The Isolation Blog

A place for those of us in lockdown (currently Spain but coming to a place near you soon) to share what's happening or indeed what's not happening, have a winge, report on what's happening "outside" etc. It could also be used for updating who has supplies of toilet rolls in stock professor laugh

Z, are people really still using the underground in such numbers? That is hard to believe.
Here, there is still public transport but I haven't seen more than 3 people in any bus in weeks, and they were well spread out.
Pat, you say they'll catch up but I'm still looking for an explanation of how Italy and Spain are 25 times worse off than say Germany, and they started before us, and compared to some as much as 200 times more , and yes I'm aware of how families tend to get together more here but even so that's a big discrepancy, it's almost like it's not the same virus.
Molly, yes the papers are posting pictures of it daily, the problem is they cut public transport to discourage people from traveling, but excluded then excluded half the workforce in London from the work ban, so now they have to travel in what few trains are left.
I'd be a rich man, f I had all the answers now... Or considered a saint at least... I personally think this thing got away long before you realised it, and perhaps only the sickest of the sick were being tested, thats what is being said here. Only tales a few thousand and contact tracing is impossible, we will see that in a few weeks after the recent irrelevant council elections...
Very few people are considered essential workers here now, and only essential workers are allowed go to work/travel.
Pat, I think any government that said it was testing initially is living in fairy land, they're still not testing now till you fall over in the doorway of a hospital, and anyone who's ever watched a documentary on tracing a wanted felon would know they'd never have the resources to trace dozens or hundreds, other than places like China where they probably know every time anyone flushes their toilet .
Molly, I doubt you're restrictions are as severe as ours and even here banks are on the essential list, in London are there any workers that don't work in banking laugh
Z, banks are essential here too, but they are not considering all employees in all banks to be essential.
Like the construction industry, it is only any people who are actively involved in essential work are allowed work. So if your company happens to be working on a hospital, you get to go to work. If you are building a house, no.
You have to worry about the riff raff because there'll never be a hospital ward overflowing with elites. Money is the whole basis for the lockdown: if we are wealthy enough to swan around the world, we are wealthy enough to swerve the consequences.
Well, they just shut our state down til April 30th. UGGHHH.... The kids are getting a bit stir crazy and more than likely - so am I laugh
KP, just use crazy emo and we'll understand laugh wine
Good morning..The sun is shining so Ima keep smiling laugh
Merc, good afternoon, sun also trying to shine here, today is weekly venture into zombieland for supplies uh oh (still waiting for the mask emo CS laugh ) wine
KP, our thoughts are with you, but glad it's you not me laugh
These are truly boring times . Lets start a rumor?

How many AYES do we have?laugh
Z...The hair on my head c*m to my knee's the rate she was growing she would been hitting my feet and tripping me over laugh
Luke, do you think anyone would notice our rumour amongst the millions already out there dunno laugh
Lets all have a bet

Which country do you put your money on to find a vaccine first?..I choose Australia laugh
Merc, having seen that comment hair fanciers across the globe are now dribbling at the thought wow lets just hope they weren't holding a shopping trolley when they read it, I'll be using one shortly doh laugh
I think the betting is wide open on that one, everyone is sharing data and information lke never before. My bet would be America, with our help... But I'd happily lose my money if Russia or China gets the gong.
Merc, as I understand it there are several vaccines out there already, but it'll be next year before any are approved as they have to go through all kinds of trials, be a total disaster to inject the world's population with something more dangerous that the virus itself.
Rumor has it that 2 cables feeding SA has both been damaged. If only that was a rumor I would not spend 20 minutes to add 1 commentmoping
Shopping trolley Z laugh

I do agree with you Pat
Z please don't tell me I have to wait till next year..Why didn't they make a vaccine long ago?
Luke, I know of one CS blogger who has lost connection here completely this morning, we had a thunderstorm last night and that may have done more damage than first thought.
Poor Luke hug
Pat this test kit is confusing..I have a test kit thing close to me..A friend of mine felt like she had the flu..She went there and said no temp you have the flu...My friend said could I please be tested because we're told flu like symptoms we get tested..They said no because she had no temp..I reckon it's wrong especially since the Bronx have many in their thirties with no underlying medical issues bloody incubated.
Merc, they have to have the virus before they can make a vaccine, making the vaccine is the easy bit, testing it is the problem, plus if the virus mutates it won't work, same as flu vaccines. I know the UK had a vaccine last month and it was going to France for the first stage of testing, the Germans also have one, it was said Trump tried to buy the company so the US would have exclusive access to it doh
Molly, especially as this blogger uses the net for work doh
Thanks for that info Z blues
Z, hopefully it will be up and running soon again.

No single company/country should get the rights to any vaccine. That should be fought tooth and nail very mad
We just have to do our bit, isolate, and hope they do their bit, find a solution...

We cant control their bit. They can'tperform miracles, but they're working real hard.

Other countries have it much worse than us, our hearts go out. Lets just follow the advice and keep our fingers crossed.
Yep other countries are worse off that's for sure..I must say when I reflect I do have it good compared to million of others...
Or even Indonesia, it will devastate them. Less developed countries will really struggle with this thing/
Cell Block 17 laugh ..Your so cute hug

I read lovely lady..I love your new pic teddybear

Keep smiling teddybear
Z, that sounds like they are getting power-hungry after years in a uniform that they thought would give them the respect they thought they deserved, but didn't get laugh
Cough the next time he tries it.
I can guarantee he won't stop to talk to you again
Molly, anyone here coughs and the police drag them off uh oh as a smoker a whole shopping trip without one cough is quite hard laugh
GS, c/o HMP Lincoln, block 17

That link looks to me like an ad for a US pharma company doh
@Molly

Better make sure he's not armed first. I recall being hauled up by armed police for leaning against the Post Office wall in Barcelona. The guarda civil are a rule unto themselves and don't bother with asking questions and Z wouldn't want to get slung into a Spanish prison either.

Sorry you are having to undergo this Z but I just wish the Brits in this country would cotton on to how serious this is and stop touring about. Also the elderly are being targeted by robbing teenagers..very mad
