It's said that 'we are all made in the image and likeness of God' Pedro and there's no doubt that JC appeared in the image and likeness of man
But one has to question the 'literalness' of the Bible and keep in mind that BECAUSE JC spoke in metaphors ther emay well be nay metaphors contained in the writings and that those who wrote all seem to place different perspectives and emphasis on reports of the same event!
Every traffic policemen understands the conflict and unreliability of eye witness statements eh ?
There's some sayings in the ancient Vedic texts that predate Christianity by several thousand years, I don;t have time now to go get but I can paraphrase from memory
"As it is in the microcosm so it is in the macrosm"
This says 'Everything si made from the same stuff, it's just a matter of scale ...
so YOU contain the univers in 'micro' just as the Universe contains YOU in it's entirety :-)
Another is roughly
" Every thing is a metaphor for every thing else "
You might ponder that in terms of
Man and Emerson's 'Oversoul'
Or you might look at
The Internet and the Akashic Records ... both are receptacles of "All knowledge and all events"
Do you hear that, sort of a cackling noise ... ever get the sense yer being watched here Pedro ( and I'm NOT meaning Guardian Angels eh ;-) )
You should see a doctor if the refraction period is more than 12 hours !
But I dunno, maybe you just don't fancy y'self the way you once did ?
Reminds me of a story about two bums in a shop doorwayd getting ready to settle down for the night.
First bum is whining about the loss of faculty, he's a bit deaf, a bit less sharp in eyesight and a lot less strong than he used to be.
" Oh " says the second bum " I dunno about that, OK maybe my eyes and ears arent quite as sharp but I sure am getting stronger. When I was a young man and had wood it took me two hands to bend it ... now I can do that with juss the one hand ! "
TRUTH is an interesting topic to raise Pedro, perhaps especially provocative here and at this time ?
Some people's 'truth' is extremely subjective and fluid ... perhaps even subject to daily variations "in the field" or the position of the moon's gravitational pull for example?
But without doubt, you do often present a different perspective and IMHO it's a good thing to be challenged regularly!
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face And rains fall soft upon your fields.
To paraphrase the Bible, “It is better to give than to receive.”
Regardless of your religious beliefs, this piece of ancient wisdom just might be an important life lesson that can benefit your mental health. For while it can feel really good to get something we want badly, new research shows that our brains actually respond more positively to giving than receiving.
The study, which was conducted at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, found that being generous--or even thinking of being generous--is associated with positive brain changes that produce happiness
Thoughts, experiences as a giver and or as a recipient ...
TeddyBear says "Be peaceful - it's good for your BP"
I'd say that it's easily possible that some were taking notice of what Rush Limbaugh and others said about the actual risk having been ramped up and that others might well recall having had their offers of assistance refused after Katrina...it IS true "Fewer countries offer aid after Harvey than after Katrina"
" Worth noting: The vast majority of foreign Katrina aid was untouched, either unclaimed by the U.S. government or unused after it was received, per the Government Accountability Office. The U.S. collected $115 million of the $850 million that was pledged in foreign aid and spent $45 million of it. " source
So, there's still $70 million floating around from Katrina ... you might ask questions about that perhaps?
I'd also suggest that in general the news reporting fails to keep up with the pace at which aid offers are made and delivered.
It's also highly likely that some aid reports are being withheld by the US Main stream media so they can create spurious stories that other countries are dragging their heels to punish President Trump ... and perhaps there ARE Indeed some who feel less kindly to the USA just now
President Donald Trump seeks to fulfill his campaign promise to "put America first" in his proposed 2018 budget.
"This includes deep cuts to foreign aid," Trump said in his opening message to his proposed budget. "It is time to prioritize the security and well-being of Americans, and to ask the rest of the world to step up and pay its fair share."
His budget would slash funding for the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to $25.6 billion, down 28 percent from the current level. Although the budget doesn't specify how much USAID alone would lose, if enacted, these deep cuts would significantly disrupt America's ability to deliver foreign aid.
But hey, that's politics eh plays havoc with the lives of REAL PEOPLE?
Wishing you all well and glad to see from what I;ve seen that the US Govt is streets ahead in it's response to IRMA than it was after Katrina !
Well said that man ... having said that we also learn as we age that it's good if we can " learn to surrender the things of youth " ( as per the line in Desiderata )
That allows us to enjoy 'being in the moment as we are' rather than holding on to notions we held in the past ... ?
I'm sorry that you feel that way about the post ... " the way I wrote it " I intended and DID I gave you full credit for your opening statements concerning recent reading and went on to make observations.
I did NOT, nor did I ever intend to accuse you of anything, and it's unfortunate that you've read it so!
