in their world was more than alright

The sand shone a brilliant white
In the background a bird hollered in mid-flight
All alone in their lover’s world
As the ocean’s waves twirled and swirled

Looking deep with wonder in each others eyes
The depth of their feelings seemed a surprise
The rest of the world slowly faded away
Their shining faces lit by the moon’s bright rays

The moonbeam shining thru the tree touched their face
The tree leaves shading the light like lace
Leaning towards each other just before their lips met
She woke from her dream no longer part of a duet

Missing her loved one with feelings so deep
She tried and tried to go back to sleep
Wanting to go back to reunite with her love again
To escape the feeling of great loss with such pain

She started slowly slipping back to sleep
So she and her beloved could again meet
Seeing his face appear shining in the moonbeam
She wanted to live forever in this beautiful dream
