RE: Blind date !

I don't think a first meet is really 'a date' so, generally it would be planned as a coffee meet and that more or less implies some degree of brevity ?

If it goes well though there's option of running it on over into lunch or an early dinner ...

RE: Do you like Rachmaninoff

Right ... who was it pointed they considered themselves 'uncultured' for liking Meatloaf in a music thread ?

Meat and gravy with 'however cooked' spuds is pretty common across all 'western cultures' ... harder to find in African or Asia ?

Your own national 'Irish Stew' ???

RE: Do you like Rachmaninoff

Nothing uncultured about that ... with chips, roasties or gravy n mash potatoes ?

All time favourite classical for me '1812 Overture' by Tchaikovsky ... it was the first piece I bought on CD and came with a leaflet 'telling the story that's told by the music'

It really opened my ears to classical and became the first of many

RE: The Ear is the receptor, the eye is the aggressor !

Oh, OK ... well, in relation to 'here' one might say that proximity is the problem :-)

But yes ... and to keep it away from any risk of sounding personal ... you might find Picasso's art beautiful and my eyes might see something different !

??? that would also apply to music ... beauty in the ear of the beholder ?

?? or taste ... I love porridge, some people have asked 'How can you eat that slime...'

Time to say 'G'night all and enjoy whatever you each have left of the day!'
