Nice blog to wake up to, as I was reading I was thinking you are going to be busy responding but you got to it before I finished.
When I was young & dumb, nine kids would not have scared me but nine kids now I would go running into oblivion. Nine Grandkids might even be a bit much.
Luckily I already had my soulmate, a couple time actually. I'm still satisfied.
I'm not a big fan of ice cream, it's one of my least favorite desserts but I love pudding, pies & cakes.
My first attempt at Chia Pudding in Coconut Milk is drinkable, I have to work on the recipe but you talk ice cream and I will go enjoy the Chia pudding drink, now that is delicious to me. Sort of Funny too, that I have to drink my pudding.
If I did eat ice cream I would have to nuke it first because I like to drink that too. especially if there is rum in it.
I don't like having to buy so much but I love Costco at least for meat and cheeses because the quality is far superior than any grocery store, I just have to separate the packages into smaller portions which I'm used to doing anyways. I don't have to go to Costco often but I love it when I do and all their other products have been thumbs up quality.
I had to back off BOGO's because when I went to pack for the move a few months back I discovered I had turned into a food horder. I was ashamed at how many duplicate, triplicat or six plus items of the same thing I had because when it is bogo in the store, I couldn't remember if I had it at home. sheesh. I keep my cabitnets a lot less stacked which is ironic since I have soooo much more room, I just don't want to horde.
I have been a huge salt eater all my life. I can't get enough salt and never have had high blood pressure. I'm a firm believer in salt. We are a salt water planet, salt water bodies take our salt away and see how quick we become sick. They put salt block in the fields for the animals to keep them healthy.
I think a doctor started the rumor salt is bad. People gave up salt and doctor's got rich.
@ Rachie But, if she can get a packet of smokes out of her pocket. Then she doesn't need my help so much.
I feel the same way and am shocked at how many people with signs needing help are smoking.
Bear - I saw a documentary too on pan handlers living in nice house, pan handling is tax free money for most. I give my time, food and misc but I don't give money except to organization I work with or to ones that sponsor education or children like orphanages.
Thank you Lindsey, I won't miss a sign saying "hungry" again, that's for sure.
With you running your markets now have you indulged in processed foods for convenence? That could be a culprit. I really like what Lucy M & Molly said - and I know you know you can do it naturally.
I went to a clinic for my broken elbow but I too have no doctor in my new city or dentist yet.
I didn't know a naturalist doctor could help with thyroid, I want to check that out.
Hi Rachie - I do help Shelters and Missions to help those that fall on hard times. I don't trust the street beggars. All too often when we gave money (in Seattle, WA) we would run into the street beggar buying beer at a convenient store. Even down here many have a sign that says, "Need Beer"
I'm just not a trusting person. However someone that came & helped me like they did you, if I heard they were looking for work, I would have given him some cash.
You shared your experience rather eloquently, very much enjoyed and related to it. I don't think I could put the words together as well to share my experience. It's enough to say I can relate (and relived) what you wrote.
Lindsy I'm so happy the Community Garden works for you. I am still very thankful my friend from MD told me about it in a phone call. So easy to Google to get involved.
Imp - if you Google Chia pudding recipes it is mind blowing how easy it is. I can't believe I never heard of it before. The side served at First Watch was a piece of Artisan Toast with Almond Butter, what a great compliment, however I'm guessing calorie laden. Oh and the Seeds are good in smoothies too if you ever do that or they are DELISH and salads. You bake tarts or breads - probably good in that.
Chat I buy whole Flax Seeds the grind them a tad before I use them.
Bear do you remember any of the possible side effects of the Chia Seed?
Holy smokes what fantastic choices you have. My youngest granddiva moved from FL to Santa Montica with her boyfriend almost a year ago now. She is loving it but she is young gorgeous, so is her man & they both make good money there, it's a great town for the young. I personally love northern CA so much more than southern CA where I lived, the north is beautiful (except for the winter) so says this girl from the tropical weather.
I live with hurricanes here in FL but am terrified of CA having an earthquake. Go figure.
Have you gotten your place and all settled in now? With your love of veggies you may be interested in seeing if there is a community garden near you. Someone recently told me, I googled and am so impressed with the one near me. Now that I'm retired I want to grow my own veggies and organic will really mean organic, not something I have to pay extra for.
Blog Category: Self-Improvement, because the more things I can do with either hand, the less restrictions I have, especially with power tools.
I agree the more you can do with both hands is great. When I broke my elbow it was on the right and my left hand is useless. I didn't realize how useless until the right arm was unavailable due to crazy pain.
I've only got one left handed friend. I tried writing with my left hand but I smeared all the ink as my arm drug across the page so I never tried again. Wow that dates way back when I actually used a pen and paper
