Well I don't know what day we're on anymore. I do know that our "stay at home" order has been extended to the 30th of April. Today we finally made our lemon pound cake. The 5 year old (thankfully) has school work to work on both in the paper form and online. The 2 yr old is napping and for a brief moment all is well with the world banana Although, I did tell my son to start watching for toilet paper. We still have some but who knows how long it will take him to find some more. Food supplies are coming back to the stores but what a coincidence - there are no sales papers.
Teddy, a nurse wow is this a good time to be doing that dunno
Chancer laugh you can tell it's not round here, the shutters would be down doh
Luke, 8 hours is a long time to stand, are they allowed to jog on the spot to keep warm wow laugh
Molly scold I'm not allowed out so can't pay for anything sigh
z, I'll send you my details. Bank transfers are easy :sniling:
if I could spell, it'd help laugh
KP, sounds like you're being kept pretty busy banana good luck on the paper chase.
Molly, in order to make a bank transfer the bank has to send me a text with a code number, they have my old number so I need to change it, in order to do that they have to send me a text............ this is a long story and has been ongoing for a year or so sigh
scold If I didn't know you better, I'd say you were making excuses, Z scold
Molly, wish I was as it's a right pain, of course normally you'd just pop into the bank and change it, but I'm here and the bank is in the UK.
I'll give you a pass on this occasion.
Just this one, mind professor
Molly, you're so kind.......... are you feeling well dunno rolling on the floor laughing
We are supposed to be kinder to the less fortunate at the moment tongue
Molly, does this kindness have a fixed end date, just so I know how long I can milk it professor
I guess it'll have to last until we are allowed to be horrible again blues
Now the UK has to send back 3.5 million test kits from China that don't work, I realise times are pretty desperate but since when has buying Chinese goods ever been reliable dunno
Z that's horrible - if there's one thing that needs to be highly accurate it's the tests!
it doesn't look good for China.
Chancer, the whole thing seems odd to me, even the spec for these things is that they should be at least 80% accurate (some of these Chinese test kits are around 25% accurate) uh oh that number implies 20% slip through the net, how can that benefit anyone confused they plan to use these kits first on essential workers, supermarket workers for example, how does knowing only 20% of them may have the virus help anyone dunno Seems to me this whole exercise is more to do with governments appearing to be doing something than actually making a big difference.
Palm, it's hard to sort the newspaper headlines, which are after all designed to sell papers, from the real facts, but if half of what's being said about the Chinese handling ( or even being the cause of this virus) is true I don't see how the Chinese economy can survive, even if governments don't claim compensation it'll be while before people want to buy goods with made in China written on them imo.
Let's hope that doesn't happen to the more affected countries as well.
Molly, that's a good point, round here produces a huge percentage of fruit and veggies eaten in Europe, whilst the risk is low and any virus contamination would likely be dead after being transported across Europe we can't afford for the perception of them to be tainted doh
I think all countries will have to improve how they produce and distribute goods.
If China is adversely affected by this, then the US, Spain and Italy will definitely be as well.
Molly, as true as that is China imo will have a bigger price to pay if it's found they hid the virus and wasted valuable time for preparations or more so if the "Leak from the lab" theory is proved.
We had a hepatitis scare her a few years back from frozen Cheinese berries. I'd never eat them or buy them, regardless of origin now. Then there was the frozen lasagne scandal with horse meat from Ireland, I'd never buy that again either, not that we ever imported frozen lasagne from Ireland anyway...
Pat, hold on a moment, I just have to rush to my freezer to check the frozen Lasagna I bought as a backup in case we were locked down super
Z do you think it's possible the tests were deliberately inaccurate? I mean I know it's a difficult question to face, but there truly are some diabolical people who would go to severe lengths when it comes to power and control
Chancer, I wouldn't rule anything out at this moment, other than 5G being responsible, it could be deliberate or it could be they just don't care, a sale being more important than human life, but they obviously didn't pass any kind of test before being shipped out.
Chianti and fava beans devil wine wink uh oh
