My friend

He comes to me when I feel low.
He looks and senses that somehow.
He gives me reassurance when I feel alone.
He never angers and never moans.

He's been my friend and confidente,
For 15 years and not been paid a cent.
I value him above all my friends.
We don't fight so no need for amends.

He loves me unconditionally,
And I love him as he loves me.
No other has so consistently
Seen me thru troubles and adversity.

When I am blue he knows that too.
He keeps me company just we two.
When I am feeling tired or sick
He comes to me and shares a lick.

If I'm restless and in bed cold
He marches in oh so very bold.
He wraps around my feet and toes
And I really think he truly knows.

He never goes and he never strays.
I'll hold him dear til his final days.
He doesn't have any bad habits,
Unless you consider chasing rabbits.

If you wonder who would be so loyal
Tis my cat that treats me royal.
He is now old and getting thin
But a true and tried friend he's been.

Occassionally complains, seems to talk,
Only because I forget to clean his litterbox.
l'll love him fiercely 'til he's passed away.
And will grieve untold in my own way.

Lie To Me

Lie to me,
Help me in illusion,
Lie to me,
Let me get delusion.
Lie, softly whisper in my ear...
I know truth...
I need it not to hear.

Infidelity

I shall take a pinch
Of betrayal
A portion of despair
And a slice of heartbreak
Blend it with a large
Dose of grief
And mix it all
In your coffee
So you may experience
Exactly
How I feel

SIR HOPE

She started out young with hope in her heart
Of a forever love that would never part
Spinning dreams of a great white Knight
Riding in to her rescue making everything alright

He was perfect in every way
Gallantly granting her wishes everyday
Thus they would live happily ever after
In that Golden Dream World forever

But then one by one the years went by
With her dreams slowly vaporizing with a sigh
Her dreams took on a different view
As the real world started intruding through

Her great White Knight slowly faded away
To be replaced with the realities of the day
Her Knight may not come to rescue her today
But her hopes for the dream of forever do not sway

Moonbeams and Dreams

Walking hand and hand on the beach
Eyes sparkling with a lover’s speech
It was a beautiful moonlit night
Everything in their world was more than alright

The sand shone a brilliant white
In the background a bird hollered in mid-flight
All alone in their lover’s world
As the ocean’s waves twirled and swirled

Looking deep with wonder in each others eyes
The depth of their feelings seemed a surprise
The rest of the world slowly faded away
Their shining faces lit by the moon’s bright rays

The moonbeam shining thru the tree touched their face
The tree leaves shading the light like lace
Leaning towards each other just before their lips met
She woke from her dream no longer part of a duet

Missing her loved one with feelings so deep
She tried and tried to go back to sleep
Wanting to go back to reunite with her love again
To escape the feeling of great loss with such pain

She started slowly slipping back to sleep
So she and her beloved could again meet
Seeing his face appear shining in the moonbeam
She wanted to live forever in this beautiful dream

Boxes of Life

My life arrived today
Four cardboard boxes
Battered by sadness
Torn with heartache
Stained with spilt emotions
And tied with sorrow
They had travelled this land
Nearly as far as I
And seen so much more
Than most hearts could bear
They looked as if grief
Was not a choice
But always mandatory
I cut the string
Hope opened the covers
They were empty
Except for a small
Piece of notepaper
That was as desolate
As I

lighthouse of time

love you're
the first
lighthouse
with a bright beacon
that shines across
this ocean

carved into foundations
chiseled within emotions
plastered covered feelings
etched in stone
climbing each step
a winding staircase
one skyscraper
heading towards
the Heaven's

a lofty
tower built
standing tallest
rising from
out of the ground
one kingdom
white stone faced
marble blocks
cemented with
lead mortar
bonded together

upon the Cupola
a great
fire burns
lighting across,
the ocean
warmly carrying
for miles
one curved
mirrored soul
searching waters

lights into
a hot beam
setting this ship
on passions fire
desire in this ocean
swimming remains
the wonder
of you

a torso
of one woman
living in
the heart
beating drums
within this deep
blue sea
trembles hotly
ablaze on fire

loving until
the end
of time
sealed with
800 hundred
gold kisses
a wonderful treasure

About this poem:
one wonder drawn from the lighthouse of Alexander
800 TALENTS equal to 3 million in today's money to build
cupola is where the light burned
stories were told that the light could burn approaching ships
first lighthouse a skyscraper
Ptolemy 11 carved his inscription into the foundations then covered it with plaster
built with marble stone faced blocks bedded in lead plaster
a large curved mirror of polished bronze projected the fires light into a beam also said to be a weapon when concentrated with the sun setting ships ablaze some distance away
could also be used as a mirror that magnified images in the distance

christmas light

Before midnight
on Christmas eve
i put
a lighted candle
upon the window sill
to say love
of baby Jesus
welcome
to my home

This door
of the heart
is open with prayer
welcoming his holiness
to receive
the Lord's blessing
on his birthday

i sing
a song
with praise
kneeling a lamb
of God
happy birthday
lord and master
thanking you
for the gift
of love

my first haiku

singing in the rain
sun shines brilliantly
and the flowers bloom...

my heart loved you
together forever
she appeared, and love died...

I was walking alone
a car pulled over
we landed in Paris with laughter

"Love so Fragile"

Oh! Love, a most soft and gentle thing,
Like silent falls of white Winter snows,
Or a dandelion stalk in a little girls hand,
As her wishes to the wind she blows.

Those who surrender their hearts to Love,
Will enter the warmest place,
Of cosy hugs and gentle caress,
And soft kisses upon their face.

Love is not possessive, or jealous, it's true,
Love's hurt to the bone can go,
It only thrives on caring compassion,
And needs plenty of space to grow.

Have you ever held a Robin in the cusp of your hands ?
A place so safe and warm,
Just strong enough not to let it fly away,
Yet gentle enough to cause no harm.

Did you feel it's little heart beating so strong,
Like a heart that has fallen in Love,
When a tiny spark is fanned to flame,
By the fluttering wings of a Dove.

Now to those in Love, the same rules apply,
Invite your partner for a close cuddly dance,
Hold them real easy as you waltz around Love's floor,
Steal a kiss as if per chance.

For it's the simplest things that make Love grow,
And keep it as strong as ever,
Show much respect and give it every chance,
This one might just last forever !
