The report, which is some years old now, did indeed say that Mr Peterson thought he did a good job ... but maybe in your emotional anxiety and 'need to be right' you missed or choosed to avoid that statement was made during his previous employment ?
I'll correct my own error in believing that Mr Peterson in having believed that he was a 'currently serving police officer' that was stated 'in good faith' from the article I'd just read which omitted the word 'former' in referring to Sherrif Israel as his boss.
Israel was FORMERLY Peterson's boss for many years during his time as an officer.
Nonetheless, I stand by all of my original post and the more-so since we now agree that he was working for a private security company. Neither of us are privy to that companies procedures manual though it's unlikely to have contained instructions against 'wait for back up'
It's unjust to brand a man a coward before there's a proper investigation.
I've just read the their was actually a police officer on scene within a few minutes of the latest incident beginning and he's been suspended from duty because he took no action.
His senior officer and President Trump have called the officers integrity into question, with PoTUS going so far as to brand the officer a coward ... really.
It seems to me that a solo officer arriving at a scene where there is automated weapons fire would 'follow his training' and wait for backup - to go in blindly with a handgun again a machine gun, well he'd certainly get a hero's funeral but his own family would 'suffer the loss' .
There's also the possibility the simply 'froze' and was unable to take action ... that is very common when an individual is themselves suffering PTSD (whether diagnosed or not) and as the officer in question was an older man it's highly possible that there is an element of this involved.
But, having been branded a coward by PoTUS before there's any investigation ... many strong men have ended their own lives over lesser accusations than this, and I hope the officer has the strength and the investigative system has the integrity to deal with the matter fairly. No matter what the outcome, it's a horrible stigma that has been attached to him.
So, placing guns into the hands of civilian teachers ... whats the chance of THEM freezing?
Or worse, the chance of them panicking and becoming an accessory to the killing by poor or random aiming?
What about the psychological effects on teachers?
Or on children who have to walk into class 'knowing' that Sir or Miss is a killer and they saw them do it?'
The older members here might recall a US TV series called 'BRANDED' ... an army officer who was unjustly branded (literally burned into his flesh at that time) and used the lines 'What do you when you're branded, and you know you're a man"
I don't know if anyone else's remarks have been 'accusatory' mine were not ... they were 'simply questions' for you to think about ... so really no need to be defensive !
It's an international sight fella ... so, it's natural to assume that you are considering a life out of India ... and it's only wise of you to consider those issues and many more in a calm and level headed way.
How well would you (expect to) be received in the family of an older woman in India where you are same age as her own children ?
Now, ask yourself 'The Same Question' but in the context of her family from a different culture ?
How about other issues ... employment and employability in various different locations ?
