Thats the common 'red hering' thrown out by stoners eh ... it's medically useful
Well, the tobacco industry KNEW as far back as 1920's that tobacco was causing cancer and yet they still managed to 'sell the idea to medical doctors' that smoking was good for the health ... on the grounds that it made smokers cough ... which cleared gunk off their lungs.
Of course that was a lie and the lungs were being coated with tar ...
In WW2 the Brits had a desperate proble ... the carnage was more than many men could bear and many fled from the trenches ... bit of a problem as some days they were shooting near as many deserters as enemy!
But psychiatry was the emerging science that would solve everything and the Brits sent a couple of shiney new shrinks off to the trenches ... they didn't 'run away' but their research was flawed. They observed the 'usual signs of terror' and they noticed a few tommies sat around drinking tea and having a smoke ... so, as all the tommies drank tea and at different places they wrote a report concluding that 'smoking cigarettes created relaxation' and that was enough to get them sent home and have the army start shipping tons of cigs to the trenches!
It was later discovered that person 'in distress' listens to the Voice of Authority and behaves as told to expect ... so, they were told 'Smoke this it will help you relax...' and so a murderous myth was born !
That's pretty much how I look at them ... though I gather from our resident expert that my expressing an opinion in a thread is 'loading and seeking to influence'
Wanders off to find some short blokes and form a choir ;-)
I guess you could only say that if you had gained a job using that structure ...
I sat in on an informal lunch meeting and they refused even to allow adverts for sits vac or sits wanted on the lodge noticeboard.
Not gonna say that it never happens, but across all industries and walks of life people hire people they like and know they can rely upon, and the express fear and bigotry against anything 'alien'
I dated a gal for a year in UK, got on brill with her folks esp her dad who ahd interest in old cars ... turned up for sunday lunch there one day and he went mental ... different brand of christianity !!!!
There was a case - and a big global campaign to Free Mason Mandella !
Now THERE was an interesting bloke! I gather used to have dissenters chained together and put petrol filled tyres around their necks and flame them ...
Sure, but if Trump threatened to assassinate Kim it's pretty plain that he and his family become immediate targets ... there;s a lotta family there ???
the son of freemason can apply at age 18 whereas other men have to wait until 21
all applicants are subject to an anonymous ballot and a single 'black ball' even where the applicant is son of a mason would prevent the process from moving forward
The gent who gave that replies is either completely ignorant or is wilfully lying Anna
Freemasonry is NOT A CHRISTIAN ORGANISATION nor does it have any religious affiliation or links
For a man to become a mason requires only that he 'be of adult age, sound mind and hold a belief in 'a higher being' ' ... he's not questioned as to 'what he believes or how where and when if at all he does'
I had a series of conversations in the UK about, but left before joining.
FM does a massive amount of good work in very quiet and often anonymous ways ... people TEND to fear anything the don't know.... be fearless woman !!!!
Were those you knew in London 'evil men' then ?
Women can in fact join freemasonry in two ways ... there's a parallel women's org called 'Eastern Star' and there's also the 'Co-Freemasons'
So, perhaps I'm spectacularly stupid for not seeing it your way ?
AS I SEE it ... marriage came to an end, the guy settled with the ex wife and moved on, moved into HIS home which the bitter n twisted old hag had deliberately and wilfully sabotaged out of spite.
The middle part is largely fictional BS but I'll play along (In reality bad smells are trackable )
The ending ... after making the ex husband and his new partners life a total hell and forcing massive needless expense on them as a the consequence of her malice she gained a financial advantage ( but 10c on the $ is BS for sure )
Feeling happy that her malicious act was going forward ... she has a very sick mind !
Freemasonry ( the speculative mason) uses that craft as a metaphor for "personal development" notably that of the 'rough ashler' ( a 'raw' approximate cube) and knocking it into shape as a perfect cube.
It's a similar metaphor as any organisation which takes raw recruits and knocks them into shape.
Nor is it a 'secret organisation' any more than the Women's Institute, Working Men's Clubs, Lion's Club or Rotary ... but it IS a private organisation as are all the above.
In the process of initiation a candidate is given a word which he swears to keep secret ... the word itself is of no consequence ( and can be found easily on the net ) it's not revealed simply as a mark of good faith, of the man's character. As a mason advance he gains two further words which he will also not reveal and understand that to do is akin to branding himself a wilful purjeror
It's not a decent thing to ask a man to break an oath he gave freely ... just as it's not decent to ask a person to lie under oath.
But maybe your emphasis is on FREE ?
Well, if yer needing some stonework done ... get yer hand in pocket and PAY for a mason
RE: Who loves cute puppy
Koreans ... how do you like it cooked ???
