How can I not love someone like you?(A Terzanelle)

You are my sweet, you’re my morning dew
You’ve colored my life, you take me out of the blue
How can I not love someone like you?

When the skies are blue, you turn it beautiful
When it rains in my heart you come ease the pain
You’ve colored my life, you take me out of the blue

When you’re not around, your love will remain
When I can hardly breathe, you’ll breathe for me
When it rains in my heart, you come ease the pain

You share me the secret, the depth of love for free
You’ve opened the door, held me like no one did before
When I can hardly breathe, you’ll breathe for me

I promise myself, I won’t search for another anymore
Because of you, my life has so much meaning
You’ve opened the door, held me like no one did before

I am your princess, you’re my prince charming
You are my sweet, you’re my morning dew
Because of you, my life has so much meaning
How can I not love someone like you?

Dripping with Anticipation

One night while surfing the World Wide Web
I saw a funny name that said
"Dripping with Anticipation"
How this stirred my imagination
Could this be the one I thought
Or will this lead again to naught
I mustn't let myself be fooled
My ardor must be quickly cooled
But if she is the one I seek
Then surely I must not be meek

I say hello and ply my charms
One day she may be in my arms
Through twists and turns our words unwind
I never thought that I would find
The woman that I sought so long
It feels too right, it can't be wrong
We talk for hours well into the night
Til sunrise fills my room with light
Must say goodbye but I just can't do it
If she doesn't return I'll know I blew it

The hours pass til the sun goes down
She doesn't come back and I can only frown
Was it something I said that scared her away?
Should I sit here for another day?
Hours turn to days and days become weeks
I cruise the chat rooms with the rest of the geeks
Maybe I'll see her flirting with someone
But she's not there, and I talk to no one

A month goes by and finally I get
A letter from a guy I've never met
It's her cousin and he hates to inform me
The news that we are never to be
With careful words that fill me with dread
He tells me that my Lori is dead

Ovarian cancer the doctors said
Chills went from my toes to my head
They tried very hard to save her for me
Ripped out her guts by hysterectomy
But it was too late to save her life
I lost my dream to make her my wife

About this poem:
This is a true story which happened about 8 years ago. Lori was from Knoxville TN. She was only 38 and she was beautiful. We were supposed to meet but she couldn't drive due to her surgery, then one day she didn't come online anymore. While she was alive I told her "I love you" I can only hope that gave her at least a small measure of comfort in her darkest hour.

A Man behind the Mask

He is a man in the past
Keep something in his heart
Keep something in his mind

His words reflect his mask
Hiding behind his own truth

There is a fear to face the world
His heart was broken so many times
His heart feels something to explode

He looks funny with his mask
He feels comfortable with his mask
That is the life he ever searched for
To make the world laughs in a bitter word

I Call You

I have fallen in love
It was inevitable
As the Sun and Moon rise together
That hunger fire and passion
Would consume my life
And dwell within my being
I know not your name
For that is of no matter
For I feel your soul

You are within that place
That courses through my veins
And shall forever remain
A part of my very existence
As the Sun and Moon rise together
I know not your name
For that is of no matter
For I sense your spirit

But I see where you reside
It is deep within my heart
Caressing my very thoughts
So I know not your name
For that is of no matter
For you are within me
As I am within you
And I call you “Love”

Think Of U

I wanna lay down on your chest
Whenever I wanna take some rest
.....................................
I wanna lay down into your arms
Whenever I wanna forget some times
.....................................
I wanna lay down on your lap
Whenever I wanna take a nap
.....................................
I wanna lay down on your shoulder
Whenever I need someone older
.....................................
I wanna lay down in your heart
Whenever we are far apart
.....................................

I MISS YOU!

Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper,
He walks & talks,
Like an ordinary person.
Is he a psycho murderer,
Or a serial killer,
Maybe a famous actor,
Or a police constable.
He is bloodlust terror,
One who possess skill of invisibility,
Now he is Legendary,

The renowed london bridge,
The place of unravelling horror,
An unknown destiny reached,
Or a mystery of the Ripper?

Over a century past,
From the first victim to the last,
The speculation goes on.
That his work not done.
But where does this puzzle lead,
Of the many of his unresting dead,
Still not a trace of him been found,
Only the memory of Jack the Ripper stills haunts....

Overcoming Depression

My days are long and my nights longer still
As I sit here watching this little pill
Will it remove the gloom I feel inside
Or will it just provide a chance to hide

When it wears off, am I back to square one
With an even greater gloom to take on
I have tried all the normal avenues
Yet I still continue feeling the blues

What is it that I really need to do
To rid this gloom and become myself true
Deep inside me, there's a fighting spirit
Saying to face this gloom and conquer it

Connecting with Nature provides an ease
Listening to the sound of a gentle breeze
While it's passing through the surrounding trees
Serenading them with the rustling leaves

I shall draw my strength from the divine source
In whose awareness I do not feel lost
I know I shall overcome finally
And once again my spirit shall be free

Death in a Coal Mine (Child Miners)

Into the bowels of the earth we descend
Down into the pit of hell
Crawling on hands and knees to mine
This precious fuel they call coal

Now Petey and I we are almost men
He is ten and I'm eleven
Been working here, down this mine
These last two years and month now

Mum is counting on us as men
Since Dad died from consumption
Coughed every night, spat out blood
Now gone to be with Jesus

The work is hard, it's hot down here
To work by flickering candlelight
The dust so thick, you always taste it
It makes you cough and splutter

We've almost reached the coal face
When I can hear some rumbling
I turned my head to speak to Petey
When the world collapsed around me

I don't know how long I lay there
When sense returned to me
By the flickering light I could see
The roof caved in behind me

Now I don't know if Petey was safe
Or if Petey was buried under
But what I knew and the news was bad
This was a miner's worst nightmare

Not a breeze came through, no fresh air
The tunnel tightly sealed
I think I knew deep in my heart
My bones would find rest here

Time passed, don't know how long
The candle burned away
The last light my eyes did see
Then blackness all around

I had seen night and I'd seen black
But never before black like this
The silence too was deafening
A tear squeezed from my eye

I cannot cry, I am a man
But the tears slid down my cheeks
I told myself for Mum I cried
What will become of her

The air so stale, tis hard to breathe
My eyelids heavy, drooping
Slowly I drift off to sleep
Tomorrow I'll awake in heaven

About this poem:
Sadly children as young as five were sent down into the mines and should there be a cave in it was more economical to leave them there and keep mining in a different direction. Thousands of children perished working in mines.

Gifted Hands

I remember the day that he came in
I can't believe how long it's been
Like a poet he began to play
Just an old friend that hung with the gang
A drinkin' man he had no plan
But he played the 'bird, played it for free.

'Cause I know he's here- he's everywhere
Take a look around and you will see
That cross we bear, it's in the air
Lord we thank you for those gifted hands.

There are demons we live with every dat
That tear at our hearts and take us away
To another place, some of us don't get back
These words are for the hands of the workin' man
Who believes in himself and he understands
Love, hope and faith are The Maker's plan.

One day we'll all take that ride,
And with those gifted hands I know you'll fly.
